I: Carbuncle Hunting

[It's been hours tramping through the forest and there is no carbuncle in sight.  William's getting fed up with the way their noble purpose is being thwarted.  Doesn't the creature value the possibility of contributing to science?  But there is no point in being too cross and the day is a pleasant one, so after a moment he proposes that the two of you sit down.  And enjoy the picnic basket of food he brought just for this occasion. Because you can’t work on an empty stomach. And maybe the carbuncle would like some food too. Treating it to a good meal would be a fair exchange for it's gem.]

I swore the local people said there were some of those creatures in here. Hopefully they're just shy.

II: Haunted Hospital Time [closed to Yew]

[William had come to accept the very real existence of the supernatural over a year ago.  It was hard not to when you kept running into demons and angels who wanted to either A, kill you or B, wine and dine you.  Of course, there were certain things he still had doubts about.  Like ghosts.  Though at least it was only a doubt and not a ridiculously powerful desperation to ignore the horror of reality.

But now that William was wavering, he wished to confirm the truth about spectors and this job provided the perfect opportunity. So here he was with a notebook in hand and a very unfortunate companion.]

Come on, Yew. Let’s get going. I didn’t stay up this late for you to get cold feet.

<[Is he being a bit merciless? Yes. Yes he is. Sorry bro. But it's time to push on through those hospital doors.]

II: Haunted Hospital [Open to everyone]

[Despite everything that happened the first time he went through the hospital, William’s elected to go again. After all, there are people who could surely benefit from his guidance. And he does want to read those pages he missed. The part of him that loves a good mystery is curious.

So have a fearless William with you, one who is now immune to the jump scares, because it just stops being terrifying after the tenth time. You’ll definitely be okay. For sure.]

III: Wildcard/Chilling around Blanc
[Want to hunt for something other than carbuncles? Or want to modify one of the above prompts? Go for it! We can also do non-job prompts like studying, training and even just shopping or having tea! Don’t be afraid to throw up a prompt or pm me so I can write a top level!]

Well, yeah, but that was before I got a good look at him.

[He hugged William's leg as thanks for agreeing before leading the way back.]

Mr. Dracula? I'm really sorry for screaming at you.

[No answer. He turned the corner and tried again.]

Let's start over! Folks call me Wander, and these are my buddies, William, Artemisia, and Wynona! ... Mr. Dracula?

[Wait! Was that... was that crying he heard? Oh no, it was worse than he thought! Wander hurried down the hallways.]
nh2h: (My Fair Hatey)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-11-22 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
[As they entered the room, Wander found it was not Mr. Dracula crying, but a man facing the corner.]

Oh, what's wrong? Having a bad day? Well I know a few ways to...

[The man threw his head back and screamed. His body soaked with blood, the spirit dissipated as he flew through the wall. Wander said nothing. He only fell over, scared stiff. It was at this moment Wynona decided to brush up against William's leg. After all, the only thing worse than going back, was to be left alone.]

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-11-24 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Despite the way his body quaked, Wander nodded his head and squeaked:] Yes.

[Clearing his throat, he got back up and readjusted his hat.]

Yes. Folks here need help, and I won't leave until I've made their afterlife a little brighter! [He gulped to ease the shivers.] I'm sure they don't mean to be scary, right? Let's try again with Mr. Dracula. I think he's...

[Picking a random direction, Wander walked ahead.]

... This way!
nh2h: (Things are bound to get better)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-11-27 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
How do you figure we get him to do that? I didn't think I did anything surprising, but he was awfully upset. Maybe I have to be even gentler?

[Wynona nervously nudged her snouts against Wander and he embraced her in return. The first turn led them into a dark, miserable examination room. Some dusty furniture lie crumpled in the corner, but no spirits inhabited the area. The next room was similarly empty, and the one after that. Wander frowned.]

Do you think he got scared away?

[Wynona did not like this. She could not shake the feeling they were being watched.]
nh2h: you didn't wind up together (And it's probably best)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-11-28 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder what could get his attention...

[While Wander wondered, he set his sights on the creaky door. Maybe that was him! He took a deep breath, put on his best, if a little nervous smile, and then he opened the door. Inky darkness lurked within, obscuring everything inside. The sounds of scratching came from inside, that familiar sound of a sharp quill scrawling on parchment. How could someone be writing without any light to see?

