Training at Sunrise

Who: Tieria and YOU
When: May 9th, a day AFTER Intro Log
Where: Caissa, Coastal District
What: Tieria organized a mass training session, hideous ensues?
Rating: Violence, language, more violence

If you made your way to the location, you're already one step closer upon completing your training because this part of the beach is the furthest away from any settlement or port and also the hardest to find. You probably found it by following other heroes' trail, or you're those who stumbles around until you found it or you're actually one of those who went scouting before the actual day.

Either way, congratulation for making it this far ( puns completely intended ). Surrounding the rocky beach is an even rockier cliff. Be careful not to stumble or you will find yourself in need of healing. Thankfully, there are Kings ready to make a guinea pig out of your healing needs around. Your training will be held on the round rock-carved deck overlooking the beautiful sea or on the less rocky stretch of the beach, depending on your Trainer's choice. If you're lucky, your Trainer might even have you hike up that rocky cliff. You may even treat yourself to Caissa's fantastic sunset if you made it up there in time!

In any case, once you've arrived at sunrise ( or rather when the sun has risen sufficiently over the horizon because you're that bad with direction or has no sense of time ) and is done catching your breath, you will come to a notice pinned on the tall fences that tells you to tie a ribbon ( in the buckets, also tied to the fence ) corresponding to the training you wish to partake in on your arm.

Stamina ( GREEN ) ✽ Endurance ( ORANGE ) ✽ Weapons ( BLUE ) ✽ Magic ( PURPLE )

The notice will also instructs those who volunteers to be Trainers to tie a different set of ribbons, with black stripe over the four corresponding colors, on their arm to help differentiate them and the course(s) they're instructing. Of course, if you turn out to be a terrible Trainer, Tieria will rip that ribbon off you and very possibly shoves you into the sea.

There are no training weapon available because you're supposed to bring your own magic weapon.
If you forgot, you can either run back for it or pick a different course.

There's also a clause in very bold red letters that forbid killing. Break it and you will be broken in return.

Are you done tying those ribbons? Then what are you waiting? Get moving!

(( OOC: Please indicate in your top level if your character is a Trainer (which course are they instructing?) or Trainee.
eg.: Harry Potter | TRAINER - MAGIC
eg.: Severus Potter | TRAINEE - EVERYTHING PLEASE

Feel free to mingle around! Make friends, frenemies and even better, rivals! ))

[ Edward, please. The lot of them are standing on this cliff, they need it.

Pivoting in place, Allelujah's expression warms at the sight of the other man. Beforehand, it'd been a touch apprehensive. This new power of his seems to be interwoven closely with who he is, and how he feels. He finds it difficult to describe the subtle shift that has made a world of difference. No longer is his mind full of static, of absence of strength. Even Hallelujah reacted.

(Even if only to laugh at how difficult gravity is to control. Some things never change.)
]

A Knight. [ He repeats. ] Congratulations. It's a different feeling from before, isn't it?

[ As if something has been freed. ]

You can see mana, though?

[ The question gets him to tilt his head a little, considering. ]

Not really entirely visibly, but - a sort of sensory perception, yes. Before I came here, I could do the same in my homeworld, but I have only recently regained the ability here. [ Servants needed mana to continue manifesting, so it was natural for them to be able to sense it and seek out sources if their Master was unable to supply enough. ] It's a little different from what I've been used to, but if I sort of squint, I can feel where it is.

[ Like how Allelujah before him is a very strong source of it. ]

I'll just get used to it. [ It won't be a problem. Edward, on the other hand, might have been a little too happy about it. ]

I see, then. That makes sense, knowing how it is that mana behaves now. [ A pause, nearly sheepish. ] For the most part.

[ A similar ability existed for him. Quantum brainwaves were a malleable sort of thing when it came to sensing others, with a wide margin for manifestation. But Allelujah had been able to sense other Super Soldiers without seeing them. Hallelujah had an even finer degree of control.

Here — well, they've had to relearn where to draw the line, in a manner of speaking.
]

I had to give that warning, just to be safe. Putting magic itself aside, gravitational force isn't a thing that someone can contain so easily.

[ Allelujah only has to recite a spell, a breath of Latin, to cause a shimmer of distortion. The air seems to hum, pressure shifting. ]

A Rook's specialty, so I'm told.

