Kija doesn't know the first thinga bout entertaining children, though. There were children in his village, but when they tried to reach out to the Hakuryuu, their parents would often lead them away. They didn't want to bother their young lord. That same little boy from before tugs at Kija's sleeve again. Excitedly, he yells 'I want to defeat the bad guys too! I wanna be a hero too!' The other children start to get into the mood, and they go on excitedly about the adventures they would have as a hero!!! Kija's not sure what to say in response, so he goes with what he knows. ]
If you want to protect others, you must train your body and become strong. Without strength, you cannot protect anyone.
[ basically typical kija-talk ... the shonen life is the only life he knows.
'I wanna start right now!!' one little boy exclaims, and the other kids all nod their heads in excitement. A normal adult probably wouldn't be encouraging young children to learn to fight, but Kija isn't exactly a normal adult, so he thoughtlessly gives his response. ]
Yes. Training should always start young. [ KIJA STOp
And now he's done it. They have a room full of excited children all ready to start their training as heroes. ]

Not that it's turning out to be a difficult task, seeing as how they're already incredibly interested in getting to know them.
... Ah, that's why. Although he sees Kija's advice as completely harmless, and it definitely comes from a place of good intentions, maybe this isn't the best way to start the afternoon. The teacher, who is enjoying a moment of peace to herself, already looks a bit worried.
Kija, you're supposed to encourage them to stay in school and work hard?! Jae-ha chuckles as he comes up behind Kija and rests his hand on his shoulder. Son, don't get them so riled up. ]
While that might be true, it's also true that Heroes should be smart. [ Maybe Kija wasn't the best role model for that, either. ] Sometimes, it isn't how hard you can punch a bad guy, but how you can outsmart them. So, you should pay attention and learn as much as you can. You never know when it might come in handy. [ He can practically hear the teacher sigh in relief. ]
[ That gets them to calm down a little, and they don't look thrilled-- ]
Anyway, who wants piggy back rides? [ YEAH they're excited again!!! These children are very easily pleased by any promise of action. ]

The advice makes sense?? But for some reason, the children don't seem to appreciate it very much at all. It's only the call for 'piggyback rides' that gets them jumping up and down again, scrambling over to Jae Ha and climbing all over him. Me! Me! Me! they chant repeatedly, as they tug as Jae Ha's sleeves. A few of them try to climb the tower of Kija, too, and he offers his back to the first one. He can't let Jae Ha handle them all on his own.
It all looks like a simple round of piggyback rides until one shouts 'I know! Let's play heroes and villains!'
with our heroes as the horses, evidently. ]

"Hey mister, which one are we?! Oh you look way more like a villain than the other guy, so I guess we're villains huh?!" Says the little girl on his right.
Ah. So little confidence. ]
Ahaha, just what makes you think I'm more of a villain than Kija-kun you little brat?
[ To which the girl shrugs and laughs. "That other guy is clearly a princess, so you're the bad guy trying to catch the princess!"
Jae-ha can't hold back his amused smile (he almost laughs out loud), then, and he turns to Kija, eyes gleaming with mischief. ]
That's that, then. You heard her, Kija-kun. You better run before I catch you! [ What a loser... ]

throws his manhood out the windowdesignates a role for him. ]I-I am not a princess ... [ Truthfully, he doesn't actually mind that she just called him feminine, but there's only one princess in his life, so there's no way it can be him!! But that's it then, the roles have been decided, and he doesn't feel like he has any choice but to play along.
He thought they were going to play 'heroes and villains', so he was prepared to fight, but now, apparently - ] I must run?
[ He's still trying to figure out the rules of the game as he goes along (there are no rules), but always eager to fulfill any task given to him, Kija secures the child that's clinging onto him and starts running in the other direction.
The children start to laugh, and another one chimes in with 'Yeah, you better run, or the bad guy's gonna catch you and make you his bride!'
Kija gawks even more when he hears that. ] Is that true ...?!

Jae-ha uses Kija's moment of bewilderment to try and gain more distance, even leaping into the air and landing just a few feet in front of his friend. Cheater.
The children, definitely not expecting to go soaring in the air like that, scream-- first in terror, then in delight.
"That was awesome! Do it again, bad guy!"
Because he can't resist (of course), he grins as he lunges forward. Now they're being too intense about this, who's paying for this insurance. ]
The more you run, the more I start to think it's not such a bad idea!

He hadn't expected things to get serious, but if that's how Jae Ha wants to play it, so be it!! Kija happens to have a phD in taking stupid situations too seriously.
Oddly, this also reminds him of the many times he's had to run from the girls in his village, who often fought tooth and nail for his hand in marriage. Ah, it's so horrible to think about ... ]
We cannot! I have duties to fulfill! [ kija it is a game
If he were playing another hero, he would be whipping out that dragon hand for a fight. But in this game, his role is to run, and so Kija uses his fighting experience to evade swiftly, putting a few feet between himself and Jae Ha within seconds. The child in his arms squeals in delight as he picks up speed. ]
You will not catch me!
no subject
[ Kija isn't the only one that's taking this a bit too seriously. There is sort of an instinct in Jae-ha's mind that wills him to pursue someone (or something) running away, and this is almost as exciting as pursuing an actual girl.
Except, Kija can actually kick his ass, so maybe it's exciting in a different way.
Still, he can't run too fast, lest the children on his back get too dizzy or accidentally fall, so he tries to quickly move to where he thinks Kija might run to next.
It's a decent enough strategy, if it weren't for the fact that he's so eager, they might actually just end up colliding. ]

I cannot neglect my duty as the White Drago --
[ Maybe he should have remembered that Jae Ha is, in fact, the Green Dragon. aka the dragon that flies. Maybe he should also have remembered that Jae Ha has a sharp mind to him and he's more than capable of utilizing his abilities to get the upper hand on a fleeing opponent.
Kija doesn't have any time to stop himself when Jae Ha drops swiftly in front of him, child in his arms. That spells as much disaster as one would expect. With a little yelp, he goes colliding right into Jae Ha, knocking his head against the other man's chin and falling on top of him. ] Gk --!
[ It hurts, and his face is red from the collision, but Kija takes care not to crush the child in his arms between their bodies, holding her protectively and arching his body a little so she has enough space. ]

Kij--!
[ Nope, it's too late. He falls onto his back, wincing as he hits the ground, consciously bracing his body such that he doesn't hurt the child above him. It means that both he and Kija take the brunt of the fall, and while the kid looks momentarily scared, he simply starts laughing a moment after.
Bruised, he begins to prop himself up a bit. ]
So... who won? [ No one did. Just the kids. ]
no subject
Ah, it's -- [ ... He has no idea. But he really likes winning, so he's interested to know!
The kids chime in with 'The bad guy won! You caught the princess!'.
Well, technically he did catch Kija ......... with his face and body rather than his hands. ]
no subject
Oh, but he won? He perks up, and looking to seek revenge on the reckless Kija, grins as he leans forward to grab Kija by the shoulders. ]
Is that so! Looks like I get to steal my kiss from the princess now!
no subject
Eh?! Hold on -- [ He isn't prepared for this! Kija's face starts to burn red with fluster, embarrassment and confusion. Not only that, but the expression on Jae Ha's face (his icon???) honesty looks so questionable, anyone would feel unnerved by it. This is his cue to start struggling. ]
You were serious?! I-I said that I am not a princess! Jae Ha, wait a minute!
