beach episode, round 2 (the free for all version)
Who: Everyone in this game!! It's an open mingle log!
When: Maybe like, the first three days of August.
Where: Caissa's Beach and Water Garden.
What: Just for the sake of having a Beach Episode, we're totally pretending that a bunch of NPCs (fantasy college students?!) decided to have a party.
Rating: None right now! Or maybe PG, I added some thugs just because.

[If you were walking around Caissa lately (or even just saw a few fliers around) there seems to be a Beach Party organised by a few unnamed beings, possibly a bunch of young adults who just want to party up. Their reason is, it's nearly the end of summer, so they're going to have a summer party. And everyone's invited! But what will happen?
Basically, it's just a get together with many people gathering around to party on a beach. Here's a few things you can do!
Pre-party: Choose swimwear, maybe together. Or yukata (as I have been informed to add too)
1. Build a sandcastle (or become a sand mermaid). What if there's a contest?
2. Join in on a barbeque done by random citizens that may be pretty tasty...or can just suck, so maybe you should give them a hand.
3. SWIM. SPLASH WATER. IT'S THE BEACH. If not, maybe check out those watergardens? It seems to be quieter there.
4. Competitive sports. You will be challenged to various types of beach sports, on the sand or in the water. OR, you'll be challenge to smash a watermelon while blindfolded.
5. Sun bathe. Why not, really.
6. At night, there's a bit of dancing around a bonfire and also some small fireworks and sparklers.
7. Whatever the heck you want, really.
But watch out! Since this is a gathering open to everyone, you may find yourselves in the presence of some local troublemakers. But don't worry, Heroes, you're strong, pretty sure you can protect the people. Just make sure it's nothing that will land you into trouble, that is all (I'm sure hand slapping will be okay. Or maybe challenge them to the equivalent of racing on the beach).
Either way, get your summer on. Also a random excuse you can use to get to this party can be "My Carrier smelled the food and headed here".]

Well... I was hitting a wall with my practice, so I thought a change of pace was a good idea... so I came here to relax.

Ahh, what the hooey. Let's do it.

Or, well... that's why I came here at least.
The power of the ocean! I will figure out how to make it bend to my will!
...
So, um....

Alright then, let's see what you've got! Water magic is my favorite.

Every Time I've tried to make an ice wall though....
[Will he wash them away out to sea?

Make sure to use a little extra energy when you're trying to control it. Remember--you're using saltwater. If you try to freeze it the same way as regular water, I think it might stay as water and still move like it was directed... and that may be bad.
[He thinks that's the case anyways, because he only heard that from his teachers back home--he used too much energy every spell so he'd never once had a problem in the first place.]

If there's something that seems off, I'll tell you and we can tweak it from there, maybe! Sound good?

First I reach out and grab the water. Pull it towards me, spread it out, and then imagine it as a solid object and think of cold.
[Though what he described wasn't literally how he did it, but it was the simplest way to describe his steps.]
Aiden used to say I needed to think of what needed to be protected instead. To put your feelings into the structure. But I don't really get it.
no subject
Um... the only recommendation I can think of is think of to think colder. Over-exaggerate. Think like, deep space! That kind of cold! Absolute zero!
--you probably won't actually get that cold, but it's a good way to average out to where you want to be I think.

[He didn't really have much of a concept of space. It was where stars were at night, and there were planets out there. But it wasn't like anyone had been there to know if it was cold or not. Though if you went really high up it did get cold....]
I was thinking about blocks of ice. But then... I mostly used fire and none elemental magic.
Maybe I should have gone to the mountains.

[He folds his legs under him and sits down, hands in his lap and eyes shut.]
Sit with me. We're going to meditate and visualize.
no subject
Alright.
[He could meditate. It wasn't like he hadn't before or anything. Though, it wasn't a habit he had. If he thought about it he had a lot of really bad habits that didn't actually lend themselves well to his chosen field.]

Contemplate water. It is versatility. It can be a gas, or a liquid, or a solid... all as it needs to be. It adapts, and shifts to what is needed of it. Of the elements... I think it's the most reflective. The most thoughtful. Attune with that. Think about the water--consider how much of it makes up who you are as a being of flesh. About how you too can reflect on situations, and adapt.
Feel its energy inside you, and become aware of it.

Ice was a cold block, like glass. Cold and hard, A wall of ice would require extreme temperatures. A force of will to enforce such temperatures.
Water was his affinity, it shouldn't be so hard to consider all its forms. It was the element he was born under after all.
And yet....]
I feel like it's too hot here for a wall of ice to be structurally sound....
[The sun... the sun was bright and he could feel his skin burning. He was getting distracted. Truly those who could produce such things had amazing will.]

After all, water is versatile. It freezes, unfreezes, and evaporates in a span of next to no heat at all.. at least, compared to most other forms of matter. Relative to the scheme of the universe as a whole, there's no difference between 0 Celsius and 100.... not when temperatures can easily become thousands of times hotter or colder.

Contemplating it is part of being one with everything, after all--even the void is a part of the balance of thing.

B-but I'm talking about more than the tide... The vacuum out there, it's a place without heat or light. It's absolute cold. That's the sort of cold that's best for quickly freezing water.

Cold slows things down, and at absolute zero movement stops entirely.
