It all began in that moment [Open!]
Who: Caren and you!
When: Throughout July, before and after dungeon
Where: Caissa, Petrosian
What: Getting all the job stuff in one place. And overflow.
Rating: None, NSFW/R-18, etc
Angry Birds
[There's a high pitched screeching noise, and it is not from a bird. Or a griffon, or a person even being attacked. Instead, it looks as if there is...some sort of protester? Activist? That has spotted Caren's traqing one of the griffons. Caren hops down easily to take the dart out of the bird and see about getting it to the holding area (or whatever they're calling it these days) where it can rest peacefully. But there's the activist, badgering her with questions, red in the face.
At first, Caren ignores them; she's trying to do her job, and she's not going to be stopped from doing it by someone who is being a pest. But they get louder and attracting more attention, getting in her way as she tries to move and get ready for the next target that...she snaps.]
Will you not cease?
[And they go silent. Not because they shut up; they're still trying to talk, but their voice has been rendered inaudible.
From the way Caren is staring, she didn't mean to do that either. Whoops.]
Anyway Here’s Wonderwall
[Nnnnnngh they have to learn about Gammon. Well, she supposes it's a place that they could...possibly...use as a safehouse location someday. So she had to do the research anyway. At least this way she was getting paid for it, and it's not suspicious for her to be asking questions about various things about Gammon.
One of the things she's decided to do (other then sample fish and chips; it was a need to thing if she was going to present about it) was find some Gammon music. She has a gammerphone with a pair of headphones on it and....
Her expression on her face is odd. But after a moment, she takes the headphones off and offers them to be listened to.]
I'm not sure how to describe this. Indulge me for a moment?
[She's a bit of a musician herself, so if she's at a loss of words for this, this ought to be good...or bad. Or something.]
Harvest Soon: The Prequel
How wasteful.
[It's perfectly good belt that was chucked into the river! Though now it looks like it's been ruined now, thanks to all the water its absorbed. She shakes her head still, and continues her tracking over the river, bare footed and wearing little more then a sleeveless blouse and a short skirt. She's staring into the water, fishing things out and plopping things into a popcorn bucket she found downstream. She might be muttering to herself because...well, she's more or less complaining about people, like the cheerful thing she is.]
You'd think that humans here who are so environmentally concerned would-
[She pauses in mid sentence with a startled yelp. Seems she stepped on something sharp by accident, and it hurts.]
Dye Hard
[She'd done her share of research for this before even stepping onto the boat. Hence, Caren is not dressed in her usual dull colors out of uniform-no whites, no browns. Instead, after pulling on her gloves, she rolls her shoulders once, and tosses second hand piece of clothing, something that could possibly be taken as a cloak. It's worn, but it's either red, black and purple. Caren herself is dressed in a purple dress and black vest.
It looks like it should be sweltering, but she doesn't seem to care. Maybe that's why she's wearing her hair up in a side pony tail for once. But...]
Put that on, or keep it close. Word has it that they want those colors, for one reason or another.
[She stares. She's not moving this boat until there's compliance or a show of any of the colors on their person.]
You recall how we're going to be luring them out, correct?

Ebullient. That's generous.
[Her mouth quirks briefly, before it fades.]
But I agree in that Gammon seems interesting. The food concepts aren't terrible, the landscape seems tranquil...
And who knows? We may be asked to aid Gammon sooner or later. Better to know what to avoid then going in blind.
no subject
That's some good thinking-- we might as well have some good will built up just in case, yeah? I mean, can't hurt just to read up on 'em anyway, but you're right. Gotta think of the bigger picture, too.
no subject
Exactly so. We may be called to assist Gammon in future plans, especially if the war plans become more aggressive.
And, we should have a better understanding of our allies.
[She's still learning about Blanc but hey. It's a larger place then Gammon.]
I'd have done the same with Noir if everything didn't sound smeared with propaganda.
no subject
"If" it becomes more aggressive, huh? [Wars only went in one direction, and it was never towards being less aggressive.]
Makes sense about Noir, though-- I'm sure they don't want anybody feelin' sympathetic for the people they're supposed to hate, yeah?
no subject
[Which could change. Ryder not withstanding, she's uneasy at the idea of changing the prime minster.]
It depends on political factors on how dirty it gets and how quickly. No one wants to say anything nice about the Noir-not after their years of oppression, mana pollution, and so on.
[She waves a hand.]
But that ensured the bias against mana use, which in turn made it difficult to try and find knowledge and mana resources.
no subject
S'true though. Aside from all the war trouble, I've been having a devil of a time learnin' about mana-- guess that's part of why I needed a wise teacher in the first place. Even the library's not great with information, and I feel like I'm gonna wind up feeling like a newbie over it for a while.
no subject
[Oh, the sarcasm is strong in these two.]
But that's why we need to have lessons together. Perhaps we could even see about some training sessions with your fellow pawns?
[She does like the idea. More newbies to torment!]
We've had them before, but it was a few months back.
no subject
We'll be able to cover a lot more and get more done that way, and it'll help keep anybody from slackin' too much. Awfully generous of you to offer that kinda thing. You sure you won't mind too much?
no subject
And some people would be far less bored.]
No, I won't mind. I know that if I get the word out, I wouldn't be the only teacher.
Besides, it might help with my own skills. I'm certain I have areas in which I am lacking.
[Mostly the sound magic part of thing. It's something in which she needs very fine control over, she thinks.]
no subject
Then we'll all be helpin' each other, yeah? Nothing wrong with a mutually beneficial relationship when it comes to this sorta thing. [He smiles, nodding.] And nothing wrong with improving in the areas you're short in, either.
no subject
[And since it's happened before, why not? It's something they needed.]
Especially since we'll be depending on each other to survive.
no subject
Might be a good way to get people to show up: "We should all train together, 'cause we need each other so we don't die". S'really not a bad tagline.

Ever have that happen Lavi? Have you ever made something appear effortless, despite or because of all the work you've put in?
no subject
I suppose I have. S'like you said, isn't it? You work hard and do somethin' people think looks amazing, and they wind up going "Wow, that's impressive", without putting too much thought into how you got so skilled.
[He smiles, seemingly less concerned about it.] Just means you gotta keep workin' at it so you can stay sharp, that's all.