[ Henry nods, looking firm. He's quick on his footing, Edward more so, so he should fare better than most. He's hesitant to loosen control, but it is true that Edward would need the training. With Allelujah, perhaps his destructive urges can be contained better. ]

I think I can do it. I'm more of a swift style of fighter, anyway.

[ His green eyes dart quickly to where the distortion is, extending out one hand to feel its effects. ]

It's certainly versatile.

[ Where the effects of the spell linger, a thrumming spacial phase suspended in the air, Henry may find that the gravity molds itself to him, lightening the mass of his hand in one moment, and casting weight upon it the next. ]

I agree. As far as I've been able to tell, I can manipulate both the gravity in a space and that of an object. [ Someone wasted no time in trying to test his own limits. ] Unfortunately, both types have a tendency to become... volatile.

[ A concept neither he nor Henry is unfamiliar with, really. But he goes on, heartened by the potential nonetheless. ]

Still, it could be useful when applied to melee combat. What do you think?
dualitea: (I have been doomed)

[ It is in entirely an interesting sensation. Having come from the time before space travel, he had not experienced this kind of feeling at all. Most curious, and yet unsettling. ]

We shouldn't discount its ability. You can fortify your strikes, debilitate enemies - it feels to me a field effect rather than something localized. Best used in a team, with coordination.

[ And maybe, just maybe, flight. But that's a long way away. ]

[ That analytical nature of his never ceases to make Allelujah smile. It has heart to it, which is different, but welcome. ]

Luckily, that's exactly how I'm used to working. And so is he, even if he might say otherwise. [ He being Hallelujah. ] If you're sure you won't mind an odd phase or two, I'd like to test it out.

[ He's a scholar, after all. In life, his research had been for himself alone; but Chaldea had made him improvise and focus more on strategy. While still in control, he's better a thinker than a fighter. So in a way, he could do both - one personality laying out the plans, and praying that the other would find it in his interest to take heed of it.

For now, he can think clearly, and he's not about to waste this opportunity. ]

I won't. [ Now that they're open with their dual natures, it feels quite natural. ] I doubt it'd be safe for me to switch, however. If you don't mind my lower strength...

[ Edward probably will try to break out, but he'll deal with that when it happens. The battle never actually lets up. ]

Not at all. I don't intend to fight fully here, at least not yet. There's still a lot I have to learn about how to control it before I can use it without reservations.

[ Even in a regular fight and not just a spar, he has the ability to harm those around him. Spacial distortions of any kind are dangerous things, and lucky him, that's just what he's had pushed into his palms upon promotion. Allelujah knows he needs to achieve a much finer degree of control over such a force before he'll be comfortable wielding it. ]

Knowing that, it seems I have an easier time with the gravity of a space. Hallelujah... casts it over objects.

[ Or people. Though he's only used it on himself, naturally. ]

[ A difference in how the two personalities handled things, something that all four of them share. Then, he's all the more willing to volunteer and help Allelujah use them best. ]

Likewise on my end. I have better control over familiars and flags, while Berserker... fights better in general. His siphon ability is superior.

[ So they could theoretically work well if they know how to switch and coordinate. Henry is willing, but Edward less so. ]

We can practice with our current selves, then? It will be less risky that way.

I'd like that. Before we can use our powers interchangeably with one another, I feel as though I should try to master mine.

[ At least... to where he doesn't fear for a gravity-induced snowball of utter mayhem. Mostly because Hallelujah would likely be so entertained that he'd be helpless to stop it. Secretly, his other self probably never grew out of being actually ten years old. ]

Do you prefer weapons and magic, or just magic?
dualitea: (that man is not truly one)

[personal profile] dualitea 2016-05-30 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
[ At least Hallelujah has morals. ]

Whichever is easier with you. I can do both.

[ What's more important is that he maintains control. As a Knight, his magic isn't the best but his studies partially remedy that, so he has little preference between the two. ]
praises: (because we wanted to find our name)

[ GIVE OR TAKE, YEAH. ]

Then I'll start with the basics, and introduce weapons at a later time.

[ With that in mind, he disarms, unclipping both Malakim and its new counterpart, a wicked looking push-dagger dubbed Prayer, from either arm. He leaves them aside, placed atop his jacket spread out over the sand nearby. Stepping back into the ring, he assumes a loose stance, that distorted glow once again rippling around him. ]

Ready.
