Shunsui listened. It hurt, but it was obviously important to Shin-Ah to tell him, and this wasn't about him. It was for the young man he'd adopted as his son, and he would listen to whatever he said.
That didn't mean he had to agree with all of it, though. He held a hand out to Shin-Ah, smiling gently.
"I love the necklace. Thank you so much for giving it to me, it makes me very happy. I think your village would have been happy too, if they'd gotten to know who you are. You're a very sweet man, Shin-Ah."
After a moment, he smiled again.
"You're my family as long as you want to be. Would a hug be all right?"
