[Win or fail, everyone needed a reason and a way to relax. With the fall of the towers, there was all sorts of good things to come from it. Some would say it was the birds; and others would say it was the hot springs.

The large, large pools of heated water. Sure, they could be used as a way to get all steamed up (or even steam punk) but after all that hard work, everyone deserves a break!

Bring your swimsuits, your towels, your drinks and snacks-who knows, you should be able to find them in the bazaars, or even on Airy. It's time to soak in the heat!]

[ No, that's honestly it. He's an inherently lazy person, and what better way to laze around than to relax in the hot springs? There isn't a better way, especially after a good meal. He's going to be spending quite a few hours just soaking regardless of who is around him.

You find him...

[ The water is nice. It's so nice and warm and comfortable and exactly what everyone loves in a hot spring soak. It's perfect, why would he want to move? Why would he want to leave?

When he's poked, he twitches a little and sinks a bit further into the water. A few bubbles and he inhales some water...

...and it just kind of sits there. He's not awake yet.

[.....the level of relaxed/lazy is amazing. How on earth does Minato do that? Anyone else would be flailing and coughing about now, but nope. Snoozing. Akito's...well, he's sort of impressed, but at the same time this doesn't seem like a good thing to be, so should he be impressed? He's not sure.

Thankfully he's also a good person so he'll opt for poking him harder rather than...just watching and waiting to see if he wakes up before dying] Heeey stop that, you're gunna drown! [Poke nudge poke.

Does he need to call his carrier over from where it's swimming to bite you Minato. Is that what it's going to take]

[ He has truly reached the maximum level of Chill, maybe to the point it's circling back around to being a little too chill. Biting would probably help, but luckily for the both of them, this bout of harder poking seems to do the job. (And isn't as dirty as it sounds.)

Minato stirs aaaand...inhales again, this time choking on the water, which is enough to wake him back up. His eyes fly open as he gurgles.

[Well, this wasn't what she thought would happen. Here she was, going about, making sure that she was getting back some much needed rest when...she noticed that Minato was there, under the surface. Normally she would have thought him trying to peep or something cute but...

There's no bubbles.]

[She hisses under her breath, and makes to grab him, raising him to the surface. What the hell Minato. No, seriously. What the hell. She checks his mouth for anything that could be possibly in the way, before pinching his nose shut and forcing air down his throat.

He's going to puke water on her isn't he. And when he does, she's going to drop him. Worst. Protag. Ever.]

[ Of all the stupid indeed. It's sadly not the first time Minato has nearly drowned himself in a hot spring. You'd think he would learn. Maybe he is truly narcoleptic? Nah, he's just too relaxed. Beyond relaxed.

Thankfully, she's kind enough not to leave him to his fate. But...yeah, he is totally going to cough up water on her, there's no getting around that. Sorry that's not nearly as nice as the last time they had mouth-to-mouth. But at least it's only water? ]

And Caren for her act of heroism-which she regrets-gets a mouth full of water. She jerks away, spitting some that got into her mouth out and...grabbing Minato. By the hair.]

[ She had been enjoying herself, relaxing in the spring with her swimsuit. She knows of the customs that comes with hot springs, but she thought with the vast amount of people with different customs, she would bring a swimsuit.

She hasn't thought of accompanying anyone, just to her lonesome. Of course, she does remember someone over there, but they seem to have disappeared--bubbles though. There are bubbles?

She wades through the water quickly to save him. Who can possibly be sleeping in the hot springs?! ]

Minato--[ She's... speechless. He does come off as one that dozes off often, but what the flying fuck. ]

[ This guy! This can definitely be sleeping in the hot springs. It's just a warm bath, but...bigger. A lot bigger? And thankfully with other people around to stop him from becoming a very dead Minato.

He's too far gone to hear anyone call his name, though. There's a bit of movement as the water pushes forward in front of her, letting him scoot just a few inches further on the bottom. It's enough to prompt a couple of bubbles to escape from his mouth and float to the surface.

He's...not actually dead!

But still not responsive... ]

I am sorry to disturb you, but if you must sleep, I would not recommend the hot springs be the place.

[ Let her gently shake his shoulder, seeing if she can snap him out of it? It's a gentle gesture, possibly too delicate to wake anyone up. That's when she tries again?! ]

[ Yata's happily chatting up the other locals when he spots a familiar face in the water. That guy is so lazy! But he might deserve the rest. Everyone worked hard today. But wait, he hears people can actually faint in these things. Minato... didn't faint, did he?

A little panicked by the possibility, Yata wades through the water to grab his fellow Hero by the shoulders. ]

Minato! Are you asleep? [ SHAKES HIM VIOLENTLY ] Don't sleep!

[ Sleeping is wonderful. To be fair, he's mostly dozing at this point, but it's enough to kind of let him slip in and out of consciousness. It's just so warm, so comfortable, so...perfect for a nap. A nap sounds great...

