I: Carbuncle Hunting

[It's been hours tramping through the forest and there is no carbuncle in sight. William's getting fed up with the way their noble purpose is being thwarted. Doesn't the creature value the possibility of contributing to science? But there is no point in being too cross and the day is a pleasant one, so after a moment he proposes that the two of you sit down. And enjoy the picnic basket of food he brought just for this occasion. Because you can’t work on an empty stomach. And maybe the carbuncle would like some food too. Treating it to a good meal would be a fair exchange for it's gem.]

I swore the local people said there were some of those creatures in here. Hopefully they're just shy.

II: Haunted Hospital Time [closed to Yew]

[William had come to accept the very real existence of the supernatural over a year ago. It was hard not to when you kept running into demons and angels who wanted to either A, kill you or B, wine and dine you. Of course, there were certain things he still had doubts about. Like ghosts. Though at least it was only a doubt and not a ridiculously powerful desperation to ignore the horror of reality.

But now that William was wavering, he wished to confirm the truth about spectors and this job provided the perfect opportunity. So here he was with a notebook in hand and a very unfortunate companion.]

Come on, Yew. Let’s get going. I didn’t stay up this late for you to get cold feet.

<[Is he being a bit merciless? Yes. Yes he is. Sorry bro. But it's time to push on through those hospital doors.]

II: Haunted Hospital [Open to everyone]

[Despite everything that happened the first time he went through the hospital, William’s elected to go again. After all, there are people who could surely benefit from his guidance. And he does want to read those pages he missed. The part of him that loves a good mystery is curious.

So have a fearless William with you, one who is now immune to the jump scares, because it just stops being terrifying after the tenth time. You’ll definitely be okay. For sure.]

[ WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE GHOSTS...

Yew would never ever take on this job in a million years if he had the choice, but thanks to William's...forceful persuasion and his own desire to do something productive regarding the virus.

(It's mostly William's fault, though. Ahem.) He'll just...slip in some of his obligatory whining about ghosts. Is his voice higher-pitched than usual? Must be imagining things. ]

I-I'm not g-getting cold feet! Just...just being cautious! Because it's dangerous!

[ William might have to physically push him, at this rate. That, or he goes in first, leaving Yew with no choice but to follow him. ]

[It was not unusual for Wander to hug a leg, or wrap his arm around someone's side. This time, however, he plastered himself against William, refusing to budge for anything short of a crowbar. His fur bristled, his body shivered, and this was just from looking at the outside of the hospital.]

Um, are—are you sure this is a good idea? What if there's a Dracula in there?

[ if nina had it her way she'd be going about this mission alone, or at least with someone that she knows... but satisfying hunger is something hard to pass up. if anything, he seems nice enough. she just has to not scare him off by being awkward and weird, but that's something that's easier said than done for nina. ]

I mean, I'd be pretty prone to hiding if someone was trying to steal a valuable gem off of me. There just has to be some kind of angle we're not getting...

[ So they meet again. Subaki is more than used to the familiar face and tries not to show his external disappointment at having to keep an eye on the young man yet again. How many times is he going to find him in these jobs? Not that he should judge him. At least, he's making an effort to make money such as himself. He just wishes he had someone more reliable on his side.

Having already gone through this hospital once before, he's not particularly terrified himself- and he most definitely wasn't afraid at all the first time as a knight brimming with perfect amounts of valor. The moans have become something akin to background noise as he travels in deeper, more worried for his companion's well-being than his own. This is hardly anything someone like him couldn't handle. ]

Do stay close by this time. The threats here aren't particularly deadly. Just irritating. Also, keep a grip on my hand.

[ Which is a strange enough command, but he recalls the effects of mana exchange here. He'd rather not risk it even if it is... more than a bit peculiar to hold someone's hand through the entire length of this hospital trip. ]

So long as you follow my expert guidance, nothing will come to pass.
