( closed. ) you had one job
Who: asano keigo & karakurenai
When: end of september.
Where: delivery locations...
What: rejections upon rejections.
Rating: n/a!
( jobs and all they inevitably required were... a pain in the ass.
while they were something he discovered to be imperative in this world, whether for personal wealth, or in harvesting more working knowledge of these lands and its varying degrees of intricacies— they were still inherently troublesome af. to begin with, while he's vanquished malicious entities under the guise of working under the tiger house, he's never actually held a job before. he's never been required to, really. he was blessed with a vast amount of social influence, as well as hard, cold, money ( jumin voice: i only get checks ), and so he's never really thought too deeply on it. until, arriving within the ranks of this newfound republic, that is.
hence, here is is. in the middle of handing our rejections for the bird blooded magic school of mana studies.... or some crap. he honestly couldn't care less, even if he exerted the desire to. regardless, after the first and the second, he finds there's an obnoxious pattern to dropping these off. a pattern defined by screams, wailing, and ... bouts of incredible despair. while he's walked out of them unscathed, it didn't make it any less exhausting. hence, the minute he finds someone... with a similar garb and with a familiar animal at their side, he immediately... ropes them into his efforts notome style. ) You.
Follow me, punk. ( he grasps the back of his collar... and he pretty much drags. what a wonderful way to spark cr and this log, am i right? aka, i'm so sorry, he's a disaster. )

naturally, when he felt someone's hand close around the back of his uniform, he expected it to be yet another poor bastard working through the torrent of emotions that came along with such blunt and unapologetic rejection. but rather than stand there and shake him angrily, this person was... dragging him off?! ]
O-oi!! Wh-what're you doing!!
[ keigo, predictably (to those who knew him, at any rate), squirmed and fussed in the stranger's grip, the little courier pig following after him dutifully. but twisting his head around proved to impart enough information for keigo to still his struggling for the time being: it appeared to be another hero. keigo stumbled along as he was dragged, eyes narrowing as he tried to identify the other... was he supposed to know this person? ]
What's going on?

still, when the other was this... vocal, in time, it was hard not to respond with something. ... and kurenai didn't dislike the sound of his own voice. ) Isn't that obvious? Open your eyes. Where do you think we're going, idiot? ( he replies snappily. for someone who's being so demanding... it probably seems horrifically unreasonable. and to be completely honest, it is. )
It's just a bit further. ( suddenly, he'll stop.
good luck, not running into his back, keigo. )

amazing that even a complete stranger would do the same!!
or at the very least, it was clear he wasn't going to take "no" for an answer right now. keigo looked around them as he was dragged along, trying to see what, exactly, he was missing out on. if it was really that obvious, he should have been able to figure it out, right? he wasn't stupid...
...but sadly, he was truly lost on this one.
once the guy stopped, keigo skid on his feet, righting himself abruptly. he clenched his fists, as well as his jaw, and scowled. ]
Well?! What is it?!

( granted, he's the one who kidnapped him, but well, that was inconsequential as far as kurenai was concerned. hence, he gives a flippant shrug before he releases completely. he then, gives a gesture with his head. as if to tell keigo to go ahead on this road. ) It's your next job. ( he begins picking his feet up once more.
but, its measured, as if waiting for keigo to go first. ) And take this.
( he's holding... what looks like one of those rejection letters.
ah. his plan revealed. )

case in point, keigo's indignant scowl remained, followed quickly by a glare of daggers to the guy's hand, as if it personally offended him.
it sort of did. the implication wasn't lost on him. ]
You expect me to do your job for you?! I'm doing my own already!!
i'm gomen
Obviously your repayment is... ( wait 4 it. ) I'll watch you. ( and that's that.
he brings up his extended hand to firmly press the letter up against his chest. he puts more pressure after every single second that ticks by. but, probably the most concerning thing about this is the fact that he honestly seems to believe himself to be persuasive. it's actually evident in his motions that he somehow... thinks this is some Good Deal. to follow that up: ) You should be honored this Kurenai-sama is willing to forfeit this much time.
are you really tho
it only became more prevalent with the way his hand pressed against him. keigo's brow quirked, his jaw set, like he wasn't sure what kind of expression he wanted to wear. confused? disgusted? flustered? angry? it took bits and pieces from all columns, to be honest. though he was not uncomfortable with physical contact, the way this guy did it... was unsettling. plus, he didn't know him! ]
What kind of compensation is that?!
[ plus... the way he said "i'll watch you..." keigo felt like his blood iced over. ]
Having someone watch me isn't what I'd call a privilege! I don't even know you!
