[ SLEEPING BEAUTY AWAKES...
Feeling kinda shitty. Yoon has no idea when he ended up in his bed or how long he's slept, but he feels stiff and groggy and still-drained even as he drags himself out from under the covers. The last things he remembers are foggy. Was he sick? Did he train too hard and pass out from mana exhaustion?
Eventually, Yoon gets up and manages to get dressed -- casual pants, a loose tunic and scarf -- and wanders slowly over toward the Queen hall where his friends live to see if anyone is around.
Maybe he comes knocking on the door, or maybe he runs into someone before he even gets there?? It is a mystery. ]
June 3 | Closed to Sion:
[ Just because he somehow managed to pass out for a couple of weeks for no reason (creepy?!) is no reason to slack off on his training. In fact, now Yoon feels like he has even more catching up to do. He'd called Sion shortly after waking up to apologize for being unable to keep up with his training, and on Sion's insistence that Yoon get some good rest first, they'd arranged for a meeting a few days later.
Thus far, they've been at it for a while already, practicing in an open clearing outside of the capital, on the outskirts of the scattered villages that border it. The weather is pleasant today, sunny without being too hot, and the meadow is in bloom, painted with wildflowers.
Yoon kneels in the grass, notebook in his lap awaiting instruction. Sion said they might start on some new concepts today if he's ready. ]
june 1!!
Yoon?
!!!
Wha--!
[ But he manages not to crash! Barely. Yoon catches himself against the wall instead, squinting at the woman. ]
You're Jae-Ha's roommate.
:>!!!!
Yes, that is me. [She nearly said "And you're his mother" which is how Jae-ha often described him. But!! She stopped herself. Just in time.] Are you feeling alright?
no subject
For some reason, Yoon gets the desire to go punch Jae-Ha very soon...]I- I guess. I think I passed out. Just feeling a bit groggy.
[ An uncertain, awkward pause. He clears his throat. ]
Sorry, this is going to sound like a really stupid question, but what's... the date?
I think someone messed with my calendar in my room.
no subject
He probably always deserves it anyway.]Passed out?
[Vietnam hasn't found out much about those who pass out for long periods of time, so she only assumed he slept awfully the night before. Which is why the question does confuse her.]
June 1st...a-ah, Rosa 1st. [She's been trying to remember the months.] What day did you...last remember?
no subject
[ So it's true. Now that's a hell of a thing to wrap your head around, sleeping for two weeks straight. No wonder he feels terrible. He must be horribly dehydrated and starving-- though, actually, he doesn't feel that awful. What the hell?
Yoon's gone a little pale, staring at her. ]
About two weeks before that.
no subject
Y-you were asleep for two weeks?
[At least that is what she thinks he's implying, and it's a dark feeling.]

And so, they find themselves in meadowland just outside of the Capital, a light wind cavorting happily throughout the sea of wildflowers. ]
You may close your notebook, Yoon. [ It tousles his hair, the breeze, picking up the loose white-as-snow locks and carrying them away into the air, the gossamer strands catching the sunlight. ] What we are to discuss next requires no documentation, but rather...
[ Seamlessly, he kneels beside his student, his palms pressed to the earth itself. ]
...that you simply be able to feel. [ He casts Yoon a sidelong glance, his golden eyes gentle but clearly at play. ] Come. Join me, then.
Feel for the mana in the blades of grass, the flowers, and the ground which is home to them both.

[ He doesn't quite mean to sound skeptical, but it comes out like that at first anyway. Still, Yoon obediently puts aside his notebook and pen as bidden and sits up on his knees with his hands in the grass like Sion is doing. ]
Like this?
[ He stares at Sion, wiggling his fingers in the dirt a bit. ]
The mana in... the ground?
[ Yoon turns his attention down to his hands, watching the grass for a moment before closing his eyes to try to do what has been asked of him by his teacher. Memorizing things is much easier than this; feeling stuff seems so inexact. He's been working on his meditation, though, and Yoon clears his mind, focusing on feeling for the energy in the earth.
This seems like the sort of thing Ik-Soo would be good at. The thought distracts him for a few moments before Yoon can push the pang of missing him away again. He's worried, but he has to remain logical about this. The best he can do is adapt and hope to get home again soon. ]

