Afraid to lose control, caught up in this world

[You know what Yukari really wants a break from? The fact that she spent like two days mopping up sap and bird crap from that stupid stronghold, and hasn't had a chance to go to the beach, or even really get to know the resort town.

This is cruel in kind of a different way. Who starts a war in a place like this?

She supposes she can't be too surprised - their 'enemies' did start everything with that attack on what should've been a peaceful international exhibition.

Regardless, she likes being on the beach, and she wants money, so a call for people to pick up ingredients shouldn't be too bad, right? She can get to know some of the locals, explore around a bit, and help out - while making a little spending cash.

... Except the chef has some stupid taste; so one can find her in one of two ways:

1) at the beginning of her job: before she knows the chef is really... particular. In this case, she's about as much hanging around window shopping as she is picking up real ingredients.

or!

2) a couple days later: when she finds out the chef is a hardass and didn't like half of what she brought him. So now it's kind of personal, and she's a little miffed. So, basically, back to being Yukari.

--yep, it's definitely a shopping trip. Which, actually, Minato doesn't mind too much. He's always been an easy going guy in that regard. Besides, this means he gets to see her in cute new outfits...right?

So, he kind of lets himself be dragged inside. The bell above the door rings. ]

[ The shopkeep chimes in on cue. Minato straightens and spares them a glance before his gaze settles back on Yukari. ]

...So I get to help?

[Yes he does. And hey, look at all the skin she doesn't tend to cover on a regular basis - she even seems to wear that uniform skirt shorter than others. Summer is definitely coming up, as well, so it's time to shed even more cloth!]

What, like standing outside the dressing room and commenting? [She isn't sure how she'd feel about this. On the one hand, why not dress to impress him? On the other...

... He's kind of snarky, and she doesn't need any hits to her self-confidence, thanks.] I mean, I guess if you're paying for it.

[ Yes. That sounds like an excellent plan, Yukari. Don't let anyone stop you. Wear that uniform how you like it. He's just here to be supportive.

Hey, he knows he doesn't have to be snarky. He just chooses to be most of the time. Still, her agreement--wobbly though it is--does cause him to lift his brows a bit. ]

[Admission accepted. Time for her to start poking through some of the racks.] I don't hate the uniform, it's just... that's all we have to wear, and I'd rather have some clothes that don't stick out so much. I haven't seen a lot of other people in uniform around... so it's not like wearing your school uniform, where everyone kinda expects you.

[ Minato gives a light shrug at that. He's been wearing his uniform most of the time, but he did pick out a few more inconspicuous items after his first month. Mostly because white is super easy to get dirty and he was hating having to wash it all the time. Too much work. ]

Yeah, they do make you stand out.

[ Which isn't necessarily a good thing. ]

Sometimes they get you discounts, though.

Sometimes. Most of the time it feels like I'm way too visible, though. I get asked a lot to help out with random stuff, and I can't help everyone...

[ Ah. Yes. Heroes should have all the answers, shouldn't they? Totally ignoring the fact that they were all brought here with no prior knowledge of the area, let alone the history and politics. The world's a funny place like that.

Plus, white's really hard to get stains out of. It's a bad color if you're gonna be doing a lot of physical activity.

[ He looks down at his own outfit. Really, all he's been wearing are the uniforms provided to them. Mostly because they're free. He likes free things. And he didn't really come with any of his clothes from home, so... ]

[ Does he need new pants too? ]

[It's a bad idea for girls to only have white pants, anyway......... js]

So, that's what I want. You should get something, too! [Couples shopping?] Then it'd be easier for you to be out, too. [And they can like. Go on cute dates and not get stopped. That's what she's getting at. Read between the lines, Minty Boy.]

[ He is very thankful he never has to worry about that.

But, ah...something for him too? He guesses he could probably spare a few more colle for something like that. Especially if she's involved with it. It's not laziness, it's bonding. Honestly! ]

Okay. [ He nods in agreement. ] Are you going to pick it out?

[Yeaaah, well, she does and she... does.

Letting her pick out matching outfits might be dangerous, though. Because that's exactly what she's going for.]

I could... if you want me to. Oo, maybe something that matches?

[ Luckily for the both of them, Minato doesn't seem to mind that sort of gimmick. As long as he's not wearing, you know...a woman's swimsuit, he's fine. ]

[ Now it's a challenge. ]

[She wouldn't dare! ... Okay, not on purpose. She might just to be silly. Even if she hasn't been in the most joking around mood since she got here. Her sense of humor apparently suffers without Junpei about.]

I bet I could find something that works out for both of us. I might even decide to wear blue. [Who is this and what has she done with Yukari.]

[ Junpei is everyone's go-to comic relief, although to be fair it can end a little slapstick with him. Minato thinks you're hilarious, Yukari, you just can't see it. ]

She subdivides the piles out, and hands him his. There might be more than men's clothing in there, on accident.] Here, try these on. If you really don't like one, you don't need to keep it, but lemme see at least a couple, yeah? I think you might like at least some of 'em. [And he's really cute and she likes looking at him and...]

[ He could rock it. He's confident in this. Yukari's normal sweater? Done. Totally done. (He hasn't done it. Probably.)

Minato takes the pile of clothing without a second thought. He just trusts that she had good taste, which she does. And he's not very picky. ]
