Another paper. It disappeared again, I'm afraid to say.

[ This seems useless, especially when they can't freely survey the room with having to keep up the mana exchange at the same time. ]

[ he pauses for a bit, even going so far as to let go by accident to scratch his chin. ]

Maybe we were being too slow. The moment we see it, we gotta dive for it.

[ She frowns as well, kneeling to where the paper was before.

Why did he let go though, because that's when things start getting freakier. The man starts yelling louder, the lights start flickering more--

Something seems to be coming now... ]

I am not certain.

[ Yet she's still chill af ]

[ he's too focused on the papers now to notice that things are starting to get freakier. oops. ]

We can try later, in another room. We've found one in each room so far, right?

[ Good job guys... Though she also is rather focused on looking around. ]

That is true, shall we try the next one then?

[ She's already heading for the door, but the man's screaming and sobbing is getting louder and it's getting harder to ignore the kind of memories that are making themselves known. The torture, the pain and all that... it's quite vivid. ]

[ leo likes to help people but as far as he's concerned, those in this hospital are beyond help. their screams will forever play in his head and he'll never be able to get rid of it, but he continues on and goes towards the door to open it again. time to head to the next room!

once he opens the door, though, he spots some elf-like creature running past the room and then enters another room. ]

Hey!

[ sorry, sonia, he's leaving you behind for now to chase after it... weeps gently. ]

[assent]

[ She's still standing there, blinking in a haze from the images that flash through her mind, the man's memories are something akin to what she's already read about, but the feeling alongside that information is intense. It means that Leo is gone before she can look back up. ]

Hey?

[ She steps out into the hall, holding her weapon to herself as she tries to work out which direction he went in. Before she had been calm, but now the place seems out of sorts. The lights are flickering more often, and there's an odd moaning sound joining in too. ]

Leo...?

[slotted]

[ despite the unwanted noises, he hears sonia's voice and peeks out from the mess of a room he's gotten in. ]

Over here!

[ but the lights continue to flicker and eventually switch off (for about ten seconds or so). leo now wants to get the hell out of dodge. ]

Can you hear me?

[assent]

[ She's actually not doing as well as before as the lights go out completely. Simply because she can feel something, something darker than anything else approaching under the cover of darkless. ]

Leo... Something is not right. [ She can't move her feet -- or at least she can't bring herself to. She's probably only a few meters away, but her eyes are locked on the end of the corridor. ]

[slotted]

I know that, [ because that much is obvious. it's unfortunate leo's biology doesn't include night vision because other synths can probably see in the dark. ] just--

[ he tries to follow sonia's voice, grabbing whatever he can just to touch her (hopefully not anywhere... unwanted) and be in contact again. she's probably scared.

eventually, the lights flicker back on, and sonia is probably right that there may be something there at the end of the corridor behind leo. ]

Are you alright?

[assent]

[ She's still stuck staring into the darkness though, hand held out as she tries to find the wall. She had been fine earlier, but in the dark it's harder to put on that sort of brave mask. Her face is mostly blank when the lights come back on, and she immediately looks towards him--



--only to double back when she sees a shadow of a mishapen figure at the end of the corridor. It starts moving, slowly creeping and dragging itself closer. ]