When he hears his name, he opts to ignore it. Let him sleep, let h-- ]

[ Well, he can't ignore it when someone is shaking him like that! Minato jerks awake. THIS IS NEARLY WHIPLASH. ]

[ Minato stirs awake, and Yata lights up in an instant. ]

[ Good, or else he could have seen Yata's face crumple and melt into a liter of sadness. Hot springs can't kill a man, though... ]

[ This seems to be a running pattern with Minato, falling asleep when he really shouldn't be and not waking up despite everything around him telling him to. This is the second time that Souji is just wandering around, trying to find a nice spot he can sit and relax when he sees something very wrong about the picture in front of him. To be honest, it does take him about two seconds to process it, though, because A) there's no way that a person is underwater in a hot spring, B) okay, maybe they are underwater but just enjoying it for a bit, C) why aren't there any air bubbles, D) wait, is that Minato?, and E) doesn't he have a history of just sleeping through anything?? ]

[ That right there was Souji's thought process before he leapt from just staring to immediately wading over to lift him straight out of the water. Hopefully, Minato's towel didn't float away to leave him indecent because Souji practically holds him up as high as he can so he can walk him over to a ledge or anything to sit him down and to repeatedly pat his back. C'mon, c'mon, wake up. ]

[ There are definitely a few things at work here... A) Minato can't hear him at all, B) Souji most definitely has good timing, C) he's feeling okay except for the not breathing part, D) this is a recurring issue for him, and E) his towel is also floating somewhere nearby. So that means when Souji holds him up like he's reenacting the Lion King, Minato is most definitely naked.

He doesn't wake up immediately, though. Not just being out of the water.

But when Souji starts to pat his back, it's enough to get him to cough up what water had settle in his lungs. It's not a pretty sight, but he's not trying to impress anyone right now. He just wanted a nap... ]

[She was about to get into this pool when she noticed it was already occupied, which would have ordinarily been enough to send Kaede elsewhere.

Except she vaguely recognized that person, and definitely recognized that he rather strongly resembled a corpse right now.

As much of a callous asshole as Kaede was, she wasn't about to take a bath in corpse soup. That was highly unsanitary.

The diclonius sighs in exasperation, and her left hand comes up as the air around her form started to shimmer with heat that wasn't coming from the springs. All the latent mana in the atmosphere made it easy to recall at least a few echoes of her past life.

With as brief as the spell was, only one spectral arm answered her summons, the flames poorly developed and barely outlining the vector's shape. It plunged into the water, hissing with steam as the fire was quenched—revealing the ghost-silver underneath for just a moment. The vector grabbed onto Minato's arm and shoulder, tugging him upwards and out of the water.

The vector might still burn a bit. Sorry about that friendly fire, protag.]

[ To be fair, he strongly resembles a corpse most of the time. (Ha...? No, post-death humor isn't funny when actually dying could be a thing.) Even if she's not driven by altruism, sanitation is also a valid motive for action.

He doesn't realize what's happening, not when it begins. One minute he's happily not breathing under water, warm and...well, all encompassing. But slowly, there's an increasing heat on his arm, definitely to the point that it burns. It burns much more than the water, his skin already pink from the heat, and it's more than enough to shock him out of his momentary coma.

Minato coughs up water, trying to take a deep breath in, enough to let out... ]

Ah!

[The vector stays latched onto Minato's arm as it lifts him halfway out of the water; the dim flames on its outline have reignited, but they're currently steaming away water instead of scorching him.

For the moment.]

Oh, I guess you're not dead then.

[She sounds morbidly amused and not very reverent.]

[Kaito had come to the hot springs with every intention of relaxing and soaking after a long day trekking through a sky dungeon. he deserved it, after all! as did the other heroes who braved the three-headed dragon. but what he actually does instead is. . . well.]

[which is why, when he stumbles across Minato fast sleep and clearly dead to the world, he does the only thing that any reasonable person in his shoes would do. and that is fetch a marker and return to draw on the sleeping protagonist's forehead]

It's like he was almost asking for it. . .! Heh.

[ He's really just here, hanging out, playing a dead guy to ruin people's day. Except for people like Kaito, who use the situation to their advantage. If Minato has one thing going for him, it's that he's an excellent canvas because he just will not move, even when he's being drawn on.

Really.

Kaito could probably draw more if he wanted. I mean Minato is only wearing a towel and his shoulders, at least, are out of the water. ]

[if Minato were REALLY dead or in danger of drowning, Kaito's reaction would've been way different. but as it is now. . . the sleeping protagonist provides an opportunity. the opportunity for this mischievous magician to practice drawing doves and top hats and funky stars across someone's face. it was important to keep this skill sharp, after all!]

[and once Minato's face is completely covered, he pulls back and puts a cap on the marker. his fellow hero's shoulders go unmarred for now]

[ There sure is one (1) former god gently swimming across the spring to try and restore the towel to its proper position. He has one two, but anyone who looks closely will notice that he is, ah, lacking several parts.

BUT. The important thing is that he manages to get the towel to float back over Minato. Getting the boy to not drown, however... ]

Minato. Awaken.

[ That's very kind of Lord Light to be thinking not only of Minato's safety but also his decency. Granted, Minato doesn't have much shame to begin with, but there are likely others that appreciate it.

A few stray bubbles come up from his mouth. It doesn't seem like he'll wake up with simple commands. He's a rebel, or just that deep in sleep. ]
