[Open] It's getting hot in here

Who: Caren and anyone visiting the hot springs!
When: Post dungeon, could be right after fail/success, could be days after
Where: Hot Springs of course
What: There's a hot springs, so now there's a hot springs episode.
Rating: Could be a p-13 and beyond because some people are only wearing towels in this place.

[Win or fail, everyone needed a reason and a way to relax. With the fall of the towers, there was all sorts of good things to come from it. Some would say it was the birds; and others would say it was the hot springs.

The large, large pools of heated water. Sure, they could be used as a way to get all steamed up (or even steam punk) but after all that hard work, everyone deserves a break!

Bring your swimsuits, your towels, your drinks and snacks-who knows, you should be able to find them in the bazaars, or even on Airy. It's time to soak in the heat!]

Oh, hey. I'm Bolin.

[ He flashes her a friendly smile as he shifts position, so that he can sit more easily on the water's edge and ease one leg in. He's not about about to give up on these springs. ]

A book sounds like a pretty good idea, looks like you've got the vacation how to down pat. [ Certainly more graceful than Bolin's current endeavours. ] Are you relaxing after the dungeon too?

I got to go on a lot of vacations at home, I was better at it with all my stuff.

*She found the whole budgeting and self-control thing tedious and annoying. But she made it work, for the most part. She missed her cell phone.*

But yes, after exploring those ruins I needed to soak my feet. My boots don't pinch but I get sore with all my jumping around. Did you find the dungeon fun?

Well, "fun" is kind of a stretch...

[ Bolin's brows pinch together as he considers this, remembering the trial from the day previous, which was mostly a series of Not Being Chill, deadeyeing the various puzzles, and the screeches of angry bird monsters. ]

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't call it fun. Who'd you have on your team anyway?

[ Looking at Lola, she doesn't particularly look like a fighter, and Bolin wonders if maybe she specializes instead in magic or healing. ]

*Lola's clearly more muscle than fat, not ripped but lean athletics from years of cario-centric sports and activities. She's also a little nuts, because other than how terrifying dragons are, she rather enjoyed the dungeon adventuring.*

Um... Akito, Soma, and Jolyne. I need to get better at spellcasting, but studying is so boring...

Was it not fun cause you weren't with fun people? Most of my team was kinda scarier than the monsters.

[ None of those names sound familiar to Bolin, so he just nods along. ]

Nah, my team was pretty nice. I'm just saying it wasn't fun to climb up... and then have to do that dance. [ He rubs his head, remember the disaster of trying to coordinate with Kija. ] I can just think of things that are a lot more fun than fighting monsters that want to kill me, y'know?

Well, using the grappling hooks wasn't fun. But once we were up there they didn't stop me from jumping places.

*Lola really enjoys her boots now that she's better at them.*

But the ruins would have been better with less monsters. The views were beautiful otherwise. Plus we got to come here! And the view here isn't bad either.

*LOLA!*

It is really beautiful. [ He perks up at that, unable not to look on the positive side when she is.

Once again emboldened, he gives the water another try, slowly lowering his legs into the spring, completely unaware that her comment might've been suggestive. ]

I mean, I've never been to hot springs... but it's probably the floating islands that are the most surprising part.

*Lola turns and watches him, normally guys show off when comments like that get made. He... either didn't get what she was suggesting, or he was the shy type. Either way...*

I've never been to a natural hot spring. I went to a spa once, that had one. I preferred the steam room. Better for my skin.

Everything about this world is surprising, well, not hot springs. Or being given a uniform. Or war. But magic, potions, no social media!? All of that ranks with dragons and floating islands as things I never thought I'd see for real.

*She has been dragged to enough action films by friends that she has seen all of this, just not seen it.*

I wonder why this world is so okay with boys and girls being all naked together? Most people would not be cool with it.

[ Most of what she's saying are things that he can agree with, though he has no idea about social media or skincare. He's just a boy from the Four Nations equivalent of the 1920s that's enjoying a dip in the hot springs.

He latches onto the part that he does understand. ]

Yeah, it's pretty weird. The baths back in Caissa are especially surprising. I don't really get how no one's built a segregated one yet.

*Lola puts down her book and makes sure it is safe from being near the water, she hops down and gets back in the water again. Contented sigh.*

I guess most people are like me and don't really care? I mean, staying in the same room with guys is a little embarrassing.

*Seeing her exfoliate, with terrible bedhead, using whatever facial potions and tonics she can find in town.*

But I kinda like it, I get to see a lot of cute boys not wearing shirts.

[ Ah, she does think it's embarrassing, Bolin was starting to wonder if maybe he was just old-fashioned since Saber seemed to their arrangements in stride.

And Lola is considerably more interested in boys. It's probably the first time since arriving here that he's heard a girl say something so frank.

He raises an eyebrow at her. ]

Well, I guess that's silver lining. [ He doesn't mind pretty girls either. ] Aren't you used to that by now though? Because of the baths back in Caissa.

*Lola has no chill. Especially when it comes to boys.*

Sorta? I didn't think people would just wander around, like, naked. Even if I guess this is sorta the same as the baths in the capitol.

