What: a reunion for the ages, riddled with future child shenanigans, sassiness, and teenage angst.

[ as is natural for a nosy girl like nina, the first thing that she does is explore her surroundings. things are similar to what she's familiar with, but different at the same time - it's all pretty interesting, and she wants to learn what she can.

but of course, that isn't without investigating what's going on with some familiar faces, too. she's already touched base with soleil (and subaki, with an interaction that was stranger than it usually is), but it's a pleasant surprise to see leo walking around, too. that's not to say that she's going to actually talk to him, though - she's far more comfortable with talking to forrest. his dad just makes her as nervous as talking to most other men does, so she'll keep to the shadows. ]

So Lord Leo is here too, huh... let's see what he's up to!

[ and by "seeing what he's up to", she means carefully stalki- er, following him. it really is all in general innocence to see how he's holding up, but it wouldn't be so bad to take some notes on who he talks to, would it? it's not like anyone would be attentive enough to catch her. ]

[the thing about niles' previous lifestyle was that you didn't last long without being observant. something that had transferred over into his current job under leo. in order to be a good retainer and to protect his lord, he needed to be away of potential threats and to keep an eye on all things regarding leo's day to day life.

which is why the teenage girl stalking lord leo around the streets of cochrane catches his attention. he's not about to dismiss her based on age - the sort of things he'd done as a teenager, and even some things as a child, had been less than pleasant. age was no obstruction to desperation, hunger or survival.

so, he counter-stalks. literally slipping through shadows using his bow abilities and keeping just far enough behind the young lady that he can safely hide himself if she starts to look around. just until he can get close enough to draw his bow and an arrow, just in case, and speak up:]

Well, hello there. And what exactly are you hoping to achieve with this little stalking exercise of yours?

[ thankfully, the only thing that nina is "desperate" for is gossip and fodder for her imagination. harmless, but with the way that she's pursuing leo, it could certainly look like something malicious.

nina doesn't have a bow ability that can hide her the way his does, so she doesn't notice that she's being beaten at her own stalking game. she doesn't quite jump when she hears a voice, but it's enough to make her stop. ]

Wha-?

[ the surprised look on her face quickly turns to a furrow of her brow. and here she thought that she had gotten rid of dad of the year upon being brought to this place. ]
