Afraid to lose control, caught up in this world

Rating: Despite the 'doing it raw' joke I want to make, there should not be anything worth warning for

[You know what Yukari really wants a break from? The fact that she spent like two days mopping up sap and bird crap from that stupid stronghold, and hasn't had a chance to go to the beach, or even really get to know the resort town.

This is cruel in kind of a different way. Who starts a war in a place like this?

She supposes she can't be too surprised - their 'enemies' did start everything with that attack on what should've been a peaceful international exhibition.

Regardless, she likes being on the beach, and she wants money, so a call for people to pick up ingredients shouldn't be too bad, right? She can get to know some of the locals, explore around a bit, and help out - while making a little spending cash.

... Except the chef has some stupid taste; so one can find her in one of two ways:

1) at the beginning of her job: before she knows the chef is really... particular. In this case, she's about as much hanging around window shopping as she is picking up real ingredients.

or!

2) a couple days later: when she finds out the chef is a hardass and didn't like half of what she brought him. So now it's kind of personal, and she's a little miffed. So, basically, back to being Yukari.

[She opens her mouth as though to stop him, but he stops himself, and she rolls her eyes as he takes off back into the dressing room.

Once he's back out, though, she snatches the skirt from him... then quietly appraises him.]

Hmm... not bad. How do you like it?

[ See? He's learned a bit, at least. Even if playing dumb gets him pretty far.

He looks down at his outfit, then up to Yukari, searching for some sense of approval. She picked it out so she must like it, right? ]

It's not pink. [ He sounds almost dejected. But seriously... ] It's comfy.

[She does rather approve of the way it looks.

And raises an eyebrow at him.] Don't wanna pull you too far out of your comfort zone. They have that other shirt... [She motions back at the dressing room.] In pink you want me to grab it?

... Like I said, maybe I could figure out a way to wear blue.

[Pause.] Anything else besides 'it's comfy'?

[ Yukari, he's pretty sure you could wear anything and it would look good. He knows she's arguably the most fashion forward of the group. He's mostly teasing about pink, but...he'd wear it. He's chill like that.

To her question, though, he answers with one of his own, ]

Do you like it?

I think it looks good on you. But you always wear those sort of colors well. [Fishing for compliments? Alright, she'll take the bait.

For now.

... And yet...] We'll put that on the 'maybe' pile, then. There should be some more, if you wanna. I got a couple more to try, myself. [Hands behind her back, and she motions toward the dressing room with her chin.]

If you think so, then so do I.

[ He's easy to please, or is he trying to please by being easy? Maybe a little of both.

Ah, Yukari, if he were a lesser man he'd take that as an invitation to join you. Or rather, if he didn't know Yukari so well than to take it that way. Alas. He nods. ]

What about the skirt I wore?

... [Sigh.] It's not right for your legs and your hips are too small anyway. Plus, you need to shave. Also, it's my skirt.

... So... I'll take it back, and you can keep wearing pants.

[Now excuse her while she takes her stuff into the changing room.]

So you're going to try it on?

[ That's what he was getting at. ]

It'll look better on you.

[ At least that much is true, right? He'll retreat to his room as well, but he's honestly more interested in seeing what she comes out with. ]

Well, I did grab it for myself, so....

[Just saying.

Also, she's going to the changing room now, thanks.

Actually, if anything, what she walks out in... more or less matches his second outfit. Sure it's got plenty of pink...

... But okay, so she did sneak pink into his wardrobe.]

[ She sure did! It's even pastel. The ankle-length pants are a nice touch, too. There's something to be said about Japanese street fashion that doesn't quite match anywhere else.

Not that it matters to him.

But he's honestly more interested in her outfit. ]

Yeah. It does look better on you.

See?

... That might be too gaudy, though. You definitely stand out in it. I mean, it's not a bad look entirely? But it'll draw attention.

I think you have better legs than me, too.

... Let's just not talk about that here, okay? [Please. Please why is he bringing this up here.]

Don't we have something else to try on in that pile?

[ Because it's true? Because he's nice? No, because he's a troll. But it is true. ]

Yeah, I've got one more thing. Wanna go for it?

Yeah, let's do it.

[PHRASING. BOTH OF YOU.

Though tbh she's actually just going to go for the clothes and so help him if he follows her.]

[ FREUDIAN SLIP OR PREMONITION? OR both.

He knows better than to follow her, at least. He'll just take a minute to change into the last outfit she'd picked out for him. He was only planning on getting her something, but let's be honest, he'll probably get whatever she liked on him, too. ]

[Not until he gets a rank ten. The best he can do right now is just ask her to make out (nottalking).

And hey, look at that. SHE picked out something blue for once. Blue and white. It's... really different on Yukari, but not bad looking. A little blue overcoat over a white tank top and... WHO LIKES SHORT SHORTS. Yukari likes short shorts. Who wouldn't with legs like hers, lbr.]

Ready as I'll ever be.

[ He would try but he's pretty sure that would end poorly for him at most ranks. Maybe even rank 10.

At her signal, Minato steps out in his last outfit. It's more colorful than he usually goes for, which seems to be what she's been picking out for him thus far, but he likes what she's wearing.

Minato likes short shorts. Yes. ]

...That one's my favorite.

I'm surprised the weather seems to be warming up lately, so I guess shorts are back in season! Even if it's supposed to be fall, last I checked.

But you like it? I don't wear a lot of blue, but I guess I might wear a little more... [Shhh it's not because she likes him a lot or anything.]

I guess we have a winner? I like that one on you, too.

[ Yukari, for you? Shorts are always in session. He knows better than to say that out loud, though.

To her question, he nods and offers a small smile to back up his claim. ]

Yeah, it looks good on you. Most things do, but I like this.

[ Just going to slide another compliment in there just in case. ]

Yeah?

[Oh look, she's not snapping at him for complimenting her, she must definitely be in a better mood.]

Yeah. I think I picked well... but your fashion sense wasn't terrible either way, so if you like it, it must be good. [She giggles.] Then I'll take this!

[And he can take the other one, but she does remember that the whole thing was supposed to be shopping for her, so if he doesn't want to spend the money, this is his out.]

[ An actually pleased Yukari? He's done good today.

> You feel that your relationship may become closer soon...

That's definitely a good sign. And hey, he's...well, he should probably have more than the standard issue clothes that all Heroes were provided to begin with, right? ]

[ Yeah, this will work out just fine. ]

Let's get these bagged up, then.

Alright, let's do that. [Gonna start packing things up to bring to the register, then. Oh look, she's good to retail employees, even, and hangs things back on hangars or folds them up nicely to make life easier. It's like she does this a lot.]
