He wasn't sure why the man was flustered and tilted his head to the side like a puppy trying to comprehend a situation.

"Shunsui trusts you. So you're a friend."

At least he assumed it was Shunsui. If nothing else he felt that the man would never allow this person to come here unless he trusted him. One thing he'd picked up on with the man who had taken him in was that he was protective of those he felt were under his care.
