Right now? She hasn't caught on. Jae-ha managed to stay charming in her mind. Ah.]
If you want to, I am now opposed to the idea. [He seems to really like working with beauty and make up? Perhaps it was what he did back home.
And she enters after he opens the door! But she waits for him, not yet browsing until she knows he's with her.]
You're too generous. [Suggesting such an idea. Although she'll be purchasing, it's unfair to him otherwise, since they both just arrived.] Let us see now... [As she makes her way to the nail polish, some of the little accessories also catch her eye. There was a particularly nice ribbon there as well.] This one looks like it would suit you.
no subject
[ Also no way, if he suggested it, he's going to be paying Vietnam pls?!
He begins to survey the selection of colors himself, but looks back to her when it looks like something caught her eye. ] Eh?
[ No way. The coincidence was too uncanny, and he has to hold back a laugh as he approaches and lightly runs his fingers over the ribbon. ]
This is almost exactly like the ribbon I wore back home. [ Which he misses, by the way. He's been making due with a cheap piece of lace, which was all he could afford until recently, but it's just not the same. Life is hard when you don't look as beautiful as you could. ] How did you know?
no subject
[But this is stuff for her!
Aside from this one ribbon. Really, she just selected it because it looked nice. She never realised that it was something similar to home, but now she's glad that it is.]
I didn't. It seems like this is a lucky guess. [She laughs softly.] I just thought it would suit your hair, since you are always tying it up.
barfs...
[ He's that whipped to girls, ok.
Jae-ha smiles as he gingerly holds the ribbon. There's no question about it, he's getting this. ]
I should have expected nothing less from such a kind and observant girl. [ What attention to detail...! ] I will think of you when I wear it.
omg this is so
But yes, Jae-ha, what a good.
He looks so happy with the ribbon, she feels like it would be better if she makes it a gift and pays for it.]
You speak too highly of me, it was just chance that we happened upon this ribbon! I can pay for it, then it will be my gift to you for offering to do my make up and nails.
lame, i know
[ Jae-ha's eyes widen in surprise at her offer, because while he does appreciate the gesture of the ribbon as a gift, he doesn't relish the thought of her paying!
He sighs, admiring the ribbon one last time. ]
Fine. I'll gladly accept your gift, if you let me pay for any polish you get. Some new clothes for the lady, too. [ It's already an impressive stride that he's agreeing to let her pay for it to begin with, given his incredibly chivalrous manners. ]
I WAS GOING FOR CHEESY
[Because look, sometimes girls can be lazy, even though she works so hard. Also he's well dressed and handsome, surely he knows how to make her beautiful? She has a complex and is self-critical.
She puts the ribbon securely in her hands, so that she can pay for it immediately.] Well, I suppose that is also fair, but I'll try not to pick anything expensive. [It's a gift! Jae-ha, take gifts from girls sometime.] Wait for me, please.
[She quickly goes to the country to pay for the ribbon (after battering) and then comes back to hold the ribbon out for him.]
lame and cheesy. also what color is the ribbon..
Ah, I'm going to try my best to make sure you never get to take a look at the price! [ He's only half-joking, with his hand already covering one of the sale signs. He waits for her, though, and when she comes back holding out the gift to him, he feels a lot more touched than he thought he would be.
He takes it with both hands, immediately unraveling it. ]
Thank you, Vietnam.
[ His expression has eased into something more genuinely happy than the usual
shit-eating grineasygoing facade his presents. He... doesn't really ever receive gifts, truthfully. So he really will treasure it. He reaches behind his back to quickly tie it around his hair in a loose ponytail, a motion he's gone through so many times it's practically a reflex. ]WOW and what goes with green that's not red. it won't be christmasy. eh makes it yellow
That's cheating! [She smiles though, as she pays, and it grows when he opens his gift, and watches on as he ties back his hair.]
It suits you even more that I imagined. [She picks up one of the mirrors (that are for sale?!) and shows him.]
simplest tbh .. LFDSMO 1/2
[ He protests, adamant!! ]
no subject
I take back what I said. [ Gently, he places his hand over hers, the same hand that's holding onto that mirror. ] It's even more beautiful than my ribbon from back home.
YES pretend it's beautiful
Except he distracts her with his poses because it's pretty funny? He's so pleased with himself! But ah, he's holding her hand. She's sure this is out of gratitude, so she pats his hand with her free one.]
Your words are too kind.
no subject
[ His hands go back down to his sides, thankfully, because even if her hands are warm and soft, he has an important duty.
