[You know what Yukari really wants a break from? The fact that she spent like two days mopping up sap and bird crap from that stupid stronghold, and hasn't had a chance to go to the beach, or even really get to know the resort town.

This is cruel in kind of a different way. Who starts a war in a place like this?

She supposes she can't be too surprised - their 'enemies' did start everything with that attack on what should've been a peaceful international exhibition.

Regardless, she likes being on the beach, and she wants money, so a call for people to pick up ingredients shouldn't be too bad, right? She can get to know some of the locals, explore around a bit, and help out - while making a little spending cash.

... Except the chef has some stupid taste; so one can find her in one of two ways:

1) at the beginning of her job: before she knows the chef is really... particular. In this case, she's about as much hanging around window shopping as she is picking up real ingredients.

or!

2) a couple days later: when she finds out the chef is a hardass and didn't like half of what she brought him. So now it's kind of personal, and she's a little miffed. So, basically, back to being Yukari.

Um... it's not too bad, but I guess two eyes are better than one. Did you talk to him, too? He might pay ya for some ingredients if you can bring it to him, even if he didn't know you were gettin' stuff for him, too. [The bird escapades aside, Yukari is in a pretty good mood, so it's not too bad. Besides, Kobato has yet to irk her.]

No, I don't think I have. [Kobato peers curiously at the bird next to Yukari. She seems very intrigued by it. ]

Oh, that's Argus, my Carrier. It uh... it doesn't talk much. Or do much. It likes to just kind of sit and stare, in fact. You got one, too, yeah?

Hello Mister Argus!

I did receive a carrier earlier. Her name's Aura, it's a bird too like yours.

[Except it's made out crystal and annoys people from time to time. Argus seems well behaved.]

[Argus is creepy, it's just not being creepy right now. Upon being addressed, Argus merely looks over at Kobato, and stares.]

Okay, yeah. Mine's not super talkative or anything, but it seems to know pretty well when I want it to do something, so... It's useful. Takes some getting used to when they do that eye-projector thing, though.

[ Kobato keeps staring at Argus as if this were a staring contest or something. ]

I'm going to keep looking at him until he blinks!! Argus is good at staring contests Yukari.

Um... [Looking between the bird and the person. Argus certainly is very good at staring contests.

... Eventually, though, it seems to give up on the competition and looks around again. Whatever it thought was interesting about Kobato, it doesn't anymore after that.]

Argus can stare for a long time. Does he normally give glares like that?

[It's kind of scary actually.]

Yeah it's... um... [How does she put this...]

I think he's just really, really observant. [And a little creepy.] Maybe he's trying to make sure I don't get hurt or something? I dunno. He doesn't talk much. Or... communicate, I guess.

I don't think he'd want you to get hurt. Argus seems very nice just like you!

[She's totally complimenting Yukari right off the bat. It's no big deal for her to be so openly honest.]

Thanks! I don't know about Argus, though. I think it just likes to sit and stare, really.

... Actually, he kinda shakes his head a lot. I don't know how much like a person these Carriers think, though, so it might be a coincidence.

[She doesn't know what to do about the compliment to herself.]

But I'm glad I made a good first impression! You seem like you make friends easy, too, yeah?

He's so observant. It'd be nice if we knew why! And of course. You're super nice!

[Always staring at others like a hawk.. that is kind of unsettling. Even though they don't know Argus' intentions he doesn't look like a bad guy. ]

Yeah, I have plenty of friends here. Do you know someone named Aigis?

[Her hands are made out of metal, but Kobato enjoyed speaking to her.]

[No, not a bad guy. Just sort of creepy.] Yeah... but I don't think he wants to tell us.

[But the name... that's interesting.] Oh, yeah, Aigis! She's someone I know from back home! She's nice. [If a little weird. And being really familiar with Yukari for reasons she doesn't... know...]

I played volleyball with her for a while but we were kind of confused. Did you ever play sports with Aigis at home?

[ The way Argus is staring at everything is kind of eerie. Kobato doesn't seem to mind it though. ]

Um, yeah, we know each other. [Sssort of. And Aigis seems to know her better than she knows Aigis, which is weird in and of itself, but she hasn't really started questioning it. Yet.]

Sports? No. She... um, she lived in the same dorm as I did and we were in a club together in school. So we've gotten to know each other that way.

Ah, yeah. I figured as much we had some trouble playing volleyball! But Aigis is a nice person. I hope I can speak with her again.

[Kobato claps her hands together and cheers.]

You two are like best buddies! That makes me really happy.

Um... I dunno about best buddies. My best friend is... someone else, but I'd definitely always trust her to watch my back.

I could see her having trouble playing volleyball, though. [A giggle.] Have you met the other people from our... home... yet? Souji-kun and Minato-kun?

Hm, I don't think I have! [ Those names don't really ring a bell....but you know it never hurts to ask! ]

What are they like? Would you mind telling me more about them?

Well, Souji-kun is a tall guy. Like, really tall. Has silver hair, kind of in a... bad bowlcut? [She doesn't hate him yet, she promises.] He's a friendly lookin' guy, though.

And... Minato-kun, he's shorter, but he's still taller than me. [She motions to about his exact height.] Hard to miss him, he has blue hair, and it covers his right eye. [She motions with her hand to cover her right hand as though she has bangs over it.] He's real quiet, though, kind of stares at things... real intense. [And cute and... okay, she'll stop herself before she goes off and makes it too obvious she likes him.]

That doesn't really ring a bell!! I don't think I've met them before.

You know a lot of people Yukari! Are you popular?

[She does look like that kind of person who'd attract lots of attention.]

Um... I guess? I guess I do hang out with a lot of people... or, I try to, at least. Helps, yanno? [Does that count? She's not sure if it counts. She also doesn't specify what it helps.]