Much like my homeland, magical energy binds everything in this realm together. As we Heroes may cast magic by focusing the mana within ourselves, through trial and... [ Ah, here he gives pause, his smile softening as he laughs in remembrance at a far-away thought: ] ...admittedly a fair portion of error, I found that it is possible to call upon the mana of the earth itself for the purpose of healing allies.
[ Truly, it is not so different than using the energies of his homeland—seirei—to weave equations and compositions of magic formations. ]
To do so, one needs only to ask.
[ And ask the King does, but in a language old and long forgotten, its soft intonations echoing, for a moment, before they are answered in kind: a rush of energy surges forth from the soil beneath Yoon's fingers, flowing through him, and the area surrounding, in renewal. All at once, the colors of the meadowland seem more vibrant, and if any of Yoon's two weeks of sleep lingered with him still, he'll find himself energetic. Revitalized. ]
That is what you are searching for, Yoon.
no subject
That's amazing!
[ He looks up at Sion, eyes bright and determined. Any lingering pallor in his cheeks is gone, replaced with flushed excitement at the chance to learn something so wonderful. If he can draw on the earth for mana, that will be so efficient! ]
I just have to... feel the mana in the earth? And ask?
Teach me the incantation you said, Sion!
no subject
[ Somehow, he cannot help but be endeared to it, Yoon's determination and zeal to to learn. The younger man is so intent upon his studies that it manifests in the most charming furrow of his brow—it's good to see his student in such high spirits, and better still to see him recovered form his bout of sleep and well. ]
Then, you must shape the spell as you would any other magic. First by asking, then by giving the request shape with an incantation of your own design.
[ The language that he'd spoken, the words that he'd used... no one should intone it but him. It is simply best that way.
Lifting a hand from the ground with an elegant sweep of motion, he pokes at Yoon's arm in play. ]
Do not worry so much about the words, but rather the intent behind them. Whatever spell you give life to, it will be your own, and it will be right.
I am glad, though, that you think the pursuit of such magic to be worthwhile.

[ Asking, requesting, putting his own personal touch to it. He's still getting the hang of that part. After all, it's easier to memorize than to create, but Yoon is a diligent and smart young man; he'll figure it out.
He's also excited about learning and a little overconfident, so he might jump ahead more often than he should.
The poke makes him jump a bit. ]
Of course! It sounds incredibly useful! If I can make use of the mana in the earth instead of depending only on my own stores, that opens up so many possibilities.

Walking forward, he puts a hand on Yoon's shoulder after approaching in near silence.]
Yoon.

Wah--!
[ Yoon jumps, nearly loses his balance, and rounds on Shin-Ah mid-yelp. ]
What the hell do you think you're--?!
[ ...
Oh. It's Shin-Ah! The anger fizzles into relief almost immediately. Thank goodness. ]
Shin-Ah! D-don't sneak up on me like that!
no subject
When Yoon does recognize him, he tilts his head to the side like a confused puppy.
What? He said your name. Wasn't that enough warning?
Shin-Ah's getting better and people-ing but he still sucks at it okay.]

[ Yoon leans against the wall with a sigh, rubbing his face. He feels heavy, still. ]
Have you seen Jae-Ha?
no subject
Are you...okay?
no subject
I think someone cursed me or something!
[ Because magic is the only way someone can pass out for that long... ]

i see you made a prompt... GENTLY ATTACKS///
He lowers the milk bottle once he spots a familiar face though, looking over with a curious pair of eyes. It's been a while since he saw this boy... Yoon, was it? He remembered them yelling that name all over Jae-ha's party.
To greet Yoon, Setsuna nods a little respectfully. ]
iyaaa... ////
He stops, scowling, clearly weighing his options-- and then strides toward Milk-Boy with determination! No, actually he sort of staggers that way. He still feels like shit. ]
You! You were at Jae-Ha's party...
I have a question for you.
you're so cute, damn >:c thanks for the lovely msg before ;;
Anyway, there's something more important to think about now. To witness Yoon stagger on his steps easily worry Setsuna. He moves off the wall, almost ready to step forward should the younger Hero show further signs of falling over. Did something happen to him?
Before he could ask though, the boy is the one who tosses a question first. ]
What is it?
what. what is this?! (you're welcome...)
How long have you been in this place? I need to know if you've heard of a curse that makes people go to sleep for an inordinately long period of time.
[ Who does he get to yell at for this ridiculous waste of his time?! ]
no subject
I have been here for five months now. And indeed, I have heard and seen of those sudden sleep comas.
no subject
[ He'd just been asking out of nowhere, not even expecting an answer, so this is good news!! Yoon looks slightly more energized by the prospect of answers. ]
Tell me what you know!
