[closed] everybody's working for the weekend + overflow for july intro log
Who: Rin, Saber, Kija, Hakuno, Ed, Setsuna, and Bolin (and anyone from the July intro!)
When: Throughout the month of June, into mid-July
Where: Various sites; Caissa to start, then Lasker
What: Completing jobs and doing good deeds. Repurposing "first date" time, in some cases. Doing intro log things.
Rating: Should be pretty safe, will be updated accordingly. Right now the only warnings may be for death and occasional cute... and some scandalousness... TW: mentions of suggestive things in the water festival thread!
Have a Drink (from June 5th on, Caissa/closed to Hakuno)
[it wasn't actually rin's first choice for a convenient way to occupy her days in caissa, but... money is valuable, and money must be earned. just because the worlds have changed, that doesn't make the economics any different. and rin loves money, so of course she finds herself contributing at least some effort to the paid, heroic cause.
it took her a little time to find her own niche in the ongoing dance of the drops festivities. fortunately, people are predictable, and, also fortunately, a pair of pretty female saviors will add a certain charm to the ongoing water fights. dragging hakuno along with her, they've usurped a simple shaded booth where a vendor has asked them to hand out popsicles and other frozen treats for the occasion.
the major draw of the booth, though, is to greet two of blanc's own newest heroes. in bikinis.]
Here you go~! [the smile rin has stretched across her face is almost too saccharine to be believable, her co-conspirator in building public morale will note. she passes a colorful ice cream cone to a waiting patron.] Enjoy the festival, today! Recharge and head back out to receive summer's blessings!
TSI: Train Scene Investigation (from June 25th to July 3rd, Lasker/closed to Saber and Kija)
[after hearing the dismal news, there's no way she can abandon those rail cars. rin sets out from lasker to search for the strewn cars; are you accompanying her?
the harsh and unrelenting landscape doesn't seem to dull her determination to discover survivors. if the coast is mysteriously clear, she listens for cries of help or the pitiful whimpers that could only belong to a small, and frightened, child. just as well, she'll keep her eyes open for bodies—whether motionless or still struggling—the cars themselves, and any other pieces of wreckage, always approaching them to hunt for more unfortunate victims.
throughout it all, her face is grim, but her wavering blue eyes betray how much the tragedy affects her.]
Soul Train (from June 25th to July 15th, Lasker/closed to Ed, Setsuna, and Bolin)
[it's not even a question that she would chip in to aid the refugees. when she isn't elsewhere, rin is somewhere within the shield, busy with the work of providing relief for those rudely displaced by the trainwreck.
occasionally, she's trotting off with heavy baskets of clothing, blankets, and various supplies to carry them up to a certain floor of a safehouse. if she doesn't foist one (or several) on you—]
Here, take this. I don't want to hear any complaints.
[—you're with her as she knocks on the door to a newly arrived, and traumatized, resident.]
It's all right. We're here to help you.
[at other times, rin is delivering practical first aid among a group of survivors, adding to the ongoing discussion of noir's attack in a manner that is neither impolite nor too sugarcoated. while winding a bandage around an injured arm, she admits,]
No, you're right. The better decision would have been to split up our forces equally. There was no need for this folly in dividing us.
[some of those gathered nod their heads in soft agreement. some are more outspoken and angry.
most often, though, rin is whipping up homemade meals with that specific touch of care in a makeshift tent, station, or even small kitchen commandeered for the cooking effort. she holds the end of a wide spoon to your face, her hand cupped beneath it to catch any spills, and asks,]
Will you please try it? [she smiles warmly, giggling a little.you may be wondering oh my god is this really rin tohsaka] Hehe! I want to make sure it meets approval.
[who knows what she's prepared, exactly, but it definitely smells comforting and divine... and tastes rich and delicious, with a distinct hint of spiciness.]

Overflow for the July Intro (July 8th/closed to a bunch of people)
[rin's top-level here! threads will be linked and continued below.]

it's not like there's anyone she's attracted to, here...
rin sighs, scanning her over critically.]
Are you going to chicken out? We'll make less pay.
[at that moment, almost as proof of her disdain for anything but money, a young child from the crowd takes up the initiative to fire a shot of water from a squirt gun right at rin's bikini top.
the weather is warm. the water is cold.]
no subject
[She knew men could be perverts, she just hadn't registered herself as a target for ogling, even with all this flesh bared. She's still mulling that stunning revelation over, when Rin gets blasted.]
...I-I should go get a towel.
no subject
What, will you pat me down?
[she brushes off the concern with a hand, though of course hakuno could still fetch the towel.]
You ought to "readjust your viewpoint" a little bit faster. Men will take advantage of you, at this rate. Don't you want to interact with boys like a normal girl? It would be shameful after a while, otherwise.
no subject
[That seemed really forward, just laying hand on her like that. Even with good intentions. So Hakuno makes a discreet gesture at her own chest, turns to dig a towel out of her bag, and politely offers it to Rin, all while considering her words.]
