a ship on a ship
Who: Misaki Yata and Haruna
When: 03/08
Where: on the ferry to Palaméde
What: Yata gets on a ship to meet a ship.
Rating: PG for Yata's potty mouth
[ The wind in his hair, the smell of the sea. Yata's used to the feeling, but the crisp, white uniform reminds him this isn't home. Palaméde is but a speck to him from the deck. What will he find there? He barely knows where he is, and with too many things happening at once, he doesn't want to be anywhere else. He'd rather be back at Caissa, looking for the jerks who thought it'd be funny to bring him here.
They're gods, Hero. What can you do?
He scowls. ]
Guess they ain't turning this boat around either, huh? [ The three-legged crow perched on the bars caws in reply. ] Jeez. You'd think they'd give us a rundown before shipping us off.
[ The crow caws again and flashes him a picture of Asuna. Yata squints. ]
How do you have that? And I ain't asking her! I can't rely on her all the time.
[ Then the crow flashes a picture of... Haruna? Yata quirks an eyebrow. ]

Who's that?

Yeah, she's totally not buying that. But whatever that floats Yata's boat.
Anyway, Haruna was about to say something about it, but end up not letting out a single sentence due to Yata's sudden outburst. Yata's squawk is countered by but another one from Haruna's end. )
Y-Yes!?

I— [ How to explain... ] D-do you know Asuna?
no subject
Fortunately, Haruna doesn't really pay attention to that kind of score, especially when a certain sweet roommate's name is brought up there. Haruna even clasps her hands together ecstatically for that. )
Yes, Asuna is Haruna's roommate! Are you Asuna's friend as well?
no subject
No! I mean, I know her b-but I dunno if we're friends. I mean, she said she'd help me out with stuff, but I dunno...
[ SO FIDGETY. Why is he rooming with girls... Someone up there must really hate him. (teddy probs) ]
no subject
Then you can tell Haruna as well and Haruna'd help you out with your stuff! Asuna's friend is basically Haruna's as well!
( Congrats, he's definitely walking the right path of the Harem Protagonist. )

[ He's not ready. She's so nice!? But he doesn't want to talk to girls. How the fuck does he even talk to girls... Please hold as he screams silently on the inside. ]
no subject
Of course! ( Nods nods. Or... ) Or...do you consider Haruna not good enough to be your friend?
( This part is where Haruna makes a small pout, maybe even batting her eyelashes once or twice like she belongs in a badfic out of fanfictiondotnet.
Okay, not that dramatic, but she's still looking at Yata with puppy eyes. )

[ He just doesn't know her that well. Not everyone can immediately warm up to a moeblob, ok. ]

[ Since her Carrier practically threw him overboard, but he doesn't know that. ]
Anyway, I'm going back in.

She does roll her eyes back and forth, scratching her cheek with a finger nervously. She may as well sweating nervously now. )
Y-You're right. We should go back in, r-right?
( Unfortunately for Haruna, it seems that her carrier decides to stick its head from behind one of the pillar now.
Unfortunately for Yata, it's running to tackle him again for some unknown reason. God knows what's happening on Haruna's mind at the sudden appearance of the mechanical bear now. Aside of the [internal screaming] of course. )

Unfortunately, metal hurts like hell. His screams of pain and agony would have nearly pierced the eardrums of everyone on deck if it weren't for the winds of the sea muffling Yata's usual ruckus. It's honestly a miracle he's still alive — that bear felt like a cannonball. ]
Wh— AAAAAAH! So it was this bear!?
