[open] lookin' for the love getaway.
Who: Gilgamesh and everyone visiting Heaven's Feel!
When: 5/1—5/8
Where: Caissa, Heaven's Feel storefront
What: The grand opening of Heaven's Feel, Caissa's premier matchmaking service, has arrived! Stop by for food, drinks, and some friendly fun with your fellow Heroes! ...or maybe even pick up a date, who knows.
Rating: General audiences, except for Gil's threads because he was pretty much making out with everyone. Tread carefully.
Heaven's Feel

[Maybe you've heard, or maybe you haven't, but there's a new business in town. It's plastered everywhere, posted on the side of every building and shouted from the end of every street corner in Caissa. Heaven's Feel, Heaven's Feel, come fly with the angels at Heaven's Feel! Really, who writes something so cheesy? The owner must be a real piece of work, you think, yet there's something enticing about the sound of it...
If you do decide to stop by within the first week of May, you'll find a massive celebration awaiting you: the celebration of opening day! Eager workers wave down anyone who gets close, with offers of wine tasting, sweet treats, and even speed dating. The store's interior bustles with activity as visitors fill out cute little survey cards in hopes of a hook-up. The owner in question can be found mingling in the crowd, bartending, and drawing charcoal caricatures of couples for a nominal fee.
Overall, the atmosphere is one of excitement. Hop right in! There's plenty of room for lounging on the cushy furniture, and plenty of time to find your own hottie.
...or perfectly platonic friend. Look, we're not judging or anything.]

Adra clears this throat as his embarrassment levels rise to a toxic level; if he feels any more shame, he might just expire right there in her arms. But no. He gets hold of himself, manages to stand upright (for a minute, anyway), and exhales. ]
That might be a good idea.
[ He squints beyond her, blearily. Couch? Couch. He starts shambling in the vague direction of some unoccupied furniture. ]

It's okay, he can use her as support! After all, she's smaller than him so it won't even look awkward. Which is why she stands next to him the whole time, making sure she can support him as she helps him towards the spare seat.]
Here! [And helps him sit down.] You'll need water too, I can go get you some.

It seems like you're always taking care of me, V. You don't have to ...
no subject
It is fine. I take care of you because you are my friend. [She really doesn't give much thought about this. In a way, the way she carefully takes care of someone without thinking is her way of being reckless.]
I will be back soon. [She pauses.] Don't close your eyes.
[And quickly walks away. Reason why she warned him is that some of the single ladies are giving him a good once over. DON'T LET THEM APPROACH YOU, ADRA.]
no subject
And then one of said ladies approaches him, her expression hardly shy.
"Is this seat taken?" she says, trying to squeeze in next to him, grinning at him in a way that he finds hugely discomfiting. ]
Don't--

Vietnam managed to return just in time, a glass of water in her hand as she, with her small frame, squeezes right between them and sits down, crossing one leg over the other before turning to hand Adra the drink.]
Here, you must hydrate yourself.
[And practically ignores the lady who was ready to flirt with him.]

When she comes back and rescues him, yet again, he swallows hard, over a lump in his throat. He finds his mouth is exceptionally dry. ]
Th--thank you.
[ The woman, now intercepted, strides off in a huff. ]
In more ways than one.
[ He sips, and murmurs. ]
I'm sorry to make you keep doing this. You must find me pathetic.
no subject
And when she looks at Adra, her expression softens immediately.]
I apologise for having left you for too long. [She didn't want to take him with her while he could've been resting though. Now he can close his eyes, if he wished. After he finishes his water.]
I do not find you pathetic at all. I found you very admirable when we went and did that job together. It was your knowledge that found us a new friend.
And really, I do it because you are my friend. Also...I think people are really drawn to you. I'm a little bit intimidating, so it is just easier. [He's ethereal and beautiful, and he cares and people can sense that. She's got borderline bitchy resting face and sometimes she's not as nice as she makes herself out to be.]

[ He shakes his head, 'no'. ]
Funny joke, V. I got shoved in the fountain again yesterday.
[ He leans back against the chair, sipping the water, eyes already half closed. ]
But I'm happy I was able to help you. I'm happy if I can help anyone.
[ He gestures with one hand to the people milling about. ]
That's why I agreed to all this, in the end.
no subject
Again? How many times has this been happening?
[She looks disgruntled, but she's not pushing him only because he sat back, looking like he needs to sleep.]
I noticed, though. I hear everyone praising your hard work. Someone named Potemkin, for example! Your hard work paid off. I believe some people only came here for the free food.
no subject
Well, sure. Everyone needs to eat.
[ He runs a hand through his hair. ]
As to the fountain ... a few times a week. Ever since I was awarded this little badge, here.
[ He taps his 'king' symbol. Is there a connection ... ]
no subject
Ah yes. And also they would like good food.
[...A few times a week?!]
You think it is related to becoming a King?
no subject
Mildly. ]
Which they can get anywhere, really.
[ He rolls his shoulder. Beneath his uniform, he's a little bruised up, these days. ]
I'm not sure. Maybe the rank just makes me stand out? It's damned inconvenient, in any case.
no subject
Yours is different, Adrasteius. You can trust my opinion on this, because I have eaten...a lot. [And she cooks a lot too, but the point is, she's just been trying out all kinds of food in Caissa. And Capablanca.
She wonders if he's tired. Does he need some healing? Mana? She's not sure. so she leans against him, making sure that some mana manages to channel through, whispering an apology all the same.]
But why you, when all you do is help? I can think of others who should be more likely to be pushed into the water. [Like herself. Sometimes she scares men.]
no subject
I couldn't tell you. Maybe they just don't like my ears.
[ Said ears twitch, as though independent, and personally offended. ]
