beach episode, round 2 (the free for all version)

Who: Everyone in this game!! It's an open mingle log!
When: Maybe like, the first three days of August.
Where: Caissa's Beach and Water Garden.
What: Just for the sake of having a Beach Episode, we're totally pretending that a bunch of NPCs (fantasy college students?!) decided to have a party.
Rating: None right now! Or maybe PG, I added some thugs just because.


[If you were walking around Caissa lately (or even just saw a few fliers around) there seems to be a Beach Party organised by a few unnamed beings, possibly a bunch of young adults who just want to party up. Their reason is, it's nearly the end of summer, so they're going to have a summer party. And everyone's invited! But what will happen?

Basically, it's just a get together with many people gathering around to party on a beach. Here's a few things you can do!

Pre-party: Choose swimwear, maybe together. Or yukata (as I have been informed to add too)

1. Build a sandcastle (or become a sand mermaid). What if there's a contest?
2. Join in on a barbeque done by random citizens that may be pretty tasty...or can just suck, so maybe you should give them a hand.
3. SWIM. SPLASH WATER. IT'S THE BEACH. If not, maybe check out those watergardens? It seems to be quieter there.
4. Competitive sports. You will be challenged to various types of beach sports, on the sand or in the water. OR, you'll be challenge to smash a watermelon while blindfolded.
5. Sun bathe. Why not, really.
6. At night, there's a bit of dancing around a bonfire and also some small fireworks and sparklers.
7. Whatever the heck you want, really.

But watch out! Since this is a gathering open to everyone, you may find yourselves in the presence of some local troublemakers. But don't worry, Heroes, you're strong, pretty sure you can protect the people. Just make sure it's nothing that will land you into trouble, that is all (I'm sure hand slapping will be okay. Or maybe challenge them to the equivalent of racing on the beach).

Either way, get your summer on. Also a random excuse you can use to get to this party can be "My Carrier smelled the food and headed here".]

Who says I'm worried about you? We're gonna' fight together eventually, and if you screw up because you couldn't be bothered to keep your body in peak condition, that's my ass in the fire. [Meliora folds her arms and harrumphs, as she moves behind Rin to touch at her neck.]

[Having lost her eye that lets her see the muscles underneath someone's skin, Mel finds herself hoping that she still has the technique to do this without cheating. With a deep cleansing breath to herself, she goes to work running her fingers along Rin's neck muscles, feeling gently for knots or tension so that she knows where to work--she makes extra sure to pay attention tot he spot where Rin was kneading herself earlier.]

And who said anything about needing a boyfriend? You need a pro.

Excuse me...?!

[unfortunately, all that meets her at first once she settles down is lots of tension. rin's back is straight and she's hunching up her shoulders, much like an upset cat because she's irritated. the tease of fingers drifting pleasantly over her skin isn't enough to ask meliora to leave, but she presses forward to distance herself from her hands a little.

for the record, her back, neck, and shoulders are horribly full of knots everywhere. she works hard, despite the slight girl she is.]

I would not fail to keep my own body in good condition, especially now that I'm a Hero! That's an elementary mistake!

[it's insulting—she bites her lip, turning her head to the side, and quietly adds:]

Naturally, I could only ask someone like my boyfriend to give me massages whenever I wanted them...

[rin thinks there are some things only lovers can do for each other. without one, she's out of luck.]

[Geez, she's got her work cut out for her. Meliora rubs her hands together, taking a deep breath as she gets into the right headspace for the job in front of her. She pulls up a smile, and her voice's timbre changes to one that's a little less rough than usual.]

Tell ya' what, if you're feeling knotted up and tense? Gimme a call, I'll knead you into shape anytime. No boyfriend required. But you'll have to get me a drink or something. I don't work free, right?

[She starts at the neck as requested, keeping the pressure light at first as she rubs Rin's traps--she doesn't know how tolerant her subject is of possibly painful adjustments yet.]

But we can talk about that later.. For now, do me a solid and take deep breaths. Just relax... and think about your breathing. Lemme know if I use too much pressure, okay? [Time to start working on some of these knots and some of this tension.]

[well, she'll see how desperate she gets. rin shoots her a dubious look. massages are great, but why buy a drink for one when someone else might do it for free?

... plus, bars aren't exactly her haunts.

the directions are easy enough to follow, and she begins inhaling deep breaths of air as she slumps where she's seated, deciding to ignore how she feels like a child.]

Thanks. [Mel's pegged Rin the sort of person who should be thanked for any acquiescence, at least if she wants to make her happy and have any chance of getting a repeat client.]

[She's actually very skilled, fingers moving deftly to work out knots in her back and shoulders one by one with gentle but persistent pressure. There's definitely some missteps, and if Rin doesn't speak up she'll wind up pressing too hard for most people's tastes, but it's far from terrible.]

You know... if you need some more sunscreen rubbed in after this I might be convinced to help.

[as it happens, rin is a pretty vocal client. whenever she rubs the muscle a little too roughly:]

Oooh! O-Ow! Ow...! Be gentle, jeez!

[though the way she winds up her back and cries out is far from... unattractive, strictly speaking.

it may be far outdone by the soft moans she makes every time meliora works an especially tender knot open, though. gasping, she answers in a slightly breathy voice,]

Is that so? What kind of "convincing" are you talking about?

Oh, nothing in particular. [She talks while she works, not missing a beat as she moves from focusing on knots to a simple, full-back rub, giving her some time to breathe before it's back to the more focused work. With so much and so obvious feedback she's able to do a better job of things than she otherwise would--and that it's cute feedback is just an added bit of encouragement to do well.]

All you'd really have to do is ask nicely. A job well done is its own reward, right?
