[Open] I see what's mine and take it
Who: Caren and you!
When: After the Adra housewarming, throughout June
Where: Lasker, Halls of Glory, Caissa
What: Caren ranked up
Rating: None yet, but will be updated if it does!
A: Have a drink
If you don't mind I-
[She didn't get to finish her sentence. She had just wanted to get over to the merchants so she could tend the fires. Instead, her politeness was answered with water to the face. Now, she would have been fine if it was fresh water. She might have even been fine if it was just her first shot. But this was around her fifth, or twentieth, maybe even the hundredth time. And this water smelled funny.
...heck it might not have been that, but they were in her way and thought they could get away with it. She offered a grim little smile, baring her teeth.]
Oh. You wanted me to tag you back? All you had to do was ask.
[This citizen likely thought it was good fun to drench the tiny hero. Really, it was a good thing that she was a rook, otherwise she might have had bruises on her face from all the shots she had taken.
But with a flicked hand upwards, she summoned water from one of the geysers. It came around, hovering like a ball; then another flick of her wrist, and it started spinning, right over her hand. Her smile turned into a snarl.]
I suggest you run while you can.
B: Five mornings at Dunya's
[The costume was awful. There was really no two ways about it, it was awful. It was made for someone taller than Caren, that was for certain, and she had to go around like some sort of idiot, attracting attention. Well sure she could attract attention, but it wasn't...quite like this. Not in a suit that smelt funny, flopped around like the suit was possessed, and...really, she didn't have any ideas.
....was that a screaming fox? That might have been someone in a costume who was running around screaming. Sounded like they couldn't take it anymore. She understood the feeling.]
God help me with this. I don't know what to do.
[Because well, being violent, while fun, wasn't actually very productive. And it didn't earn her money, which could be important in the future. Particularly if she wanted to make sure that she had it when she needed it.]
C: Training with wires
[A rank up, and she had new weapons. It was...a funny set actually, and one that tickled her sense of humour a bit. Wires, razor sharp, that could extend far further then her shawl. She could conduct spells through these gloves, through the wires, she thought-it was perfect. But...like all things, there were problems getting from one point to another.
She brought her hand up. A single wire, thick as a man's index finger, rose from one of the steel rings at the end of her knuckles. She aimed it towards the practice dummy, her face grim with determination. Sweat trickled down one temple as it moved closer, closer....and flopped to the ground, so close but so far.
There was a wordless little growl, and she was able to retract it, rapid and frustrated, nearly hitting herself, or someone standing too close in the process.
Doesn't matter. She's going to try again.]
D: General training/studying
[It wasn't just the wires that Caren was studying. There were the general lessons that she was using with her shawl, trying to get a better feel for it; the spells, which she tried to manage and do very carefully. Sometimes she could be seen, with various weapons-mostly whips and shields-trying to go through drills. There was general practice with gymnastics, jogging, and other things too.
She also sought others out to practice, with one form of weapon or another. Maybe with a jerk of the chin, a narrowing of the eyes and a quiet, but confident, challenge.
Still others, she could be found in the library, taking in all sorts of books. Books on sound waves, on magic, on tactics and war. Though...she was more then likely to nod off in the library then anywhere else, mostly by accident.
Though heaven help you if you tried to take the book away. She was a surprisingly light sleeper when it came to taking things in her possession.]
E: Exploring Lasker
[It was surprisingly beautiful here. Then again...Caren always did like the fog. There was the whistle of the ocean. She didn't have to wear her hat here, and hide from the sun. That made things easier, after she did the jobs.
There was a lot to see. There were beautiful items of clothing to look at and try on; cafes where she could watch people, and drink a cup of coffee. (She didn't know what to think of the themed ones though. Most of those got a weird look before she moved on.) The food was interesting, and she resolved to pack some with her for the ride back to Caissa. She was heavily amused though at the churches. The haven for the god of friendship...
what a crock. At least the other parts of the city were far more honest, even if a little obsessed with a weird card game.]

Hit me up with something else, I'm up for it!

BishopxRook ship who ever thought.]
Of course. But if you do find something, I'd be thankful, and compensate you for the cost.
[She raised a hand-paw to their surroundings.]
Might as well use it for something useful.

