Raise Your Glass - Open & Closed Prompts
Who: Lola and you!
When: All Month, time is a vague illusion anyway. This is a catch-all for threads.
Where: Shopping in town, Training areas, elsewhere.
What: Lola Catch-all for the month.
Rating: Currently PG, Lola's on her best behavior, individual threads will be marked if that changes.
Note: Starters all in prose, will match styles.
Lola was given a wonderful gift, and she thought about saving it for a special occcasion... for a few seconds. Then she decided that the month would just have to be worthy of this gift being used, so she was going to spend the month having as much fun as she could manage. Going out, enjoying herself. Making moves she wasn't sure about making before. Now, now she was going to do it all.
So through September Lola's hair is a rainbow of color, front and center is violet. Red bleeds into the brighter colors orange and yellow on the right side of her head. With darker indigo, blue, and green on her left side. She's careful to brush and style her hair to do the most interesting things with all the colors.
A. Open - Shopping
Of course, new hair meant new clothes. Some of her flowery prints and bright tops simply didn't work with the colors her hair was currently. Certain colors that worked with the pastel pink didn't work anymore. Not for right now. Eventually the rainbow would fade and she'd go back to her naturally unnatural hair. But until then she needed new things to wear.
So Lola is picking out shirts, dresses, and skirts. Maybe you went with her (terrible life choice), or you might just be nearby in the store (also a terrible fate)? But right now she is asking for your opinion. She's never had her hair this extravigant before. She wants to do it right.
"So, what do you think?"
B. Open - Workout
Lola got herself beat up in the last battle. She made a lot of choices, they seemed like good choices when she made them, and even as a rook she was put through her paces and needed a bit of healing. So, now... she's actually trying to work on things she noticed she did wrong. Or, rather, wasn't prepared for. On top of stretching, her usual workout, she was messing with weights trying to do things she saw the stronger, beefier of heroes doing while they trained.
She's... surprising good at this bit, doing curls and various other weight lifting to build strength. Of course there was a simple reason for why she paid such attention to other heroes working out. She enjoyed a good slice of beefcake, and paying good attention to the things she enjoyed was a skill she had. You can help correct the mistakes in her form, tell her that she's got the wrong weights, anything like that. Or tell her to wear a little more than shorts and a tank top.
This is weird, she looks so... serious. Nothing like how Lola usually acts.
C. Minato - Dinner
Lola tried to play it cool, asking Minato out. Her reasoning was... well, dubious. But her intention she was completely set on. The last war was very... real, to her, moreso than past activities. She was a lot more involved, and a lot more in danger, it was just so... she didn't like all the feelings.
So she wanted something that made her feel better, something... in her element. Something that she was good at, nobody questioning her choices and how they could get her killed. What she was good at was boys. She knew what they liked, she knew how to talk to them. Usually. But more than that, she wanted a nice night out with a boy. And, well, there was only one guy she could really think of for this. So she asked him out.
It was meant to be a casual thing, just because Lola's hair was cute. But... Lola wanted to be looked at, that way boys look at girls. So she got a nice dress and did herself up to look her best. Which is definitely what Lola is good at. She took great care to brush her hair in a way to make the wild colors of her hair play off each other. And she waited to meet Minato, for dinner, she just wanted something to work out for her.
Was that wrong?
D. Soleil - Training
Lola knocked on the door to K103, not dressed to her finest cutest form but dressed in her workout clothes. Form fitting shorts and a tank top, as well as her heroic weapons. Lola's hair was tied back in her usual messy pigtails, that she used for athletics. They looked a bit messier with her hair in all the colors of the rainbow, she kept fidgeting with them to try and make the colors play off each other (but this style was a lost cause).
"Soleil? You home?" Lola called, not really able to wait patiently if she tried.
E. Sion - King 110
Some days Lola was a good hero, training, and sparring, and trying to be the best little hero she could be. Other days she was an okay hero, enjoying the fame and attention as she wandered the town, using it to get boys and men to buy her nice things. But being personable, charming, and socially capable had to help their status with the common people. And then days like today she was a teenager. In her room, at her mirror, trying various make-up styles to go with the new coloring of her hair. Something she did when she changed from the pink and purple pixie cut to the bubblegum lockes she was best known for here.
