(open) Everyday's great at
Who: Lapis (
oneirism), Luna (
medicament) and YOU!
When: Sometime between 06/05 and 06/30
Where: Lasker
What: It's dress to impress time...expect not really?! Mascot's life is tough, but there's a way to make it easier...
Rating: PG?
[Since all the people who taken this job were told to walk around Lasker to invite people to the local park while wearing a costume of their choice, Lapis and Luna headed out from the gates and kept wandering around, encouraging the citizens to visit Dunyaland (also known as Everyone's Favorite Amusement Park™). Truth to be told...it wasn't the only thing they were planning to do.
Once they spot a fellow Hero, Lapis (wearing a black fox costume and holding a torch) and Luna (wearing a moon costume, some white clothes and covered in white powder) will sneak up on you and make an attempt to scare the Hero. Or maybe you will walk onto them while they're on their break?
Or maybe you're lost in a dark alley and need to find a way out? But are you sure you will be able to e̛̲͓s̞̣̣̬c̩ạ̷̻͔͙ͅp͙̻͟e͢?]

closed to Lapis
She steps in rather slowly, looking around the stuffy closet where they're supposed to keep the costumes.]
Excuse me, is anybody here?
[Where's the light switch? She can't find it.]
no subject
Which is why Lapis chose a black costume - makes it easier to blend into shadows and scare people. And she had just finished putting on her costume in the closet, when she hears a familiar voice. While she doesn't want to completely scare Luna, a liiiitttle scare can't hurt...
Luckily she brought a torch in here with her since the light in this closet died who knows how many years ago. So she takes a moment to shift around as quietly as possible to face Luna, waiting for her to step closer and - ]
... Afternoon, Luna. [Flicks on the torch to illuminate her masked face from underneath. Behold, true terror! ... Of a cute, plush black fox face, but it's close enough.]
no subject
Oh, Lapis...it's you. Hello.
[Smiling and blushing softly, she waves a greeting.]
Your mask is adorable! Are you going out by any chance?
[It would be really nice to go together
and scare some people, but if Lapis is done for today, she'll understand.]no subject
... Thank you, it looked like my carrier, so I couldn't resist. And yep, I just got changed. You going out now too?
[Lapis takes a moment to shine her torch along some of the costumes crammed alongside the walls of the cupboard, some cute and some... not so cute.]
no subject
It looks really good on you, too. I wonder if they have something that will suit—
[At the same moment, her eyes lay on the moon costume, which is...rather peculiar, especially since all other costumes are based on some creatures (well, maybe there is a creature looking like that, she doesn't know that), but there's no way she would wear something else.]
Yes, I just need to change. Could you please wait for me?
[Luna sure doesn't waste time, and removes her clothes on the spot to put on the costume. It's...weird, that goes without saying. Since there's a white powder attached, she covers her face and hands with it.]
Do Heroes often have to take up such jobs?
[The fact that it's one of the oddest jobs she has ever done is implied.]
no subject
And Luna's verdict on how she looks gets another smile from Lapis, and she keeps shining her torch around so that the other girl can see the selection. Though she stops the torch as her eyes settle on something, blinking in surprise at the... moon costume? Well, it would suit her, at least. Because Luna in a moon costume, ahahaha... ha.
So she nods and patiently waits as she gets changed, not even reacting to her removing her clothes then and there as she changes. It's... certainly a different costume, but hey, if it gets the job done then it should be fine.]
... Yep. Though usually it's... not as weird as this. Most of the time it's cleaning or doing errands for people.
[And as she speaks, she pops her fox head back on. Luckily she's able to speak loud enough to not be completely muffled.]
no subject
Well...some variety from time to time is fun too, I guess?
[Speaking of fun...she's standing in front of the door and she's not entirely sure if she can get past it without blocking the way.]
Oh...
[There's no use just standing here, so she tries to make it through, but...yep, she's stuck.]
no subject
... That's true. I just never expected wearing a fox costume was something I would do here.
[But ah... Now to figure out how to help Luna out the closet. Lapis shimmies back a bit to give her some more room, but nope. She's definitely stuck.
So she tries to help move Luna so that her side is facing the door, and then maybe she can edge her way out?]
Do you think you could get out if you ducked down a bit?
no subject
I should have put it on outside, shouldn't I?
[Her question ends with a sigh, but she tries to get past the door once again, bowing even deeper...one more step and she'll be free. But it's easier said than done.]
Could you give me a push?
no subject
... Probably. Or in a bigger closet.
[But no point in thinking that now, and instead she watches Luna, wondering if there's anything she could do to help. So at Luna's request, she gives a hum of agreement as she gets close enough to push.
One... Two... Three... And puuuuush!]
no subject
The push works wonders...however, if Luna could choose, she would definitely pick a happier end for herself. She sure ends up getting past the door finally, but not so long after she meets the floor with a loud thud.