[Before leaving her alone, he bows before her in a true servant manner without thinking much about it; why should be thinking about something that comes so naturally to him, anyway.
As for Laced & Loaded, he gets there fairly quick, trying not to stop anywhere on his way to the boutique. One of the ladies working here is a great help, especially when it comes to picking a hat for Caren. Actually, after mentioning that "his acquaintance" would possibly like to get a bag, Gilbert's shown a certain bag which makes his skin crawl because of his personal reasons.
However, when he leaves the shop, both the hat and the bag are in one of the bags with the boutique's logo. The other one contain shirts, pants and a pair of leather shoes. He'll need to pick up more jobs in the nearest future, even though the hero discount helped a bit.
Two hours later, he's back where they have first met, looking around for Caren and wondering whether she's still wearing that ridiculous costume or is she done with the job for now.]
no subject
They were begging for more stories for some reason.
So they'll eventually find each other, where she had been before. But this time, she's in civilian clothing. Better then wearing her uniform, really.]
Ah, there you are.
[She comes towards him, tugging on her gloves. Her weapons, which are black and thus mismatch her entire clothing. Ah well. Her shawl doesn't match either.]
Have you been waiting for a time?
cute...
Not really, I've just arrived. And here.
[He stretches his arm, holding the bag with the stuff he bought for Caren, but he doesn't say anything, just looks away, blushing softly.]
no subject
Oh, look, he did get her the hat.]
My thanks.
[She reached for the bag, but noticed his blush. Huh...]
Is something wrong?
no subject
[In the meantime, he puts the remaining bags on the ground and pulls out a cigarette and a lighter. Not that he almost dropped both onto the ground because of his shaky hands, or something.]
I'm just not used to...shopping for those things, that's all. Shall we get going?
no subject
[Ooooh? Does he think her cute? Is he thinking of the kiss again? Heh. He almost dropped his lighter too. She flickers her index finger against her middle finger and her thumb, and makes a small spell.]
Exardesco.
[And there's a small flame hovering over her finger. Here you go Gil, light on up.]
But yes, we can. Did you find a place?
no subject
And he's certainly not thinking about the kiss. Not at all.]
T-Thank you.
[To think of it now, he could do that himself and without a lighter, too.]
The honey cake place? It's the one a few streets away, isn't it?
no subject
Spell accomplished, she ends it, letting her hand drop.]
You're welcome.
[But ah, right-]
Yes it is. Or so I assume; everything seems a few streets away.
[It's not a bad thing. Least this way you can't get lost for too long. You'll end up somewhere big by accidentally smacking into it.]
no subject
I passed it on my way here, but I have to admit that I haven't taken a closer look yet. Besides, aren't we going there...together...
[The pause before together is a bit too long and awkward. It's not even like he doesn't want to go, but...maybe he's simply giving it too much thought.]
no subject
So we are.
[Too smooth, she moves to touch him, briefly, before she starts to move on. It might have been a hand on hand, palm on wrist or a hand on arm. Nothing too lewd.
Especially when she's already moving to walk towards the place.]
I suppose another person would suggest this is a date.
[She hadn't thought about it. But hey, she'll tease him a bit.]
no subject
The brief contact makes Gilbert open his eyes wide, but he can't bring himself to comment. It might have been just an accident of some sorts.]
Wait, would they?!
[He hadn't thought about it as well, but now he's being flooded with various thoughts. Also, Gil realizes that it sounded plain rude, but he's at a loss and has absolutely no idea what to say.
This is what happens when someone's panicking a bit too much.]
no subject
Some would. But you wouldn't.
[Yeah, you wouldn't think that right Gil? Right. She glances back, not looking as amused as she feels.]
You wouldn't want to be my escort or be my servant to your lady. We're only going to enjoy food together.
[Stop her, she's awful.]
no subject
Did he insult her by the question? That's very likely, but it doesn't mean that Gilbert knows how to make it right again.]
Umm...uh...uhhh...
[As much as he'd like to speak up, only these distressed noises come out from his mouth.]
What...what about you, though? H-How do you see it?
no subject
She's enjoying his floundering a bit, so she brings her hands up to her chest and presses them there, looking up at him with big gold eyes...
Before she looks away, letting her hair hide her face. And her shoulders start to shake. (From laughter, but still. He doesn't know that.]
no subject
Is she...? Is she really...?]
Listen, I...uh...when I said that, I didn't mean...
[Of course he meant it.]
I had no idea it's that important to you.
[To make matters worse, he sounds quite serious, too.]
no subject
Don't be an idiot. I don't care, one way or the other. I'm not datable.
[She's still snickering as she pulls away. Ah, this boy.]
Come along, I need to eat.
no subject
[The meaning of those words remains a mystery for a little while longer, even though he usually says the same thing. Now, at least, he can let out a relieved sigh.]
But a moment ago, weren't you...on the verge of tears?
[He should have remained silent about this, probably.]
I'm coming, I'm coming...
no subject
That was laughter, foolish servant.
[And his fault for thinking that it was something else. Really. She's not all about deception or anything or a terrible human being or something. She'll glance over her shoulder, but she's still moving. He's got long legs, he'll catch up.
After all, his legs are longer.]
no subject
[It's not the first time he feels like an idiot, but still. He has no problem catching up, but he keeps his distance so she wouldn't see his flustered face (Caren should be able to see it anyway, though). Maybe if he had his hat, he could at least hide himself behind it.
All in all...he's a bit relieved.]
I thought...
no subject
Really, he's easy to tease.]
You thought that I romantic feelings for you? A crush? After all, you are attractive. Any girl would want to make you smile, even laugh.
[She offers him a smile, honey sweet (meaning there was only trouble to follow).]
And I did enjoy the taste of your lips. It might even be better after some honey cake.
no subject
[He had no intention to make his voice so squeaky, but it's too late to change that. And while Gilbert may be an idiot, he's quick to realize that this smile is no good.]
Maybe I'll just have tea instead...
no subject
[She amended. She's still laughing because that squeaking is hilarious.]
Unless...you want me to serve you bites from my honey cake instead?
You could just open your mouth and I could give you bite after bite.
[Really Gilbert don't give her ammo.]
no subject
Alright, tea and honey cake...but I'm going to eat by myself.
[He's old enough to eat by himself!! Even though that's not the point here...]
A-And so are you.
[It would've sounded much better if he didn't stutter, but oh well.]
no subject
Not even a little bite?
[Caren please. Gilbert please. You're all embarrassing.]
