[ Well maybe not, but they're just as distressed as he is??? ]

You may change your mind. This has only just started, after all.

[ She finishes speaking when a loud, piercing scream starts from in front of them. One ghost is clawing at the window, and while it's hard to see it looks like its hands might be bleeding from the effort.

Don't take me next... don't take me NEXT!

She's screeching the words out, looking back at them in horror, too. Or... is it something behind them? :) ]

[ leo's words are firm, and so is his grip on sonia's hand. ]

Sonia, don't look back. Don't ever look back, got it? Let's just look for what we can, and if we find anything important enough, we take it and go.

[ he plans on making sure sonia gets out of here safe, though. he's fine if it's just him who gets put in danger, but not sonia. his intentions are still unknown, though. ]

We'll start the mana exchange to be safe, too. Let's do it slowly.

[ Her own hand is relaxed though, because even if something happens here, she's 100% sure that she will not die. Her heart does not have room for that kind of fear, it will only be after when they're safe and outside that she'll crumble. ]

Leo, please do not panic. There is no need for that. [ She does the mana exchange though, as per instruction. It would be a good idea, as it seems like they might have to use a few spells in this sordid place. ]

Would you like to speed up your steps?

Yeah.

[ do not panic, sonia says... sure. like that's easy! there's still some desperation in his tone, but the breath of relief he exhales should show that he's trying hard not to freak out. ]

Let's go.

[ he'll practically do whatever sonia says now at this point just so he doesn't freak her out by freaking out too much. ]

[assent]

[ Well, considering she's stared down giant robots with huge ass guns and a number of weirdass things... a ghost or two isn't the worst. She might change her mind later, but for now... this is like something out of a movie. It's actually more exciting than terrifying. ]

Very well.

[ She picks up her pace, the heels of her shoes clicking a little as she walks faster. ] We should try and find a lab, or perhaps the office of whoever was in charge here.

A lab, yeah.

[ or an office! there's got to be one at least on this floor. he's been to a hospital loads of times a child because of his mother's condition. this may not have the same layout, but he can remember how hospitals work, at least. he can remember them very well.

they pass by a room where the door is open. a woman is by the corner, crying and weeping to herself. don't let him get me, she cries. ]

Do you want to look at her room?

[ if there's something "he" can get from her, there must be something there, right? ]

[ Probably. She's been in a small hospital recently, but that didn't have as much as this, not to mention it had been a place she hadn't been able to visit in detail due to an outbreak. No one wants a disease made by Monokuma lbr. ]

I don't think she has anything physical, but we can check.

[ She turns towards the room, using her weapon to nudge the door open further. ]

[ sonia may have opened the door further but it's leo who steps in first. the room has blood all over. there's even hand prints of blood on the walls. it's messy and it reeks. and there's a piece of paper on top of one of the puddles of blood in the room. it's clean, as if it was just put there before they entered.

leo doesn't let go of sonia and instead tugs her hand gently to lead her to where the piece of paper is. it's the only thing noteworthy in the mess of a room, after all. he picks it up, but it's... ]

Haunted paper. Good to know.

[assent]

[ She sighs softly as she looks at the state of the room. It's horrid how familiar this all feels. She follows him along as he pulls her, glancing back at the door worriedly. One of them has to keep watch at least, just to be sure nothing follows them in. ]

Haunted paper?

I was about to grab it.

[ he points at the spot where the paper once was. ]

It disappeared.

[assent]

I was watching the door, I apologise. [ She looks nervous. ] Do you think it was important?

[ Well if it disappeared, probably. ]

[slotted]

It seemed new. And it didn't look like a hospital document.

[ he looks at the door now, too. thankfully there's nothing there. but the woman who has been crying this whole time has stopped and is now just staring at them. ]

[assent]

What did it look like? [ Sonia asks it quietly, glancing at the woman who was crying before, giving her a gentle smile. ]

Please do not worry, we are not here to harm you.

[ gj Sonia ]

Like a diary.

[ even leo sounds confused. ]

Maybe from another patient.

[ he'll let her deal with the ghost. he's not interested... and also he's kind of scared, thanks. ]

[assent]

[ Sonia doesn't look back or let go of him, tightening her grip just in case. ]

A page from a diary?

[ Her head tilts as she looks at the ghost, giving her a tiny smile. ]

Please, we want to help you. Was this your room here?

Something like that, I couldn't make what was on it.

[ BECAUSE IT DISAPPEARED!!! the lady just nods because screaming again though, then goes back to crying in fetal position. ]

Is there anything we can do?

[ to help her. he doesn't like what he's seeing. ]

[ Sonia slowly shakes her head. ]

I do not believe so. We should... try another room. I do feel uneasy staying in this room.

[ She tugs lightly on Leo's hand then, gripping it tighter, because it's like being displaced in time, seeing flashes of what has happened to this poor woman. ]

[ yeah, that stuff is going to play in leo's head every day now. what a great job this is!!! ]

Come on, then.

[ to another room! where there seems to be a middle aged man screaming and trying to get out of the room via the closed window.]

[ Good luck, Leo. You didn't want to believe they existed. Sonia has to shove her weapon under her arm to press her hand against her mouth though when she sees the man. The feeling of wanting to escape is incredible, but also... suicide. Death. Wanting it all to end. Maybe that is how it really happened, she doesn't know. ]

Leo, is that another?

[ She does see a paper on the bed though, reaching for it--but yet again the papers disappear. ]

[ leo's actually trying to look for other kinds of clues now when sonia calls his name. he turns to her, a bit worried. ]

Did you see something?

[assent]

Another paper. It disappeared again, I'm afraid to say.

[ This seems useless, especially when they can't freely survey the room with having to keep up the mana exchange at the same time. ]

[slotted]

[ he pauses for a bit, even going so far as to let go by accident to scratch his chin. ]

Maybe we were being too slow. The moment we see it, we gotta dive for it.

[assent]

[ She frowns as well, kneeling to where the paper was before.

Why did he let go though, because that's when things start getting freakier. The man starts yelling louder, the lights start flickering more--

Something seems to be coming now... ]

I am not certain.

[ Yet she's still chill af ]

[ he's too focused on the papers now to notice that things are starting to get freakier. oops. ]

We can try later, in another room. We've found one in each room so far, right?
