[open] lookin' for the love getaway.
Who: Gilgamesh and everyone visiting Heaven's Feel!
When: 5/1—5/8
Where: Caissa, Heaven's Feel storefront
What: The grand opening of Heaven's Feel, Caissa's premier matchmaking service, has arrived! Stop by for food, drinks, and some friendly fun with your fellow Heroes! ...or maybe even pick up a date, who knows.
Rating: General audiences, except for Gil's threads because he was pretty much making out with everyone. Tread carefully.
Heaven's Feel

[Maybe you've heard, or maybe you haven't, but there's a new business in town. It's plastered everywhere, posted on the side of every building and shouted from the end of every street corner in Caissa. Heaven's Feel, Heaven's Feel, come fly with the angels at Heaven's Feel! Really, who writes something so cheesy? The owner must be a real piece of work, you think, yet there's something enticing about the sound of it...
If you do decide to stop by within the first week of May, you'll find a massive celebration awaiting you: the celebration of opening day! Eager workers wave down anyone who gets close, with offers of wine tasting, sweet treats, and even speed dating. The store's interior bustles with activity as visitors fill out cute little survey cards in hopes of a hook-up. The owner in question can be found mingling in the crowd, bartending, and drawing charcoal caricatures of couples for a nominal fee.
Overall, the atmosphere is one of excitement. Hop right in! There's plenty of room for lounging on the cushy furniture, and plenty of time to find your own hottie.
...or perfectly platonic friend. Look, we're not judging or anything.]

He avoids all other strains of thought (the network post, the bowing employees, etc) by focusing on what's important: the wine. He's already had a glass, and he's onto number two. Adra does not drink often, so even this little bit of rosé has him apple-cheeked and grinning at anyone who comes near him.
He's hanging out by one of the sweets tables, sipping his drink rather more quickly than he ought to, feeling pleasantly warm and soft around the edges. ]
Good afternoon, my friend. I hope you like--
[ He gestures, a little wobbly, to the tables. ]
--what I've done. With all this. Truly, I do.
[ He leans forward, eyes bright. Deeply interested. Possibly about to fall directly onto you. ]
no subject
...Speaking of looks.
He narrows his eyes at Adra's face as he licks a cupcake crumb away from the corner of his mouth. ]
I think I dreamed about punching you in the face the other night.
[ hello to you, too, kavi ]
no subject
Well, I'm sure you wouldn't be the first person to do that.
[ He feels warm and bleary, and as such this seems like a perfectly normal conversation. He did happen to incite punches with some frequency back home--just not for the same reasons as his brother. ]
What subconscious offense did I cause you, hmmm? Are you, by chance, some manner of nobleman? Executioner, warmonger, sycophant?
no subject
...This one looks a lot more twiggy. Any tipsy. Really tipsy. Better keep an eye on that. ]
Decided to drain some of my mana. You felt entitled to it, I guess. Didn't give me any solid reasons but then again, it was an odd dream. You were a lot taller, too.
no subject
You dreamed of--Aurelius?
[ What did that mean? Was it a portent? Light. Light. ]

Though when he approaches her, she gives him a once over and--]
Adrasteius, how many drinks did you have--
[WAIT HE'S TOPPLING. She catches him just before he does.]
no subject
[ Whoa--he trips as he leans forward, and does in fact tumble right against her arms. Light help him. He coughs nervously, his cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red than before. ]
--one. And a half.
[ He looks up at her, chagrined, trying to disentangle himself. At least his face is pretty. ]
no subject
She's trying to help him up now, but she figures it's probably easier to just hold him for a moment while he's trying to stand up.
It's true, his face is very pretty.]
I think you need to sit down. Everyone's already mingling, so you can have a break.

Adra clears this throat as his embarrassment levels rise to a toxic level; if he feels any more shame, he might just expire right there in her arms. But no. He gets hold of himself, manages to stand upright (for a minute, anyway), and exhales. ]
That might be a good idea.
[ He squints beyond her, blearily. Couch? Couch. He starts shambling in the vague direction of some unoccupied furniture. ]

Hey, Adra! [ A bright, friendly smile for the elf who presumably made the delicious confections in front of them. But that smile falls into concern as the elf starts to fall directly onto him and he puts the cake down to catch him... ]
Whoa! You okay, buddy?
no subject
Not ... so much, no.
[ He blinks up at Wukong, clearing his throat, realizing he's never actually touched the other man (monkey) before. ]
Your fur is really soft.
[ Did you know that, Wukong? ]
no subject
[ Is he smooth? No, he's just being honest. Best to be very critical about grooming, one never knows when it may come in handy. ]
... did you make all of these cupcakes, Adra?
[ He asks, as he tries to get him back to a normal position, reaching back to support the baker's back. ]
no subject
I did, yes.
[ He adds, after a beat, because he's clearly just saying whatever set of words he can hold onto at present -- ]
It was quite a bit of work, but people seem pleased. So--I'm glad.