Wander looked at William, perplexed. Well, if someone was in there...

... He ran inside, much to Wynona's shock.]
nh2h: (It ain't a total disaster)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-11-29 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Along with the scribbling, came the hushed sounds of muttering. They were getting closer! The doctor seemed to be making observations on his latest experiment, and he did not sound pleased with it. Yet, perhaps their next experiment would yield results that were more promising. After muttering something about readying the next patient, a portion of the room lit up with a past memory.

The doctor walked away from his notes and approached the man strapped down to the cot, the same man from before. Scared to the point of crying, he begged for mercy yet to no avail. The doctor began his spell. Wander quickly ran between them.]

Hey, wait a sec, let's not get too hasty! I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but maybe we can talk about it first?
nh2h: And a maniacal determination to destroy our whole galaxy (Sure Dominator got an unstoppable army)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-01 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[The doctor sized up William as he mentioned pragmatics. He countered that if men kept practical, there would be no advance. To make a breakthrough, a chance must be taken. This time, he insisted, he perfected his technique. This will be his greatest triumph and they were to witness history.

While William and the doctor debated with at each other, Wander and Wynona found a little cover for now, undoubtedly planning something should an appeal to logic fail.]
nh2h: (All the things that you will see)

'with at each other'... I need more sleep

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-03 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
[The doctor brushed off William. Such youthful idealism had no place in science. But, if he was so concerned about stress throwing off the results, the doctor commented that William would make a more suitable test subject...]

Doctor, oh, doctor!

[Wander, speaking falsetto and disguised in a blonde wig and nurse's outfit, sprang upon the cot and held up a chart.]

It's an emergency. You're needed in room 103, stat!

[The doctor looked at him; even the man strapped to the cot stopped screaming to look. Was this... was this fooling anyone? His eyeliner and lipstick did nothing to change the fact he was a fuzzy orange spoon.]
nh2h: (Just wander over yonder)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-04 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[The doctor scowls, but could only see the chart as Wander pushed it before his face. He grabbed it from his hands and looked at it. These results were...

He cleared his throat and loomed threateningly over Wander, warning that he was only humouring him because he we wanted to see him squirm. Who could possibly be in need of his help? And for what reason? Did he even know a single patient's name?]

Doctor! I am surprised at you. Of course I know our poor patients who need your professional expertise! There's Lina Lemke—her birthday is in a week, by the way, I'll bring a cake! Then there's...

[While Wander began listing off several patients' names, their birthdays, and their ailments, he moved away from the cot, causing the doctor to turn his back to William and his patient.]
nh2h: (Dancing ghost mimes)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-06 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
[As the man whimpered, Wander began to sweat. The doctor raised his hand and shouted for him to stop. So he knew the patients, good for him, now if he was done, he had important work to do...]

Wait! Don't forget about that emergency! Come on, doc, she needs you!!

[Ghastly moaning came down the hall along with overlapping concerned shouts. The doctor looked down at Wander. If he was here, then who was making those noises? He snarled and stormed out of the room. Wander wiped the sweat from his brow, but it was not over yet. He scrambled over the cot and began working on the restraints.]

Hurry, Will, I don't want him finding Wynona!
nh2h: (And check out this and that!)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-08 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, Will. I liked your way a whole lot more. Sure wish the doc would've listened to reason.

[While he spoke, he hurriedly unfastened the restraint. William got through them more quickly and the man was finally freed.]

We did it! Where's the doc, Artie?

[He pulled off his wig and stuffed it into his hat. The outfit was the next to go and he wiped his arm over his face to take the makeup off.]
nh2h: (My Fair Hatey)

[personal profile] nh2h 2016-12-09 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not leaving without Wynona!

[The doctor locked eyes with Wander. For making a fool of him, he decided the alien would be the next test subject. He had been curious of his anatomy, and might provide promising results for his experiments...

The doctor advanced and Wander stepped back. As soon as the doorway was clear, the freed man raced out and vanished. On the ground, he left a piece of paper, a torn page from his journal.]