She just was going to spend her morning, while Allen was out doing whatever, figuring out what her make-up should be while she rocked her new hair. Making sure she looked her best when she had to. Not like she expected any company or had any plans for the day.
F. Wildcard!
If you have any other idea for a thread with Lola, throw it at me, it'll probably work out fine. Or contact me via PM.

training training training
[Soleil replied as she finished pulled a shirt on and slipping her headband into her hair. She remembered making plans with Lola before the battle back in Gammon. So here she is fulfilling those plans!
Give her a moment and she'll be opening the door.]
Are you ready to go train?
no subject
I mean, I don't have any plans. Except I usually dance around trying not to touch the ground for as long as I can!
*Lola's good at making work into play. It makes the work easier.*
no subject
[Closing the door to her room, Soleil and Lola can head out to a place to train now.]
Where do you usually go to train?
no subject
*Lola basked in attention like a cat in a sunbeam.*
Um, I usually start jumping off the roof. Into the training area behind the hall?
*Said with zero chalant involved. She just... jumps off the roof, no big deal.*
no subject
[W-well, looks like she has to just jump off and go after her as well. Right? So that's what she'll do.]
no subject
*Surprise, Lola's hair isn't pink! Anyway Lola will just head for the stairs to the roof. It's the best place to start.*
no subject
[Following closely! So that they can keep up their conversation.]
no subject
*Lola plays with her half-a-rainbow pigtail. Definitely enjoying the kind words of how natural Lola isn't Lola.*
I'm super jealous so many people here have naturally pretty colors for their hair. Like yours!
no subject
[She laughs a little. Twirling her hair a bit.]
But I think if you can change hair colors all you want...then you should!
no subject
*Lola loves being told she's doing it right, even on things she'd do without any intention of changing if someone didn't approve.*
It's even easier here, with charms, and potions, and the occasional magic color stealing stone. My hair is a lot healthier here than at home.
*Lola pushed open the roof door and jumped to the ledge. Just... she was standing next to Soleil and then she was flying through the air and landing in a crouch at the ledge.*
Oh good! There aren't that many people down there. I don't have to worry about crashing into anyone.
no subject
[Whoa, impressive. Soleil is laughing a bit, clearly impressed at her jumping ability.]
So your shoes do that?
no subject
*Lola was eight. Lola really shouldn't have tried.*
Yup. Best way to get around town without a car. It... sorta gets me in trouble, as most people can't keep up with me if I run off in a battle.
no subject
[Okay so maybe the reason Soleil wouldn't change her haircolor was because she had no iea what bleach was or how to apply hair color. Thank god for natural pink hair
(anime™).]That's a good thing if you have to run away, right?
no subject
*Lola's hair is really dark, like chocolate. Lola dyes her hair really bright light things, like bubblegum. So she has to do a lot of work on it.*
Well, yeah, but I don't always have to run away. Normally I run toward stuff, I'm tough and I can do this.
*Lola measures one of the strawman targets, leaps off the roof and comes down feet first into the poor straw person's chest, another blast from her boots and she flies backwards... and the straw target flies into the wall.*
See!
*Lola leaps from the ground back to the roof, like that was normal for people.*
no subject
So when you dye your hair it's kind of the same process as fabric? That's pretty neat!
[And then she watches Lola make her move on the training dummies.]
That's pretty cool! But how would you deal with multiple enemies?
[Soleil is going to set up a circle of straw people.]
Say your surrounded? What then?
no subject
*Hmm... Lola has to think about this. If they were throwing things at her she'd probably already be moving around the circle doing things. But without that reflexive 'do not get hit by spells' reaction she has to think out what she'd do.*
Probably something like, this..?
