Training: The Gammon edition
Who: Caren and you!
When: Gladia 10th (aka August 10th)
Where: Kickdton, Gammon
What: Caren organized a mass training session. This can only go well.
Rating: PG-13 for possible language and certainly violence. Train on!

It's not a difficult place to find, considering the directions: all heroes had to do was find Kickin' Kiwi park, and head straight for the river. There would be all sorts of helpful signs which hero worshippers may have helped set up. Watch out for the kiwi birds though, they're everywhere! In the distance, there's the Royal Foccer Fellowship Stadium. So in case one wishes to go watch some foccer practice instead, that's always an option.
But that's not what you heroes are here for, is it? You're here in the middle of a truly beautiful park for some training! There's a notice (and possibly a fan or two hovering around) stuck to a clean pile of rocks, saying for trainnees must tie a ribbon (which are in buckets, and also somehow stuck to the rocks?) to their arm, corresponding to the training they wish to take. The categories are as follow:
Healing (BLUE) Weapons (RED) Magic (PURPLE) Endurance (GREEN) Sparring (ORANGE)

Trainers are instructed to take the armbands (also found in the buckets!) of the corresponding colours of their course so not to confuse the students. However, if it turns out you are a terrible trainer, Caren will happily take away your armband and give you your own special lesson. (What that lesson is, no one wants to find out).
Don't forget to bring your heroic weapons, because training weapons are not provided. Though maybe you'll get lucky, and someone will want to teach hand to hand combat!
It's also highlighted in BOLD RED LETTERS THAT KILLING IS FORBIDDEN. Try to break this rule, and Caren will break you. Slowly.
Have your ribbon on? It's time to start that training montage!
((OOC: EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Make friends, learn a few things, and have fun!
Also please incidate in your top level if you are a trainee or a trainer!
eg The Doctor | Trainer -Magic
Donna Noble | Trainee - EVERYTHING PLEASE
Jack Harkness | Trainer - Endurance + trainee -magic))

But there are times where she's by the notice rocks, the river, where she may be taking a break or waiting for someone to come up to her. She could be drinking from a cute little juice box she took from a bag of hers, or she could even be taking out a book.
When a hero approaches her though, all items are placed to the side.]
Yes? May I help you?
[Do they want instructions from her? Or simply directions to a teacher they've been hoping to get?]

[She waves a short hello.]
So, uh... you were going to teach me about magic and stuff, right? I'm down for learning, before everything goes straight to hell.
no subject
[She snaps the book shut, and puts it away. The arm bands slide a little on her arms. Ah, well.]
I did say that. But is there a particular spell that you wanted to achieve? Or try? We could make that a goal for today.

It's interesting to see you, face to face.
[ No one said she was coming here to make friends. She had learned from this from her carrier and the network. She barely knew how to use it or paid attention to it. Fortunately for her, disclosing to her carrier so personally she wanted to learn more magic resulted in him insisting that she listen to Caren.
She was in no real position to brush it off; she was in a world that was strange to her and being in a foreign land beforehand taught her that it was best to learn what one could, in order to survive. She was still a druid and part of her upbringing was learning as much as she could. ]
I've come to see what sort of magic you had to offer.
no subject
But seeing someone with white hair was always something of a special interest for her.]
And you. I always wonder if meeting someone of similar appearance, if they are kin of another world.
[Not quite the truth, not quite a lie either. But it seemed that Regina had been seeking her, specifically.]
But I'm seeking to teach healing and invocation, with leanings towards basic training in the elemental arts.
I will warn you now, that if you are seeking to do a larger working, it would not be possible at this time. You simply do not have the power reserve yet.

He's not sure how to go about this, considering he has no idea what he's doing, but he's here and he might as well make the best of it.]
Yes, hello- I'm Apollo Justice. Would you happen to know about spear combat?
[His weapon hangs at his side, the shaft collapsed into itself to make for easy travel.]