I just enjoy finding the right swimsuit too much to go naked every time.

Yeah, I didn't think people would be naked either. [ People just... really like being naked in this place. ] But apparently it's a custom in some places.

[ He cocks a grin when she mentions shopping for a swimsuit, glad that something simple like that would be fun for her. Bolin himself likes nice clothes, but he doesn't have the patience for shopping trips. ]

Apparently clothes are considered dirty, I don't get it most bacteria dies in hot water like this.

*Lola is a ditz, with a Cantina named after her, she knows a thing or two about how cooking works. Not how to cook, but she knows what it looks like to cook.*

Still, I could get used to all the naked people. Most people here are very good looking.

*She is looking right at you, Bolin, figure out she is hitting on you before she gets annoyed.*

[ Oh, she's talking about him. At least, that's the impression he gets from the way she's staring straight at him while speaking. And Bolin doesn't exactly lack confidence in his appearance, though he does get flustered when girls seem to like him (or his looks).

He takes on a considerably less smooth expression, smiling at her with all good intention. ]

It's really weird that everyone here is good looking, right? Maybe that's how they pick people.

*Lola giggles at the sudden lack of cool from Bolin. It's charming, but not exactly her speed. She liked confidence, but she could just enjoy this. Of course... what he said had her little mind spinning in a new direction.*

I guess... it would explain how I ended up here.

[ Somehow, that response doesn't catch Bolin by surprise. She's already proven to him that she's fairly confident, comfortable in her skin and looks. It's all good news to Bolin, it makes him happy to see others content. ]

I guess so. [ He offers back with a small smile, sinking further into the water and sighing contently. ] Were you a fighter or anything where you come from?

No...

*Lola's confidence seemed to falter at this line of talk. No longer drinking in the pretty or even making eye contact. Cause, she loud, not strong. Without the advantage of Mana here, there isn't much she can do.*

There's not a lot of fighting where I'm from. And if there is, it isn't for someone like me. It's for boys, and girls who can't get a boy to fight for them. And I guess lesbians.

*She's also not very politically correct.*

[ That sort of world doesn't make a lot of sense to Bolin, who's best friends with Asami - someone elegenat and beautiful, intelligent and upper class, and still incredibly deadly in a fight. But still, it's not so bad to imagine a world where people don't need to fight.

Even if it would be weird. ]

So I'm guessing girls don't do much of the fighting. [ He can sort of see the conventional idea she's trying to convey, where men are warriors and girls stay at home. ] I guess it must suck to have to start from scratch then...

*See this is how Lola feels about worlds with magic and constant war and conflict about everything and killer death dragon eyes. So everyone's weird is someone's normal.*

Well, nobody does a lot of fighting. There are gangs, but the police keep them from hassling good neighborhoods. And crime but they don't show up everywhere in the city. Only a handful of kids at my school got into fights.

So... this is all really new, having to kill people. Breaking the wings of dragons... it's only fun when I don't think about what I'm doing.

[ Her words are enough to get Bolin to sober up. He's so used to fighting that moving from one fight to another isn't a big deal for him; he can't really imagine what kind of shock Lola must be going through, having been taken from a place of peace to situations where she's faced with dead bodies.

Other than that it must really suck. ]

I don't blame you. [ Is the smartest thing that he can offer. Lola has more confidence to her than Sakura, but even Sakura has come from a time of war. ]

I mean, even people used to fighting probably try not to think about it too much.

[ Bolin, as much as he doesn't enjoy killing dragons, can still do it. But if he's ever in a position where he needs to kill a human, he's not sure how he'll cope with it. ]

*Shock happens, but at the same time Lola is very adaptive if she has someone telling her to do things. She is very easy to maneuver that way. Plus it helped the last time she killed people they fell in the ocean so she didn't have to deal with that many bodies. And the ones that were there weren't her's to deal with.*

What's it like... in places which are like this?

Always scary and full of violence?

*Not that she wanted an answer, but it seemed like the right thing to ask to better get an idea of what else she can do but pretend it isn't real.*

Uh.

[ Lola sounds fairly uncertain and worried, and it makes Bolin frown to see that kind of smallness in a girl that had been at such ease before. He's not sure whether it's better or worse that she's had a peaceful life until now. On one hand, it gave her respite from the struggles or war, but on the other it couldn't prepare her for this.

He rubs the back of his neck, honest when he replies. ]

Honestly, it's not that scary. Because you're always in one fight or the other... you just get used to it. [ Which means that Bolin isn't scared to be part of this war, even though he should be, stripped of his powers. ] I mean, your entire life you train by fighting all the time, so you're a lot more equipped to deal with the constant violence.

Oh. So... with enough time it'll stop being scary?

*Which didn't seem that bad to her. Not being scared eventually. Okay the constant fighting to survive bit didn't seem like a good use of her time. But she didn't have any ability to keep up with the Kardashians here, so she had free time.*

But... if you fight all the time, when do you have time for fun? Like pizza, and kissing? Not in that order.