*She took a step, and blasted off the ground toward the first dummy. A fireball starting to form in her hand. She kicked off the first dummy launching herself backwards, she threw the fireball at a dummy to her left, then kicked off the dummy behind her. A pink barrier formed to give her a place to kick off and change directions. So she could put her knees into the face of a fourth dummy before landing.*
And by this point I'd hope that someone noticed and helped distract the other four!
*Lola how are you alive...*
no subject
[She laughs a little. Taking a step back. She was definitely at least trying to give pointers.]
It's good to have someone backing you up, but it's also good to know that you can defeat them all yourself if need be or if help is on its way!
[She'll continue watching though, and she'll give pointers.]
no subject
*Experience said her mobility was her best trait. When she couldn't move she couldn't fight. But taking out a large group at once wasn't really her, she could just move and pick off a few, and then get out of dodge.*
This many people I don't think I can take them all out before one of them hits me. And if I'm trying to cast it'll really hurt.
C (OBVIOUSLY)
He arrives at the agreed upon meeting spot just a couple minutes after the time. Fashionably late? Maybe a little, but no more than five. When he sees her, he does notice the dress, as well as the fact that her hair is a little more...exciting? (Which is difficult to say when you've got pink hair to begin with.) ]
You did you hair.
[ See, look! Guy! Notices things! Good job, Minato. ]
no subject
*Lola twirled to show off her hair, her dress, her body... Lola's big on showing off, it's just who she is. She likes it, it's why it didn't matter if Minato didn't put on his best (she hoped), as long as she looked good.*
You like it?
no subject
I do. [ At least he's quick to agree, right? ] I feel underdressed.
[ He's definitely fashionable, but not fancy. ]
You sure you can be seen with me?
no subject
You're fine, very nice to look at. And girls are suppose to have to try harder. It's one of the best parts about dressing up!
*Lola didn't mind that boys could be fashionable with half the work, she enjoyed looking good no matter how much toil it was for her. Plus, if he looked too good, people might not be looking at her!*
Shall we go?
no subject
...Hm. And it doesn't bother you?
[ Well, clearly not, she's quite proud of herself, and he's in no position to disagree. At her part, Minato nods and motions for her to follow. ]
It's about a fifteen minute walk.
no subject
*Lola's not really great at the whole... social awareness thing. She just knows that she likes attention, and boys will follow a cute butt anywhere.*
Perfect. So... did everyone get a present after the last battle? Is that going to be a new thing now?
*She wouldn't mind if she and her roommate were special, but it felt like it was a participation trophy of gifts. Especially Allen's.*
no subject
It's not that common.
[ First real time for him, at least. ]
What'd you get?
no subject
*Lola is always fine with being looked at, so long as it isn't like a really awkward thing that causes a stir and people to gossip. But right now it'd be a bit awkward for Minato to look at her behind so that can wait for later.*
The hair dye of course, I mean isn't it the sweetest gift!?
*Lola you are like one of a half dozen people to come out on top from that little present explosion.*
no subject
That's for Minato to know and Lola to find out. ]
It's pretty cool. [ He won't pretend it isn't. ] I'm guess it was a potion?
no subject
*Lola, who could barely keep her attention on school for five second increments, was well aware of all the rules of how to dye one's hair. She beamed at all the attention.*
What'd you get? You got something right?
no subject
...I got a statue.
[ Er...how should he describe it. ]
...Of a celebrity.
[ Close enough? ]
no subject
*Well, Minato likes girls, Lola jumped to a conclusion she probably shouldn't have.*
I haven't been keeping up with celebrities here, I probably should. Just... it's so much work without twitter.
no subject
Tanaka...pretty. ]
...It's gold?
[ That's close enough, right? It's...expensive, not pretty. ]
No, he's from home. Not here.
[ Which begs the question of how Teddy knew of him, but still. ]
We're almost there.
no subject
*Lola didn't much care how much they knew, well... unless they knew about this or that thing she's done in the past. Or that she was reading about masturbation in class that time! Or any of the other embarrassing things that have happened.*
Good. Not that I mind walking with a cute guy, I just like food.