She's fine for the most part, though!]
All this time, I thought that the moon can't fall down...
no subject
And then she giggles quietly when she hears Luna, waving her stubby arms and legs for a moment.]
... There's a first time for everything. [Pause.] Though I think I'm stuck now.
[This costume is too plushy and chubby to push herself or roll over, the fox requires assistance!]
no subject
This task is far more difficult that I assumed, really. Let me help you!
[It's high time to get back on her feet; Luna gets on her knees at first, trying to keep her head up at all times and stands up really slowly in order not to flop down again. She's a bit wobbly, but she's successful, in the end!
It's difficult to tell which part is harder, getting up or helping Lapis back up, but it doesn't change anything, really. Luna stands as close to the wall as possible and leans forward to offer Lapis a hand. With the wall behind her, there's no way she would tumble backwards, at least.]

Luna and Lapis will never figure out who this particular Hero is. That's because someone's wearing a box robot costume, covered top to bottom with no indication of physical features aside from the costume itself. It doesn't help that whoever this is... just not talking at all. Maybe they're being in character.
Either way, the mysterious box robot is wandering around, trying to entertain as much people as possible. Keyword: trying. Does picking a fight with male NPCs count? Said box robot has already defeated a shocking pile of NPCs, all crawling on the floor in awe at this mascot's skills.
"I can't believe I got defeated by a stupid mascot... How will I face my wife now..."
The women and children are excited, cheering for more: "Super Box is undefeatable! Super Box is going to protect everyone!" ]
no subject
From under her fox mask, Lapis blinks at the pile of NPCs as the women and children cheer. Glancing from the pile, to... Super Box? To Luna and then back to Super Box. That's one way to entertain the masses.
So she clears her throat, steps forward and then boldly points one fi... paw at Super Box. Time to make this situation even more ridiculous!!]
... Ohohoho! I see, Super Box, you are as strong as ever! [It's so hard to do this without laughing, especially since she's making her voice stupidly high-pitched. At least the children seem pumped for this new development.]
But today is the day that I - [Shit think of a name]
- "Volpe" - [Goddammit]
Will be the one to best you! [Then her plushie fox head tilts towards Luna to prompt her to go next - sorry Luna, this is what happens when you do this kind of thing with Lapis.]
no subject
S-So will I, Moonmoon! Y-You have no chance against us, Super Box!
[Her voice sure is trembling, but she's trying her best?! Luna even takes a step forward, to stay in line with Lapis.]
I-In the name of the moonmoon, I will punish you!
[Not so boldly, but she too does point her finger at Super Box. Place your bets, everyone.]
no subject
who are these jokers. No, this isn't funny. Super Box is genuinely confused!? HE NEEDS A SCRIPT. Whoever is in the mascot only researched about Super Box (the character) itself due to lack of time, so he needs help. Too bad that his confused, surprised face can't be seen underneath that cardboard box. Nobody will know that he needs said help.
He regrets this. He should've scanned through the other mascot characters too, even for just one sentence each... Well, whatever. Maybe he can actually just directly ask them? But Super Box isn't supposed to speak. He'll have to ask in the method the hero mascot does.
He lifts his arms in a questioning pose, asking "Who are you?"
But it's difficult without seeing his face, so it may come off as a rude shrug or a dismissive gesture instead (HE DOESN'T MEAN IT!!), turning into "Who the hell are you?" or maybe even "Should I be bothered?"
In any case, Super Box's response and this fancy entrance of new characters easily excites the surrounding crowd. They cheer, wanting more.
"That's our confident Super Box!" ... EXCEPT HE'S FAR FROM CONFIDENT INSIDE. ]
no subject
But for now, there's entertaining to be done! It's not like she did much research on the mascots, so she's just winging it here. And while she guesses that gesture means "what the hell" or "who are you" to their weird entrance, Lapis decides to go with what the crowd says.
Which is why she gives a loud, over-dramatic, scandalized gasp. This high-pitched voice is gonna murder her throat later...]
... So you're that confident then, Super Box?! Such insolence, to think you could stand against me and my companion, Moonmoon! [At least she can pretend that how strained her voice sounds is due to her being offended or whatever, instead of trying so hard not to laugh.
Her pointed paw goes to cover her masks mouth, while the other paw goes to hold Luna's free hand - both as a symbol of standing together against him as his rivals!! And also to maybe help with the other girls nerves.]
no subject
LapisVolpe along? Yes, it must beLunaMoonmoon. She's not even sure why Super Box won't answer them normally; is he mad? Maybe they shouldn't challenge him to a fight out of the blue, after all.But things have gone too far already, and it looks like not only their audience is enjoying the performance, but also more and more people are coming to watch them, curious of what's going to happen here.