[Someone is hammered. She shook her head at him, and gently, as if it were by mere accident, stepped to the side, so she could wrap her arm about his waist. Mana exchange, possibly making Gilgamesh notice, and keeping Adra from harm? Triple win.]
But please. Tell me. We can eat whatever creations you so desire.
[If he's drinking on an empty stomach, it's likely the cause of him being tipsy. Silly elf. Can't get drunk on the light stuff, when there were heartier versions around.]
no subject
Stop that--I don't need that--
[ He reaches for something, anything, to steady himself--something that is not Caren's body. ]
no subject
Calm yourself, Adrasteius.
[Be thankful. She'll even make sure one is empty, just for you. Though his wobbling does not help with keeping him steady.]
You wouldn't want to make a scene. Other people might come by to help.

The smell of delicate sweets only made things worse. Hovering toward the confectionaries, she turns when she hears someone acknowledge her and... oh, oh dear. She knew that look. She often saw it when a nobleman or woman decided to down one too many flutes of champagne.
Please don't fall over on her. Or lose your lunch. ]
Oh, ah, yes, it's quite...
[ Lux leans back slowly. Personal space, friend. Please respect it. ]
no subject
--I'm all right, really! It's just been a while since I've had anything to drink that wasn't water. Or tea. Or ...
[ He rubs his head. ]
Similar.
no subject
Would you like me to get you some water?
[ Just promise that you won't keel over in the meantime, please. ]

Plus, there's alcohol. Bolin's only had the finer drink a few times in his life: the sups that the Triple Threat guys would sneak him somethings as a kid (while Mako wasn't watching); and the exquisite selection that the Beifongs had at their parties, which Bolin had only been allowed in the past year, and in moderation. Varrick knew a thing or two about expensive drinks as well, and the handful of times that Bolin had actually overindulged were thanks to his good friend.
Alcohol is fancy and expensive, and it brings a great curiosity to Bolin's eyes to see it all around like this for free. So he's a glass or couple more than necessary.
He leans in toward Adra as if whispering: ] Yeah! Definitely! [ Though his volume isn't reduced in the least. ] The cupcakes are so good, Adra. You're so good at so much stuff!
[ Really!! ]
no subject
Haaardly. For example, I'm terrible at staying upright recently. This isn't even the wine. This is just something that keeps happening.
[ He nearly dropped two trays of cupcakes just in setting up--and he did trip several times on his walk over this morning. The alcohol isn't helping, of course, but it's certainly not the sole culprit. ]
no subject
[ Both his eyebrows go up at hearing that, and he leans back while reaching out to press a finger to Adra's shoulder, as though he could keep the man upright with just the one.
(Though really, Adra's so lightweight that he probably could.) ]
I've got you. [ He says, sincerely. While he's not as good at supporting others as Adra is, he's!! Going to do his best!! ]

He clutches at his chest as his stumbles out, away, heading for the street. The wine thrums in his veins, not nearly so present as before but not entirely out of his system yet, either. He aches, inside and out. It's a tremendous effort not to turn back towards that couch.
But he manages it, somehow, by moving quickly and blindly. He's so unfocused, in fact, that he nearly crashes right into someone, just as he's about to spill out onto the sidewalk. ]
Oh--I'm--I'm sorry--
[ It's not like him to stammer. But he's flushed, anxious, desperate. He swallows hard, and looks up. ]
no subject
His thoughts are interrupted by Adra all but crashing into him, and he instinctively reaches forward to grab the other person by the shoulders, to hold them steady.
He doesn't expect for it to be-- Adra? He leans down to get a better look at him, eyes wide. ]
Adrasteius? What's the matter? Did someone mess with you? [ He looks distressed and out-of-sorts, and it isn't just the usual embarrassment he'd chalk up to Adra finding himself in a place like this. ]
no subject
I'm fine.
[ He cringes at Jae-ha's hands on his shoulders; his heart palpitates. It's debilitating, this fear. Embarrassing, too. But he has no counter for it; no way to stop it. So he just breathes. ]
I'm perfectly fine. Just--need to go home.