To keep covering the sign up. She's gonna pick colors based on what she likes, not price!!! ]
no subject
Only to those who deserve it. [DOES HE DESERVE IT???
Either way, he's hiding the price! And she laughs before she starts looking for colours, picking up two. A wine red bottle and a faint pink. One for a bold day, the other for a natural day.] What do you think?
no subject
Though, surprisingly, the more Vietnam treats him with such kindness, the less inclined he feels to invade her personal space. This is probably for the best.
He puts his finger to his chin thoughtfully when she presents the colors. ]
Stunning choices. Classic colors, without being boring. They suit you perfectly.
I'll pick up a manicure kit, too. [ For full-fledged pampering, of course. ]
no subject
And she's saving herself! WITH KINDNESS.
She looks pleased by his approval, before reaching over for the manicure kit. Now, while she didn't want him to spend too much, it is something that is essential.]
I think these will do.
no subject
[ He takes the polishes and the kit and walks over to pay, and yeah, the cashier is probably gagging, too.
Once that's finished, he offers her his arm again, intent on leading them out of the store and in search of some boutiques! ]
I never thought to ask until now, but what sort of world are you from, Vietnam-chan?
[ So that he can have some idea of what kinds of clothes she'd even be drawn to.
Well, for starters, he's clearly from a place that doesn't realize "Vietnam" is a country. ]
no subject
As soon as Jae-ha offers his arm, she takes it, this time more comfortably and relaxed than before.]
Oh? Ah...what kind of world...it's a lot more ordinary than anywhere with mana or magical creatures. But scientifically, it's a lot more modern and forward.
[So science driven! In one way.] What about you, Jae-ha? [She doesn't know he comes from fantasy Korea?!]
no subject
[ He laughs, shrugging his shoulders. ] My world is behind this one, technology-wise, unfortunately. There’s not nearly as much magic, either. [ Though, the Four Dragons’ existence is proof that magic exists, and his foot is evidence enough, but everyone else is perfectly ordinary.
Except for Hak. Hak is just a beast. ]
no subject
[She nods in understanding, meanwhile.] I see, your leg, that means there is some magic in your world, though? [Instead of saying it's gross, this is the assumption she made?!
That Hak though.]
no subject
[ His smile falters at the mention of his leg, and he grows quiet. He hasn't forgotten that she and Setsuna have actually seen it, but there's a reason he keeps it covered up all the time. ]
Yes. Something like that. [ He just needs a second, but he'll explain. He just doesn't know where to start. ]
no subject
[But before that, Jae-ha seems to have went quiet. His leg seems to be a sensitive topic, but no one was able to bring it up, since one thing kept happening after another.]
I see... [She wants to know more, but she also doesn't want to pry if it was going to upset him.]
no subject
It's nothing so serious. The story behind why I have such a grotesque leg is a long one, that's all.
[ He'd rather not touch on his particular experience with being born Ryokuryuu, but it's easy enough to overlook that part.
But there's no better place to start than the beginning? He slows down, placing a finger to his chin in thought. ]
There's a legend in my world, that the first king of Kouka was a god by the name of Hiryuu, the red dragon, who chose to become human in order to rule his kingdom. Unfortunately, humans, as humans tend to be, were greedy and wanted power more than anything, and they turned on their god.
[ He looks at her briefly, wondering if she's still following along. But she seems like a genuinely curious person. ]
Just as the humans were about to kill Hiryuu, however, the four dragons, who loved Hiryuu, descended from the heavens and told him that he should destroy the humans as punishment for turning against their god and return to heaven. [ It's a bit strange, telling his tale, just because it's something so familiar to the people of his world, that he hardly ever actually talks about it. ] But Hiryuu told them, "I am human now, too, and even if my people betray or hurt me, I can't help but love them."
[ He stops in front of a shop window, idly looking at what this store had to offer, before turning back to her. ]
The dragons were sad, but they respected and understood Hiryuu's decision to stay in his kingdom. To protect their brother, they each gave their blood to four human warriors-- humans who would possess the power of their dragon and always serve Hiryuu.
[ His smile fades a bit. ] Those were the original dragons, but there have been many generations of them. I'm the current Ryokuryuu, the Green Dragon.
no subject
What a sad tale...it does remind me of origin stories we all have. But this one here is true, with you being the Green Dragon.
no subject
It's more of a headache than anything else.
[ He looks towards the storefront. ]
Would you like to try anything on in here?
