I: Carbuncle Hunting
[It's been hours tramping through the forest and there is no carbuncle in sight. William's getting fed up with the way their noble purpose is being thwarted. Doesn't the creature value the possibility of contributing to science? But there is no point in being too cross and the day is a pleasant one, so after a moment he proposes that the two of you sit down. And enjoy the picnic basket of food he brought just for this occasion. Because you can’t work on an empty stomach. And maybe the carbuncle would like some food too. Treating it to a good meal would be a fair exchange for it's gem.]
I swore the local people said there were some of those creatures in here. Hopefully they're just shy.
II: Haunted Hospital Time [closed to Yew]
[William had come to accept the very real existence of the supernatural over a year ago. It was hard not to when you kept running into demons and angels who wanted to either A, kill you or B, wine and dine you. Of course, there were certain things he still had doubts about. Like ghosts. Though at least it was only a doubt and not a ridiculously powerful desperation to ignore the horror of reality.
But now that William was wavering, he wished to confirm the truth about spectors and this job provided the perfect opportunity. So here he was with a notebook in hand and a very unfortunate companion.]
Come on, Yew. Let’s get going. I didn’t stay up this late for you to get cold feet.
<[Is he being a bit merciless? Yes. Yes he is. Sorry bro. But it's time to push on through those hospital doors.]
II: Haunted Hospital [Open to everyone]
[Despite everything that happened the first time he went through the hospital, William’s elected to go again. After all, there are people who could surely benefit from his guidance. And he does want to read those pages he missed. The part of him that loves a good mystery is curious.
So have a fearless William with you, one who is now immune to the jump scares, because it just stops being terrifying after the tenth time. You’ll definitely be okay. For sure.]
III: Wildcard/Chilling around Blanc
[Want to hunt for something other than carbuncles? Or want to modify one of the above prompts? Go for it! We can also do non-job prompts like studying, training and even just shopping or having tea! Don’t be afraid to throw up a prompt or pm me so I can write a top level!]

creeps in here late / II.
Having already gone through this hospital once before, he's not particularly terrified himself- and he most definitely wasn't afraid at all the first time as a knight brimming with perfect amounts of valor. The moans have become something akin to background noise as he travels in deeper, more worried for his companion's well-being than his own. This is hardly anything someone like him couldn't handle. ]
Do stay close by this time. The threats here aren't particularly deadly. Just irritating. Also, keep a grip on my hand.
[ Which is a strange enough command, but he recalls the effects of mana exchange here. He'd rather not risk it even if it is... more than a bit peculiar to hold someone's hand through the entire length of this hospital trip. ]
So long as you follow my expert guidance, nothing will come to pass.
[ Has he ever lead him astray in all their jobs together? ]

But well, this man, whatever his faults will not quake in fear or drag him back. And fortunately, William's immune now to the terrors the hospital likes to throw at a person. So there's no way to embarrass himself either. Which would be a disaster in front of this man.]
I have already been through here twice, just so you know. You do not need to explain it to me.
[But he'll still keep a grip on Subaki's hand, because the mana is useful in this case. This time, instead of carrying a lamp, Artemisia has something that's very similar to a glow stick in her hand, that she's hold in front of her quite boldly as she flits forward.]
But anyways, let's get going. I'd like to find those papers that I missed the last time.

[ He'll be watching him and observing him. Last time he'd come to this hospital, it hadn't quite gone without a hitch, and he definitely doesn't like it when things take unnecessarily long. The lack of inefficiency had hardly been his fault either, though being exemplary at teamwork is the mark of a good soldier. It's why he's even deigning to put himself through this once more with a new partner even when he knows he can do it all too well and effectively on his own.
He won't fail at working together with strangers -there's nothing he can allow himself to fail at. He will just have to work twice as hard to compensate for William's deficiencies, something he is all too used to by now after working with him on so many occasions. He's quite ready to handle this. ]
I remember the way exactly. If we keep going down this hall, we will encounter the usual decapitated patients, groaning and moaning as well as several other ghosts missing limbs.
[ He uses the grip on William's hand to tug him forward, remembering to hold it firmly as they head down the dark corridor. He can already hear the telltale screams up ahead which he'd thankfully grown immune to upon his last visit. ]
It's as noisy as it was last time. We should find some way to send them peacefully to the next life so they don't keep disturbing every visitor that comes.

[He might as well bit his tongue and say nothing more. William has become all to aware of his qualities as a starting adventurer, including what he lacks. And since they are working together, they might as well put all differences aside. As much as possible.
He even let's himself be pulled along, because there is no reason to let the more experienced warrior lead the way. Well Artemisia is leading the way, since she's carrying the lighting.]
They seem to run on a bit of a timer, don't they? Appearing at certain times. Like they are caught on a loop.
[He hadn't been able to think about the loops too much while exploring since previous companions had been more panicky than he was. And William had to admit he had been caught off guard once or twice.]
It makes them hard to speak with though. Though the doctor seems to be the root of most of it. So if we deal with him, it might at least calm them down.

[ He's of the opinion they should be exorcised or helped into the next life. This is ridiculous. It's utterly impossible to concentrate with them there. Not to mention having to constantly hold hands, and William's palm feels a bit too warm and wet in his hand. Or is it his? No, nonsense. He would not start sweating in an unsightly manner. He's far from terrified by the ghosts.
Mostly annoyed. ]
Let's just go straight to the doctor. I've already seen much of this, and I don't want to waste any more time.
[ It doesn't bear repeating in its entirety, though he also remembers the elf. He hadn't been able to read any of the journal pages at all before they'd vanished. That might be where the biggest clue lies. He definitely remembers where he sighted it, and he drags William along insistently before catching it scribbling in the same corner as before. ]
You-! Don't escape this time! William, try and grab it-!
[ He also moves forward to wrap his arms around the elf, narrowly missing it as it scuttles off, more pages flying in its wake, but he's far from willing to let it go entirely. ]

But for now, he'd rather just focus on getting this over with. Hold hands isn't really embarrassing at this point, just awkward and a little clammy as one would expect from prolonged contact like that. And he doesn't like being dragged around all that much. It's a relief when they find the doctor though.
The action happens all too fast though and William tries to catch it, nearly getting his hand on it's arm, but it pulls loose all too fast.]
Dammit! Let's give chase now!
[He's not letting it go this time, wherever it may lead. He's also pulling out his book, hoping that they can at least pin it down if they catch up.]
no subject
William, quickly pick them up!
[ But they're already dissolving in mid-air before any of them can move. He wonders if they'll ever get a chance to see what's in that journal, but he refuses to give up, doing all he can to corner the elf in its spot before the elf suddenly leaps over him and starts running down the halls. ]
I refuse to let him escape. I will take him in my charge no matter what so we can interrogate him. Get moving quickly!
[ With his lance still withdrawn, he takes down the hall himself, bounding in pursuit of the elf, determined and relentless. ]
no subject
Damn it all!
[He curses even as they get after him and William's flipping through the book trying to think of something.]
If I can just stun him, but the last time I tried it, it didn't work.
[And how many corners are they turning in this hospital? It suddenly feels endless.]