Lapis' grip helps a lot, and so does a few cheers from the crowd. They're not too loud, but could it possibly mean that Volpe and Moonmoon have fans already?]
How should we settle this, though? Ah, I mean— [It's spoken merely in a whisper audible to Lapis, but she realizes it may be a bit impolite, so she adds with a louder voice:] How should we settle this, Super Box?! We're both ready for your challenge!
no subject
Super Box quickly holds his arms out, trying to make a "STOP" gesture — but again, it's easy to misinterpret what he's really saying. To the excited audience, it makes it seem like he's trying to allow the first move to the two other mascots.
"Waah! Super Box is so bold!"
"Let's see if they can handle our undefeated Super Hero!"
Increasingly becoming desperate, Super Box stomps one foot on the floor. He wants to say they're wrong! But also mistakenly comes across as, "Bring it on!" ]
no subject
But it's nice to see that their audience is enjoying this, which only just motivates her even more - the sounds of their cheers and excitement more than enough to encourage her to keep going. Especially since the crowd only seems to grow.
With her hand... paw, still firmly holding Luna's, she tilts her fox mask slightly so that she can hear Luna. That's a good question, and judging by how Super Box kind of... flails around at Luna's words, she guesses that whoever this is has no clue what's going on.
The show must go on though, and so Lapis goes along with what the audience is saying.]
... I see, ladies first then! As expected of the chivalrous Super Box! But you shall regret this kindness! [Her grip tightens around Luna's hand for a second, a cue for her to follow her lead, as Lapis raises her other paw into the air.]
Prepare for our double attack, Super Box! [And with an over-dramatic, over-zealous battle cry, she leads the charge towards Super Box!! Soon bringing a paw against his shoulder, acting as if it's a hard blow when it's really just a tap, and she uses this split second to whisper - her voice a bit hoarse from being so high-pitched.]
Just play along, pretend you're attacking us and then we can pretend to be blown back.
no subject
Could it be that they've been reading Super Box's gestures wrong all this time? Watching their "opponent" stomping the ground with one foot, she realizes that it may be the case. But the moment Lapis announces their double attack after her short speech, it becomes too late to change anything.
Soon, they're both standing on the other mascots either sides and only then Luna finishes their double attack with a similar tap on the shoulder; the only difference is that she leaves some of the white powder on the costume.]
T-Take that, Super Box!
[She may or may not be already thinking up a proper apology, even if it was just a light poke.]
Is it over, Volpe? Did we win?
sorry for the delay!
But after hearing Volpe reassure him, Setsuna is somewhat relieved to hear it. Because it means they're the ones that intentionally slid themselves in... For what reason, he has no idea, maybe they just wanted to help him entertain these people. Either way, he'll go with the flow now that he has confirmation.
Volpe's voice, though... It's extremely familiar. He has a feeling this is someone he knows. He wonders if Moonmoon is the same. Anyway, to respond to their feelings, he fakes pain. After being tapped twice on both shoulders, he pretends to stagger to catch the audience's attention again. (Since they were wondering why they paused there.)
"Oh, no! Super Box! He's hurt!"
"Wow... Volpe and Moonmoon are so strong, too!"
"Super Box!! Don't give up!!"
Super Box allows the dramatic effect to run for a while longer. But before the children would start crying, he "pulls himself together" and stands once more. He points at the two, then shakes his head as if to indicate that it isn't over!
"Ah... He's okay!! Super Box! Super Box!"
As the audience starts cheering, Super Box starts running forward again before returning his own counterattack... That is, he pokes both Volpe and Moonmoon on their foreheads. ]
It's okay I'm super late too!
The cries of the audience and how Super Box keeps up the dramatic stumbling prompts Lapis to place one hand on her hip and the other near her mouth, letting out the most over-the-top evil villain laugh. Quietly hoping that Super Box will hurry up with whatever he has in mind, because this is torture on her throat.
So when he pokes her on the forehead, she makes a big show of stumbling back - except she stumbles too much and actually falls over. Pausing for a moment, before flailing her arms and legs with a huff - the sight is way cuter than it should be.]
Aaaaaaah, it seems I have been bested! But Moonmoon and I will get you next time, Super Box!
[And now it should be obvious that she can't... actually get back up. Her costume is too fluffy!]
never be sorry for that ;u; squishes your cheeks
Because she definitely does; the counter attack is super effective on Luna as well, after all. As much as she'd like to control her fall, it's impossible. Lying on the ground just next to Volpe for a while, she rolls to the side and then on her knees.]
We...we won't forget this, Super Box! You better watch your cardboard back!
[Whew, she's back up on her feet! But she can't say the same about her partner in crime who's still flailing on the ground.
Maybe it's not the most graceful way of leaving, but Luna sure is trying to roll Lapis away from the Super Box.]
