Training: The Gammon edition
Who: Caren and you!
When: Gladia 10th (aka August 10th)
Where: Kickdton, Gammon
What: Caren organized a mass training session. This can only go well.
Rating: PG-13 for possible language and certainly violence. Train on!

It's not a difficult place to find, considering the directions: all heroes had to do was find Kickin' Kiwi park, and head straight for the river. There would be all sorts of helpful signs which hero worshippers may have helped set up. Watch out for the kiwi birds though, they're everywhere! In the distance, there's the Royal Foccer Fellowship Stadium. So in case one wishes to go watch some foccer practice instead, that's always an option.
But that's not what you heroes are here for, is it? You're here in the middle of a truly beautiful park for some training! There's a notice (and possibly a fan or two hovering around) stuck to a clean pile of rocks, saying for trainnees must tie a ribbon (which are in buckets, and also somehow stuck to the rocks?) to their arm, corresponding to the training they wish to take. The categories are as follow:
Healing (BLUE) Weapons (RED) Magic (PURPLE) Endurance (GREEN) Sparring (ORANGE)

Trainers are instructed to take the armbands (also found in the buckets!) of the corresponding colours of their course so not to confuse the students. However, if it turns out you are a terrible trainer, Caren will happily take away your armband and give you your own special lesson. (What that lesson is, no one wants to find out).
Don't forget to bring your heroic weapons, because training weapons are not provided. Though maybe you'll get lucky, and someone will want to teach hand to hand combat!
It's also highlighted in BOLD RED LETTERS THAT KILLING IS FORBIDDEN. Try to break this rule, and Caren will break you. Slowly.
Have your ribbon on? It's time to start that training montage!
((OOC: EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Make friends, learn a few things, and have fun!
Also please incidate in your top level if you are a trainee or a trainer!
eg The Doctor | Trainer -Magic
Donna Noble | Trainee - EVERYTHING PLEASE
Jack Harkness | Trainer - Endurance + trainee -magic))

no subject
Oh no. You wanted a lesson.
[Cheerfully:]
If you don't come to me, I will come to you. And I might accidentally break something.
no subject
Y-You're trying to scare me on purpose.
[Except he actually believes she can back up her words.]
no subject
[Also said really cheerfully. Sure he could try to run, but she might be faster.]
But that's also a fighting tactic. Go on. Show me your ready stance, Justice.
no subject
He's trying to look somewhat confident, though. He's trying.]
no subject
But she isn't very nice to him. Instead, she lashes out, and kicks the shaft of his spear hard enough to throw him off balance.]
You're letting your fear rule you. I can see it.
Spread your legs, spread your hands. The most important thing you can do is stay on your feet. And the only way you will do that is if you keep your balance.
no subject
[He hops back, teetering for a moment as his balance is thrown completely off. He catches himself, breathing out heavily and following her orders.]
Spread my legs and hands, right.
[He tries to fix his stance, remembering what they would do in those kid's ninja shows, like the Steel Samurai. Or any martial arts movie he's ever seen. It's...better, once he takes note of his own feet.]
Like this? [He asks, holding his spear out in front of him once more.]
no subject
Still too narrow. Shoulder width apart, knees bent.
[Her eyes narrow.]
Also, you're holding the shaft too tight. Are you scared I'll kick you Justice?
no subject
And she sees this too, making him tense up.]
Y-Yes!!!! I mean, maybe a little...
[He tries to relax, but he doesn't want to get hit, and wants to be ready in case he has to move for any reason. Or would that make her mad? He doesn't know!]
no subject
Or kind in a very skewed way.]
That's normal. But here's an important thing: you can't let the fear rule you. Else you'll freeze or bolt. And that could mean you could die. Or someone you are trying to protect will die.
Relax.
[She doesn't seem mad, but she does bring her arm out, a little too fast, to strike the spear again.]
no subject
It's too bad he's let that distract him as he relaxes just as he's told. The hand that flies out to strike his spear catches him off guard, and this time given the momentum, he drops his spear completely and hops backward in surprise that she'd smacked it. He emits a small yelp, teetering and until falling straight on his butt.
He looks up at her, mouth agape. He was so not ready for that.]
no subject
There is such a thing as being too relaxed Justice.
[She sighs, and moves the weapon away from his throat. It's be bad if he got caught up in his fear.]
You're a willow branch now. Calm, centered, flexible. Surprise can also kill you. Can you stand?
no subject
I...think I can.
[He picks himself up, brushing himself off a bit, before breathing out heavily and standing before her. He's probably an awful student, but he at least can recognize not having any actual experience besides the dungeon he'd found himself in.]
Sorry. I'll try as many times as I need to until I get it right.
no subject
[She tells him that, but huffs a little, before she offers him his spear back.]
And you're going to need to practice. Especially when I'm not here. You're going to be startled and frightened in battle. Things are going to come up suddenly and try to kill or maim you.
Ready stance again.
no subject
[He takes the spear, nodding respectfully listening to her before trying again. His feet are placed a little more than shoulder width apart, one in front of the other; remembering not to grip too tightly onto his spear but enough to keep it in his hands should she try to hit it again, holding it at the ready in front of him.
And he tries to look the part too, eyebrows narrowed with concentration on what he's doing. It does look better than his last two attempts, which he's hoping for since she's gracefully teaching him.
He looks towards her for approval of his stance, only moving his eyes to do so. That and he's wondering how she'd test his balance this time.]
no subject
Slowly, she walks around him in a circle, before coming up behind him, and sliding his hands a little further apart.]
Here. Now, you see with the spear, you want to be ready to slide it forward or backwards. Try a thrust forward, slowly.
[Maybe she's not just getting her kicks terrorizing him after all.]
