[ Based on what little she's read and understood about spells, Alice doesn't really necessarily need incantations. A vague explanation provided when she was presented with when she got the comb:
"If you think of it hard enough, it will project."
Someone knew Alice was a very visual person, she would would say that much. ]
The way I was told to use it was to think of something potent enough and I could use it.
