[ he's been there from the beginning, quietly sitting on another bench a little ways away, one that's shadowed by the overhanging branches of a nearby bush. though he chose that spot because the foliage frames the moon nicely, the shade also masks his presence, and he's always been rather good at making himself unobtrusive in the first place. so serpico can't possibly blame luna for failing to notice him.

it's only when his carrier returns from exploring the garden, flitting through the branches to land on his head that she seems to realize he's there.

she sounds flustered. serpico gives a sheepish smile, dipping his head a little in apology. ]
