[Open] It's getting hot in here

Who: Caren and anyone visiting the hot springs!
When: Post dungeon, could be right after fail/success, could be days after
Where: Hot Springs of course
What: There's a hot springs, so now there's a hot springs episode.
Rating: Could be a p-13 and beyond because some people are only wearing towels in this place.

[Win or fail, everyone needed a reason and a way to relax. With the fall of the towers, there was all sorts of good things to come from it. Some would say it was the birds; and others would say it was the hot springs.

The large, large pools of heated water. Sure, they could be used as a way to get all steamed up (or even steam punk) but after all that hard work, everyone deserves a break!

Bring your swimsuits, your towels, your drinks and snacks-who knows, you should be able to find them in the bazaars, or even on Airy. It's time to soak in the heat!]

I dare say you are the owner.

[She says it calmly enough. And knowing that Saber could easily make friends in this place, there is one thing that springs to mind: that Gilgamesh would have been, in his own way, offended at the lack.

Also, it's just funny to get him into trouble, warranted or not.]

But I would not be surprised if someone decided you were best off with the gift. Perhaps the king of heroes wanted to see you with a blade in your hands so he could dash it out of them, properly.

[She pauses. And lightly, she continues,]

He hasn't been meddling with your battles, has he?

[ ... Gross.

GROSS.

Just the mention of Gilgamesh unravels repressed spite, really. She doesn't mean it, but it's a kneejerk reaction--it's been embedded into her being now to react in such a way to the man's gifts and proposals. It's unfair, so she tries... to look less like a grudgewanker. ]

While I have my suspicions, it would bring me utmost relief if it wasn't him. [ Gratitude to Gilgamesh, two double Gs that should never be put into one sentence. For now, she'll only take it as Caren giving her a theory instead of the truth. Saber is good at denying the truth, after all. ]

I wouldn't say meddling, but his tactics can use work. [ Tact, in general. ] His performance in the dungeon was...

[ How does she say it? Sometimes he's okay, then other times his face is planted into rubble. ]

Dissonant?

[Don't mind her Saber. She's just...enjoying that reaction. A lot. Clearly Gilgamesh has yet to swoon the woman to her side and...really? Can't blame her. Whether she still has the memories of the fourth or fifth war-Gilgamesh is...himself.

A tyrant. He rules because he is; Saber conducts herself as a sacrifice for the people. They'd never truly get along because of it.

So she has to add more fuel to the fire.]

He does have a business. And I'm certain that he would love nothing more to have you in his debt.

[Caren has to tilt her head. Dissonant? That doesn't sound like him. But then again, what little she had heard reported and seen for herself was based on another world.]

Could you clarify, please? I'm afraid I don't understand.

[ The thought of being in debt to him makes her mood even more sour than before, but she speaks no more of it.

She's more annoyed with his mannerisms outside of battle, actually. Still, she recollects her memories... Making sure to only tell the ones where it doesn't paint her as an unfortunate victim. She won't accept pity of any kind. Scratching her cheek, she remembers one thing. ]

He's not exactly elegant at time. [ Here we go. ] He practically slammed his face into the tower.

[Oh, here we go. Mental popcorn ready. This is going to be goooood.

Caren straightens up a little, and her expression shifts to that of soft surprise. As if Gilgamesh could not possibly, never ever be any kind of....doof.]

He nearly slammed his face into the tower? And here I thought Servants were supposed to be....[A delicate pause.] Graceful.

We are skilled, yes. [ She pauses, a bit disoriented in even bundling her with him, but they are both Servants... So...

Okay, she moves on. ]

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. No one is perfect. [ Damn, this is technically the biggest burn, really. She doesn't know that though. ]

[Welp, there is that. Caren stifled a snort; that might want to leave Saber scrubbing herself in the bath for a while.

...really you're making it hard for her not to laugh.]

That is true. Not even the King of Heroes. But is his...clumsiness the only issue?

... Did I say something humorous? [ Caren, she can see that you want to laugh?! Just because the snort is hidden, doesn't mean it is hidden well. Suddenly she's self-aware of her own words.

... No, she still doesn't see what she said wrong. It's only the truth, so she'll continue even though she hopes Caren to enlighten her. She eyes her, still not sure how much to disclose. While the King of Heroes is also King Loudmouth, she doesn't feel it's her place to talk about him personal stuff.