But this new comer is a bit of a surprise, and she blinks, taken aback for a few moments. It's a rare thing. But she rallies back.]
A pleasure, Justice. I do know a thing or two of spear combat, though not as much as an expert. Enough to get you started.
[She glances at the weapon by his side.]
If you could extend it for me? I'd like to see what we're working with.

I was simply wondering if you might be willing to teach an old man about the art of healing? I've always wanted to learn!
[He paused, then, eyeing the book!]
If you're busy it's no trouble, though! I can certainly go find someone who might like to train with weapons or sparring, I'm sure!
[Far be it from him to be imposing, after all!]
no subject
[She's not used to the honorfic, but she'll go with it. Even if she doesn't know what to think about it but...ah well. It's not the first time. At least he seems to be perky?]
I'm not busy; the book is mostly to amuse myself between lessons.
[The book ends up closed, and she sets it aside, before straightening up...which doesn't look like much, especially in comparison to the larger man.]
Healing might be difficult for you, but how are you with your magic in general? Good? What about the amount of mana you can draw upon?

Meliora | Trainee- MAGIC AND HEALING AND ENDURANCE
[It's cute. It's super cute and she wants to pet it.]
[...just a little won't hurt. Nobody'll see.]
[She leans down, and tries coaxing one of the kiwi over.]
Come on. C'mere.
no subject
Pale hair, she was learning, wasn't a trait reserved for beings like her own kind in this world. Purple? She was hesitant at first, thirteen years of druidic magic may not be enough, but maybe it could be a starting point. She wasn't usually this gentle speaking to others in this world, but she approaches, slowly, her spear still resting against her shoulder. She doesn't come too close, of course, looking to the kiwi, and then to her. ]
I don't think that's going to work.

Guess it didn't.

arrival
Children and teenagers learned combat, that wasn't that of a sight. That weapon, perhaps, looked too big for someone that size. At least, with a normal human, using it would dislocate a shoulder. Interesting. She knew there were humans and nonhumans in this world from the interactions she had. All of it was strange to her, after coming from a world where humans and nonhumans were so pitted against each other, Regina was still adjusting to adorning her white hair and eyes in this world.
Still, now that One has her attention and after speaking to her before, she's drawn to her and that weapon. It's not often that curiosity gets the better of her. She circles around her, coming up to her side, almost looming over her with her height. Tapping her spear against her shoulder, she does have to ask- ]
Aren't you a little young for this?
[ Obviously, she wasn't. She wanted a reaction, she wanted to see what she would say. Certainly, if she was able to lift that weapon, it was a sign she could hold her own. ]

Healing/Student
When he feels like exercising some of his knowledge, he starts to walk around the training field, white bandage in hand. He approaches someone with a request that would sound timid if it didn't come from his voice.]
Excuse me, could I wrap this around your arm?
[As silly as it feels to treat an entirely well individual, it's not like he can ask for live volunteers to practice on. Especially under Caren's supervision.]
no subject
(What a pleasant change, this is.) ]
I had not known you'd an interest in healing, Potemkin. [ —he greets with the beginnings of a smile, extending his arm in silent affirmation: yes, please begin. ] Might I ask what inspired this?

[While confident in other areas, weapons and using them have been sorely neglected as part of the idol's skill set. So standing here, dressed sportingly cute with orange and red ribbons, Arashi has taken up a simple, non-magical sword.
While there's a new weapon on this pretty finger, throwing punches just isn't in Arashi's plans for the day. Arashi's a Queen, not a pugilist.
So back to that sword - there's some idea of how to use one, at least in a way that looks good on stage. But....]
I know there's a difference between performance and a real fight, right?
(Back to some rest... sort of)
[It's remarkable Arashi doesn't mind today's sweat, if only for the sense of accomplishment in learning so much more. Catching a breath, Arashi's taken to sitting on the river bank, boots off and pants rolled to enjoy the water flowing over tired legs.
It's not peaceful forever, though, an onlooker or two unable to resist coming closer to express their admiration, to which Arashi waves with experienced charm.]
My, that's so kind of you to say! But if you don't mind, I'm a little tired from today....
[If only another Hero were around as an excuse....]
let's get this started )o)
That certainly draws a bit of a quirked (unsure) smile from Allen at that. Well yes of course it's different... but just what kind of performances did he do with them? Allen would juggle them in his acts, but.. ]
You could say that... [ Who is this guy.
On his arm (arms), are, well—a rainbow of every color save for green. He figured that part of the magic he wanted to learn anyway. Orange and red are most prominent, though, tied high at the bicep.
But for now he smiles and extends a white-gloved hand to Arashi as if to welcome him. ]
If you'd like—try coming at me first. [ How strange, though. The Rook doesn't seem to have any weapon or sword on him, other than the clawed gauntlet he wears on his left arm. ]
I promise I'll go easy.

