notsolomon) and you!

I: Carbuncle Hunting
[It's been hours tramping through the forest and there is no carbuncle in sight. William's getting fed up with the way their noble purpose is being thwarted. Doesn't the creature value the possibility of contributing to science? But there is no point in being too cross and the day is a pleasant one, so after a moment he proposes that the two of you sit down. And enjoy the picnic basket of food he brought just for this occasion. Because you can’t work on an empty stomach. And maybe the carbuncle would like some food too. Treating it to a good meal would be a fair exchange for it's gem.]
I swore the local people said there were some of those creatures in here. Hopefully they're just shy.
II: Haunted Hospital Time [closed to Yew]
[William had come to accept the very real existence of the supernatural over a year ago. It was hard not to when you kept running into demons and angels who wanted to either A, kill you or B, wine and dine you. Of course, there were certain things he still had doubts about. Like ghosts. Though at least it was only a doubt and not a ridiculously powerful desperation to ignore the horror of reality.
But now that William was wavering, he wished to confirm the truth about spectors and this job provided the perfect opportunity. So here he was with a notebook in hand and a very unfortunate companion.]
Come on, Yew. Let’s get going. I didn’t stay up this late for you to get cold feet.
<[Is he being a bit merciless? Yes. Yes he is. Sorry bro. But it's time to push on through those hospital doors.]
II: Haunted Hospital [Open to everyone]
[Despite everything that happened the first time he went through the hospital, William’s elected to go again. After all, there are people who could surely benefit from his guidance. And he does want to read those pages he missed. The part of him that loves a good mystery is curious.
So have a fearless William with you, one who is now immune to the jump scares, because it just stops being terrifying after the tenth time. You’ll definitely be okay. For sure.]
III: Wildcard/Chilling around Blanc
[Want to hunt for something other than carbuncles? Or want to modify one of the above prompts? Go for it! We can also do non-job prompts like studying, training and even just shopping or having tea! Don’t be afraid to throw up a prompt or pm me so I can write a top level!]

But he does see that elf like figure move.]
Should we go see what it's up to? Especially since the lady seems so threatened by him?
[Even ghosts need gentlemanly intervention, alright?]
Besides, it might provide a clue.
no subject
[ Because this place couldn't be sketchier if it tried. Breathe in, Yew. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. William's right; if it has an important clue, they need to check it out, for the sake of others who've been afflicted. ]
O-Okay! If it's hurting others, we'll have to d-do something about it!
[ Except he doesn't know how to exorcise things, if it's a ghost. His knees are still shaking, but he trudges onwards with him anyway. ]
no subject
Maybe we can exorcise it or something to that effect. Or reason with it first.
[It wasn't impossible to reason with such an entity. But as they approached the area the elf had gone, there was a sense of growing chill, one that made your lungs feel heavy.]
Are you warm enough? [Or was it just him? Hopefully not, because William wasn't one to imagine he was being watched, even though that was what he felt like. As if there were a pair of cold eyes on him.]
no subject
For the most part, yes, but I do feel a bit of a chill...this atmosphere is doing us no favors. We could also huddle for body heat, if you're cold.
[ And comfortable with the idea, he leaves unspoken but heavily implied at the end. ]
no subject
I... do not think we need to huddle, but take my hand. I think keeping mana up is a good idea here.
[And it's not because he is a little unnerved or anything like that. No.]

[ With some amount of hesitation, he takes William's hand in his, removing his glove to do so. His face also tinges pink ever so slightly, since he's not used to holding hands with people and standing so close to someone to do so (besides his brother, and that was when he was younger). Still, even the mere act of holding hands with someone during these trying times calms him down, enough for his knees to stop shaking and for him to walk forward with less trepidation than before. ]

The spectral chill feels like its lessening and as they move forward, William feels better set. Until they get to the door that likely leads to their target. It's a doctor's office, though the name on the plaque is scratched out and there is a feeling of something foreboding there.]
Are you ready to go in then? We... don't have to if you think it is dangerous.
[He's suddenly feeling a lot more generous, not out of fear or concern. Definitely not.]
no subject
[ Leaving no stone unturned, and all that. He rests his hand on his rapier (as if it'll help???) just in case, and lets go of William's hand for one moment to slowly open the door, though averting his gaze from peering inside as he does so. Quickly, before his brief bout of courage leaves him! ]
no subject
[William nodded, actually feeling pretty proud of him. Stepping inside, William glanced around the room, which had what you'd expect of a doctor's office, only less tidy. A life size anatomy model was also standing in the room, right behind the desk, as if she was a confident who peered over the doctor's shoulder while he wrote. No accounting for taste.]
I imagine his desk would be the best place to look. [William said he strode over, ready to get down to business.]
no subject
[ He mutters to himself under his breath about the anatomy model. Speaking of desks and documents however, Yew spots something on the floor and squats down to try to pick up a...stray journal page that...immediately disappears. ]
What? That page was there, right?
[ ...He's not losing his sanity, right? ]
no subject
I think there was. Maybe it's important and that's why it vanished. Did you happen to see any of the writing on it?
[The papers on the desk are old and rotting and it's hard to see in this light, even with Artemisia hovering over him. And he's so focused on what he's doing that he's not paying attention to that anatomy model, which is beginning to move...]
no subject
No; it vanished too quickly.
[ It's all so strange...
Yew looks up at William, checking to see how he's faring with all this business, and he could have sworn that that anatomy model is moving. Uh-oh. ]
...William? You might want to get away from that spot. The faster, the better.
[ He's not just being paranoid this time, he swears! ]
no subject
[Some kind of spell or something? Maybe just a means to taunt them? Either way, it was all so unfair.]
What is going on Yew? Why would I...
[And suddenly, there is a hand grasping the back of his shirt as if to get his attention. Slowly William looks behind him and... oh. There it is. Grasping him, looking at him carefully. Oh.]
