[Open] It's getting hot in here

Who: Caren and anyone visiting the hot springs!
When: Post dungeon, could be right after fail/success, could be days after
Where: Hot Springs of course
What: There's a hot springs, so now there's a hot springs episode.
Rating: Could be a p-13 and beyond because some people are only wearing towels in this place.

[Win or fail, everyone needed a reason and a way to relax. With the fall of the towers, there was all sorts of good things to come from it. Some would say it was the birds; and others would say it was the hot springs.

The large, large pools of heated water. Sure, they could be used as a way to get all steamed up (or even steam punk) but after all that hard work, everyone deserves a break!

Bring your swimsuits, your towels, your drinks and snacks-who knows, you should be able to find them in the bazaars, or even on Airy. It's time to soak in the heat!]

[Kaito had come to the hot springs with every intention of relaxing and soaking after a long day trekking through a sky dungeon. he deserved it, after all! as did the other heroes who braved the three-headed dragon. but what he actually does instead is. . . well.]

[decide to cause a bit of mischief]

[which is why, when he stumbles across Minato fast sleep and clearly dead to the world, he does the only thing that any reasonable person in his shoes would do. and that is fetch a marker and return to draw on the sleeping protagonist's forehead]

[YOU BROUGHT THIS ON YOURSELF, FRIEND]

It's like he was almost asking for it. . .! Heh.

[ He's really just here, hanging out, playing a dead guy to ruin people's day. Except for people like Kaito, who use the situation to their advantage. If Minato has one thing going for him, it's that he's an excellent canvas because he just will not move, even when he's being drawn on.

Really.

Kaito could probably draw more if he wanted. I mean Minato is only wearing a towel and his shoulders, at least, are out of the water. ]

[if Minato were REALLY dead or in danger of drowning, Kaito's reaction would've been way different. but as it is now. . . the sleeping protagonist provides an opportunity. the opportunity for this mischievous magician to practice drawing doves and top hats and funky stars across someone's face. it was important to keep this skill sharp, after all!]

[and once Minato's face is completely covered, he pulls back and puts a cap on the marker. his fellow hero's shoulders go unmarred for now]

Oooooi.

[he nudges Minato's shoulder with his foot]

Wake up, Sleeping Beauty!

[ As promised, Minato doesn't even move. It's actually a little disturbing. How much can this guy really sleep through? What types of natural and unnatural disasters? (Does Kaito count as an unnatural disaster?)

The nudge stirs him, though. Minato opens his eyes, blinking sleepily as he looks up at the other boy.

Totally unaware of how dumb he looks. ]

...Mm?

[Kaito is totally an unnatural disaster. that's a magician for you. either way, he gives his fellow hero a cheerful wave once he wakes up]

What is it with you and falling asleep in the most inconvenient of places?

[he's just saying, he remembers the mermaid story]

[ He should really start keeping tabs of all the inconvenient places he's fallen asleep. Minato doesn't see anything wrong with it, though. He rubs his eye. Was that marker permanent? ]

It was comfortable and I got sleepy.

[thankfully, it is not permanent. Kaito is not that mean, although it might take a bit of scrubbing to wash off]

You can't be blame for either of those, but a few more minutes and I would've been worried about you drowning.

[he says that surprisingly nonchalantly, like OKAY KAITO SHOULDN'T YOU TREAT THAT TOPIC WITH A BIT MORE SERIOUSNESS?]

Not that anyone here would've let that happen, but still.

[ Minato? Drown in a hot spring? PERISH THE THOUGHT except it's happened on multiple occasions. Good thing Kaito is such a BRO he has nothing to worry about with him around. ]

It's happened.

[ He says easily. And yawns, yet as he drops his hand back down, he does see a strange smudge on the heel of his palm. ]

...Huh.

["nothing to worry about." yes. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AT ALL. Kaito maintains an innocent expression when he notices the smudge on Minato's palm and very purposefully doesn't call attention to it ( '-')]

I'm beginning to wonder if you need to carry a pillow and a blanket around with ya wherever you go. Just in case.

[emergency nap supplies]

[ Emergency nap supplies seem like a good idea, yes. In theory. ]

They'd just get wet.

[ In the spring. Although, any sort of...floaty pillow might be nice.

He pulls his hand back under water to see if the smudge will wash off. ]

[the smudge probably does wash away, but not without a bit of work]

Make 'em waterproof.

[he gives a sage nod]

[because waterproof napping supplies are things you can just buy at the store on a regular average Tuesday]

[ Minato considers it for a moment before sniffing, then rubs his nose. ]

Like an inflatable alligator?

[ Yet, as he drops his hand, there's another smudge... ]

...Huh.

[the case of the mysteriously appearing smudges. how long will it be before Minato realizes something is up]

Or an inflatable dolphin, if you like dolphins better than alligators. Or-- aha!

How d'you feel about orcas?

[ He's getting close... ]

...I like them all. But I'd want a whale shark.

[ He reaches up to wipe his face and, sure enough, there's another smudge. ]

...Is there something on my face?

[innocently]

Why would there be anything on your face?

[except his innocent act makes him seem even guiltier, tbh]

[ Yeah, it sure does. Minato narrows his eyes. ]

That doesn't answer my questions.

[it takes all of his willpower not to burst out laughing on the spot. thank goodness his poker face is so sound]

I don't see anything. I could get you a mirror so you could check for yourself, if you don't believe me.

[ Well, does he have a choice? ]

...Yeah. Do that.

Great!

[a beat]

[there's a playful note in his voice when he next speaks]

. . . only problem is I have no clue where they keep the mirrors around here.

[how cruel of him. to offer Minato a mirror, only to next say that he has no clue where to get one. he might be enjoying this little round of teasing a bit too much]

[ ...Kaito is up to something.

He's totally up to something. ]

What a tragedy.

[ But not surprising. ]

It's like you don't remember what bathrooms look like.

[this next question? actually a genuine one]

. . . do you really think a bathroom here would have a supply of handheld mirrors stored in it?

[I mean. it's possible!! he doesn't actually know and hadn't really thought about it before]

[ Hm...he does have a point.

Minato looks around, noticing another hero lounging nearby. She's got a bag with her. ]

See if she has one.

[WHO IS THIS MYSTERIOUS LOUNGING HERO. Kaito follows Minato's gaze, but doesn't approach quite yet]

You don't think it'd be weird for me to ask, right out of the blue, "Hey! Can I borrow your handheld mirror?"

[ THE POOR UNFORTUNATE COLLEAGUE OF THEIRS has no idea how she's going to help. But clearly she'll be willing to do it when she's called to action. ]