I've never met a normal boy or girl, so I... don't really know how to start. But you're right.
no subject
... You don't think you're worth someone else's attention?
[rin quirks a brow. the less notice anyone gives to her chest, the better.]
no subject
[Hakuno might not have Gilgamesh levels of pride, but she does have at least some. She also has a level of decency, too, which is why she doesn't gawk at Rin as she dries herself, instead passing a thoughtful gaze around at the festival and crowds surrounding them.]
There were just... always more important, pressing things to consider. The people who have been interested in me and the people that have tried to kill me or worse have overlapped enough in the past that it's... daunting, I suppose is the best word for it.
[She wonders if this counts as trauma. The warped love of BB and her Alter Egos still lingers, like a heat haze.]
no subject
[rin is brutal, but it must be clear from her tone that her words come from a softer place, as she presses the towel to her bikini top.]
There will always be weirdos. But, unless something is seriously wrong with you, I don't see why you wouldn't find a few decent options.
no subject
[That sounds a lot less childish than saying she wants to try honestly falling in love, Hakuno thinks with a tinge of self-satisfaction.]
Of course, I know just standing around waiting for something like that is lazy, and I do plan to put forth more effort once I've picked up a few more hobbies.
no subject
You sound like you're talking about yourself as if you're a blank slate.
[is she?]
no subject
[Hakuno coughs, offering up a small, slightly awkward smile.]
I have... I guess you could say 'background knowledge' of all the things an average girl should know, just not... personal specifics or much actual experience. The Moon Cell isn't something to be underestimated, even when designing disposable background characters. I've been seventeen or so from the beginning, but altogether, I don't think I've existed for an entire year yet.
no subject
[she almost wants to ask what hobbies she has. but,]
Never mind. We're wasting time. I want you to really bring us the colle, and lure in our next customer.
no subject
you want me to—...uh. Um, but, how? Like, just calling out the way we have been, or...?
no subject
[rin crosses her arms over her chest, tapping a finger. it's amazing how she can look this impatient in a bikini, maybe. then again, maybe not.]
It's been quiet. I said "lure". So, lure in the lovely citizens of Caissa to help them reap summer's bounty!
no subject
[Apparently, Tohsaka's subscribe to that school of nurturing that is patterned after the old adage of throwing lion cubs off of cliffs and shoving baby birds out of nests. Hakuno takes a few calming, bracing breaths, before giving Rin a small nod and stepping forward, mustering up her smile again and grabbing a few more treats as she forces herself to face the crowd.
Alone, this time.]
Hello, everybody! We hope you're having a wonderful day at the festival. If you're looking for a way to beat the heat, then step right up! We'll be happy to take care of you.
no subject
also, it's the best way to teach a student, hakuno. look, she wouldn't have nearly made it this far with magic if magi training wasn't what it is...]Not good enough. Really work it. Walk, walk. [conveniently, the space in front of their booth is perfect for a little roaming advertisement.] Wink. Bat your eyelashes. You know.
[well, possibly she doesn't, rin.]
no subject
...r-right.
[She doesn't know at all, but she takes the advice to heart and does what she can to apply it. At the very least, she's catching more than a few appreciative eyes.]
no subject
her best still isn't good enough, her teacher appraises, after studying her for a few seconds longer. an eyebrow twitches. the slobbering dogs she does manage to attract from afar don't even enter into the equation—hakuno needs to do more.
so, rin slips behind her and circles her arms around her naked midriff, cuddling up close to her in a hug at her back and... her hands proceed to... climb up and cup hakuno's breasts... those are definitely hands on breasts.]
Mm, please come celebrate with us! We have so much ice cream, we don't know what to do with it all—! If you don't take it, it'll drip everywhere on her, isn't that terrible?
[cue a saucy wink. and a batting of her eyelashes.
sorry, hakuno.]
no subject
[HANDS.
HANDS ON HER CHEST.
Hakuno has no idea how to deal with this, so her own hands just hover uncertainly, the frozen treats beginning to drip down over her fingers, as if bending to Rin's will where Hakuno hesitates.]
no subject
[she hisses, barely perceptible, in hakuno's ear.
at least it seems the show has drawn an admirable crowd. blushing young men (and some women) advance, complimenting on swimsuits and twintails and just about begging for the sweets hakuno's clutching. it's all a little like a tornado; it ends quickly, with rin smartly sending the last of them away as she guides hakuno back to their booth, her hand gripping her wrist. well, someone's happy but guess which someone it is...]
no subject
[Still, Hakuno bears with it as best she can, raising her hands out more prominently and nestling back against Rin instead of staying rigid and alarmed. She even schools her expression into bashful hope, rather than terrified. Once it's over, it takes her a couple minutes to find her voice.]
R-Rin-san, why? That was... um, it, was it really necessary to...?
no subject
Of course.