Shunsui Kyouraku | Trainer - weapons, sparring | Trainee - magic, healing
After affixing the red and orange bands to his right arm, he stopped to think for a moment. While his mana pool was not and would never be large, he did want to learn whatever possible regarding healing and magic! That being the case, he found blue and purple bands and, after a slight struggle to free them from the rocks they were stuck to, he manged to get them situated on his left arm.
Confusing? Perhaps a bit, but he was a very open and friendly person and would be happy to answer any questions!

So far, she hasn't met anyone near her height, but it's not unusual for her, even in her own world. Nephilim were tall beings, often referred to as giants for a reason. She's been sitting in the grass, enjoying the smell, sight, and sound of the small river nearby, watching him fumble through armbands. What catches her eye is the fact that, he too, is wearing an eye patch.
Subconsciously, she tugs her bangs over the large scar over her scar. Regina hasn't felt this self-conscious in a long time since she's felt this self-conscious. She heaves a sigh, dreading the fact that this whole training exercise is making her, gods forbid, social.
"Can't make up your mind....?" She's hoping he picks something. She's in need of a challenge.

Well...a thing. It was a thing.
Following many other trainee hopefuls to the park and she figured that if she can use any skills in one war to fight another, she should take the opportunity to do so. She did feel a little silly walking around with a large onion in hand, but being self-conscious wasn't going to get here anywhere. She held the leek close to her chest as she walked between the groups, watching people pair off to practice magic or raise swords to one another. It was in watching that something stood out--or rather, someone.
Orihime blinks, does a double take, and then outright stares. He hadn't been one of the Shinigami she spent a lot of time with, but he is a hard person to misplace.
She wasn't just seeing things, right?
"...K-Kyouraku-san?"
Sorry this took so long!
you're perfectly fine!
oh good since I'm late again, whoops!
you're fine friend, so am i!

Sasaki Kojirou, Trainer for Weapons and Sparring
[ When Kojirou's not training anyone, he's pretty much just hanging out, leaning against a big rock with a drink in hand. He seems vaguely amused by something or another, eyes taking in the entirety of the park easily.
But really, if you didn't know him, it might seem almost ridiculous that he's wearing red and orange armbands. He doesn't look like much of a warrior, a wooden sword laying at his side the only indication of what kind of weapon training he might provide. There's none of the intensity one might expect from a trained fighter, just a guy who's there'. ]
Hm? Are you seeking training?

Lola Pacini | Training for Weapons and Fisticuffs
Lola was very good at moving around, using both her weapons to her advantage. She jumped high in the air and landing on pink barriers of energy, she threw kicks and punches and... honestly they were terrible. She just didn't have the practical skills needed to throw attacks. Her barrier, while sloppy and mishapen, she did have a handle on how to use that mana well. Either as a place to land, or as a wall to interfere with someone approaching her.
However, she was also not the best at shifting her mana from her boots to her barrier, so every so often she'd crash into the ground. She'd miss the split second of time before her barrier vanished to jump, or the barrier wouldn't hold when she landed and she'd fall. It was spectacular, but... she dusted herself off and got back up. After breaking a bit of the ground with a blast of energy to not crash at full speed, that hurt.
Someone should probably offer her some advice in how to fight unarmed since her legendary weapons were not really the offensive type. And she's liable to hurt herself if she tries to kick someone like that.
Wildcard
Is also a viable choice.
