What: Caren found out she can make mapo tofu and is sharing with everyone. Heaven help us all.

THe Halls of Glory smell a little different today. Instead of the usual fare that the others might know from the weekly menu, there's a different scent. Something that may remind heroes of Airy, Ma Jiang dishes, or maybe, more simply, of home.

This was the result of Caren's cooking and some hunting on her part. And the results may be quite appealing. There are pots of rice, still steaming, and various bowls filled with the result known as mapo tofu. Some of them are spicer then others, and she hasn't seen fit to label which are very spicy, and which are quite mild. The only thing she has labelled, with a rim of green around the bowls, are the vegan variations, for those who can't, or do not, eat meat or meat by products.

Consider it a game of spice roulette. Because there are other bowls as well, with crushed cucumber-hot pepper salad, spicy tofu, and something that has spewed spinach and garlicy noodles within. But hey! You may be able to cool off with one of the pots of tea around the place-or with one of the rare tubs of ice cream of various flavors, kept chilled with an icy spell.

The cutlery and bowls are disposable, and there are trashbags to clean up after yourself. She's not going to do it for you!

But hey. Who can say no to free food?

[Oh, Hakuno certainly has limits. She just... doesn't know what they are yet. She finishes a mouthful of rice before putting her spoon down, chewing quickly once he catches her attention.

Sorry to bother you, I just wondered...are you okay eating so much? [He tilts his head to one side] Most people I know who ate so much ended up with a stomach ache later.

Um, well, I'm still figuring out how much I can eat.

[She rubs the back of her neck, sheepish.]

My, um, physiology has changed since I came here.

[She actually has one, which is a big change indeed.]

[Sort of amazed. Also he knew it, there was totally magic that let people eat. Now if only he knew what it was he could tell Aigis]

[She fiddles with her spoon sheepishly.]

I didn't actually have a physical body, just a digital recreation of one. I was basically human--I could eat, and wear clothes, and feel and touch and hear things in that world--but, it's still different here.

Oh, you were like an AI? That's actually kind of neat. [Other worlds were so much more interesting than his own]

That's exactly what I was, yeah. I was based on a girl who's been in stasis for a few decades, but she had a fatal illness that destroyed her memory. So I guess, I just inherited her looks, really.

[She never expected to get called 'neat'. What a place.]

Oh wow...I've never heard of that sort of thing before. Either of them, really. There's so many differences between worlds...ah, sorry. I can get too curious about new things sometimes. [Sheepish]

Don't worry about it, it probably is interesting from the outside. [She gives a little shrug, but smiles too.] I've been living it, so not so much for me, but plenty of people have seemed interested so far.