Talking shit is okay though, but still, she's curious. ]

Do you know him personally, Caren?

Knowing your revulsion to the man, it makes it...interesting, when you group yourself together with him.

[No, she did not hide it well, at all. But she smiles just so sweetly back at Saber. This is not going to go very well.]

I do. I knew him, as I did Lancer. I knew of Archer perhaps more than he is aware; I knew of Assassin and Caster, and Rider too.

It was part of my business to be aware of the situation, and some things cropped up.

[She leans forward suddenly.]

For example-I know that you, by all rights, look particularly fetching in a bikini-but you have never learned to swim.

[ Her eyebrows twitch into place of a scowl. She was following along ever so contently, interested in the universe she came from that is so similar to hers yet so different. When Caren leans forward and says that last part, her world shatters to pieces.

Her eyes are wide as if Caren threw cold water on her. ]

I am familiar with swimming now. [ kind

of.......... ]

Your blessings allowed you to walk on water as if it were earth, did it not?

[She asks this softly, quietly. She's still smiling. Caren, why do you have to ruin everything. Her voice drops, softer still.]

Was it Shirou who showed you?

Yes. [ She misses it dearly. ]

And, no, it was not. [ Though she guesses it would have been nice if he did. Then again, as Caren said, she walked on water at the time.

It was not necessary. ]

A couple of people came to my aid... When I first arrived.

I see.

[She watches her for a few moments. And very quietly:]

He taught you himself when he took you to the local pool.

[And she draws back, her expression blank. It's good to be her. No need to feel like she has to be nice or anything! It's great.]

[ STOP, MENACING KOTOMINE SPAWN...! She thinks about it, imagines it--her, Shirou, and Rin at the pool.

But why does Caren know? Even dropping this all onto her. Of course, she can tell the woman is enjoying her temporary despair. ]

Were you also there, Caren?

I would not be invited to such events.

[She blinks, slowly. Lazily. Much like a hunting cat, watching its prey twitch and writhe. She's drinking it in all right. She can behave, but only when she wants.

If nothing else, she's a Kotomine through and through.]

Especially to a date.

[ ?! ]

A... date? [ She knows what it is, but she asks as if she doesn't. You gotta be kidding, Caren. Don't play her like that, you're a funny lass. ]

[She's completely serious. She's going to close her eyes now. Isn't this relaxing Saber? It's really relaxing.]

Help yourself to more of the snacks, will you? I'd hate for them to go to waste.

[They wouldn't, but it's less to carry back to the dorm.]

[ You know what? She's going to drop it because she has never considered her master to be anything but her friend (in this route). It's such... a strange thing to imagine--unless it's a friend date.

Friend dates are okay and welcomed. ]

Did you not get along with them? [ As in like, Rin and Shirou.

She probably didn't, she can tell. Why did she even ask? Whatever, let's hear it. ]

You and she didn't know I exist. I was never considered anything but a front for information.

[She rolls her shoulders in a shrug. Very lazy atm.]

[ Hmm... She ponders on this all over again. While Caren isn't all good company, she finds the other woman tolerable to an extent. ]

Then I hope this world gives you more opportunities to enjoy the company of others. [ It sounds like Caren had a tough time... Being a nun.

[Tolerable. Well, it's honest at least? And she's not always terrible. Just most of the time.

Caren shrugs, and eases up onto her feet.]

It's an odd experience, and one I am not used to, for certain.

I will take my leave for now, but...would you mind if I gave you something before I go?

[ She watches her rise up, not questioning her or what she's going to give her at all. Let's be real, Saber is expecting it to be more food because ever since Caren mentioned to grab more

she doubled the amount she took over time. ]

I do not mind. [ WAIT. Wait. There's something strange about this. ] May I ask what is it first?

[....yup, Saber was a hamster. Caren would not be surprised if one day she found Saber with fat lil cheeks from trying to conceal the amount of food she had taken, possibly stolen.

She drifts closer.]

Nothing unpleasant, I assure you, and nothing that would close you or others harm.

[She promises. Cross her little black heart.]

[ She does not steal food. It is merely offered to her on a platter most of the time...! Blinking several times, she has to make her decision. ]

Then you may. [ Her friends and the general populace are safe! ]

[Because it was a plate, there'd be nothing left...she considers, before nodding once.]

Good.

[She's close enough now. So she'll duck down and make to press her lips against Sabers.]
