Afraid to lose control, caught up in this world
Who: Yukari Takeba and OPEN
When: Sometime in the first half of April, after the intro
Where: About Capablanca
What: Ingredient'in'
Rating: Despite the 'doing it raw' joke I want to make, there should not be anything worth warning for
[You know what Yukari really wants a break from? The fact that she spent like two days mopping up sap and bird crap from that stupid stronghold, and hasn't had a chance to go to the beach, or even really get to know the resort town.
This is cruel in kind of a different way. Who starts a war in a place like this?
She supposes she can't be too surprised - their 'enemies' did start everything with that attack on what should've been a peaceful international exhibition.
Regardless, she likes being on the beach, and she wants money, so a call for people to pick up ingredients shouldn't be too bad, right? She can get to know some of the locals, explore around a bit, and help out - while making a little spending cash.
... Except the chef has some stupid taste; so one can find her in one of two ways:
1) at the beginning of her job: before she knows the chef is really... particular. In this case, she's about as much hanging around window shopping as she is picking up real ingredients.
or!
2) a couple days later: when she finds out the chef is a hardass and didn't like half of what she brought him. So now it's kind of personal, and she's a little miffed. So, basically, back to being Yukari.
Catch her whenever!]

[This would be the android girl quickly walking to catch up to her.] Hello, Yukari-san! Are you enjoying the weather here?
no subject
... Ah? H-hey, Aigis! Yeah, the weather's really beautiful! Kinda a pity we can't enjoy it more, yeah?
[She is so tired of this place already, can she go back to blood dripping out of the walls?]
no subject
[And it was awkward there.]
Are you doing something? Can I help?
no subject
A-anyway, I guess there's a job out there to... get ingredients for a chef? But he's stupidly picky about what he wants. Some of this stuff I've never even heard of, but I was hoping gettin' out might help. [Sigh.
... Wait, she has a computer right here.]
I mean, if you've seen any of this stuff? [And pulling out something of a shopping list to hand over to Aigis.] It's annoying trying to find it.
no subject
But we can look for them together. It'll be faster, won't it?

[fortunately for Kaito, ranking up meant that he had recently come into acquisition of a skill that was perfect for picking out the right ingredients. when he stumbles across Yukari, he's actually in the process of weighing two different bundles of mushrooms in each of his hands, trying to determine which bunch would suit the prickly cook's tastes the best]
. . . oh, hey! Oi! Yukari-san!
[he lifts one hand in an attempted wave (made difficult by the fact that he's holding mushrooms) and flashes her a grin]
[she might notice that his eyes, normally blue, are strangely violet in color at the moment]
no subject
It didn't help that he yelled at her.
And she came so close to ruining this job by yelling back.
She'd notice more, but honestly? She's just kind of pissed.]
Huh? Oh, hey. [Well, whatever happened isn't Kaito's fault, so she's just
not going to take her bad mood out on him. Yet. The mushrooms, however, make her wonder...]
You got roped into this, too?
no subject
[he says with a snort as he drops both sets of mushrooms into his satchel, which he has slung around his shoulder and resting at his side. his gaze flickers away momentarily as he readjusts his bag, and when he looks up again, his eyes have returned to their natural color]
I s'pose you could say it like that. I volunteered to earn a li'l extra cash.
[the payout from the Capablanca investigation had been impressive, but Kaito is always on the lookout for extra colle. he squints at Yukari, considering]
Though judging by that response, you're not having an easy time of it, are you?
no subject
... Does she make a mention of it?
No, maybe she'll just stare for a few seconds longer.]
Um... yeah... I guess that's the way to say it. I can't tell half these things apart, or what makes some of the more rare ingredients any different than the other junk they have. And this guy's waaay too much of a jerk about the whole thing. [And she wants to get paid.]
no subject
Keh, no kidding. I got yelled at him for bringing an apple with a slight bruise on it on the first day. You'd think he'd be a lot nicer to the people who're helping him with his ingredients.
[he scowls as he commiserates with her over the their boss's pickiness. then, with a heavy sigh, he jerks a thumb towards himself and replaces that scowl with another grin]
Oi! I can help you with the "telling things apart" bit, though. Heh, I got a pretty cool new ability that makes identifying good ingredients pretty easy.

1 hey baby
Or at least don't fall asleep on it. Which is something she totally wouldn't do in the first place, but words to the wise. Wiser. He doesn't want to see her suffer the same fate. Which he's fine, but you know. Principle of the thing.
Luckily, when he runs into her, she's not napping along the shore. She's looking through the window of some store front. Minato pauses a few feet away, hands in his pockets, as his gaze drifts to where hers is focused. ]
...See something you like?
Heeeey
[Oh ho!]
... Most of this stuff I'd need more money for, though. I don't hate the uniforms but... I'd like some casual clothes. I just gotta make some of this money and I can get some, I think.
no subject
Mmm.
[ He considers this for a moment. ]
I've got some colle from my last job.
[ A subtle offer? ]
no subject
What, are you offering to buy something?
[Yukari is bisexual, after all.
Buy her something, and she's sexual.]
no subject
If you want.
[ Granted, he can't buy her a new wardrobe or anything, but maybe...a cute shirt?? ]

[ Kobato literally flies in with her arms outstretched. Someone tell her to stop before she runs into a wall or something. Luckily, she stops before there's any collateral damage. ]
Are you busy?
[ The way she's picking up ingredients seems to imply so. ]
no subject
Oh! It's Kobato. She's okay with this, even if it sort of startled the bejeebus out of her.]
Um... I'm just picking out some stuff 'cuz it's a job. How's it goin'?
no subject
Do you need any help? I can lend you a hand because I'm free.
[ Being generous to someone you're familiar with is a good feeling. ]

no subject
No, I don't think I have. [Kobato peers curiously at the bird next to Yukari. She seems very intrigued by it. ]

Window shopping?
no subject
Hiya. Doin' something like that. These uniforms are okay, but I'd rather have something else... Casual clothes and stuff.
no subject
Mm, yeah, it would be nice. [ He's been resorting to sometimes just taking off his blazer and going around with the t-shirt instead. ] Did you see anything you like so far?
no subject
A couple of things? But I need more money before I start throwing it around. I like the beach-fashion here, though. They've got some cute stuff. [She motions toward some of the upcoming summer outfits. Ironically, Lovers Arcanas - at least between 3 and 4 - seem to share taste in clothing that amazingly doesn't cover much.
Unfortunately for Sooj, Yukari will destroy him for pointing it out.]
no subject
[ Also, Souji knows better than to point out the obvious of the outfits. He has some tact and he maxed out his knowledge so no need to cause any trouble. He'll just nod in agreement. ]
They look like they'd suit you. [ Cute clothes with a cute girl, right? ] Did you pick up any of the job postings on the bulletin? They don't pay too well but it's better than nothing.
