Oh but don't bowl me over [open to all!]
Who: Caren and everyone taking this job!
When: 05/05 - 05/31
Where: Halls of Glory
What: Small description or summary
Rating: Ranging from G, to PG-13, to R. After all, we're not safe for work.
A: General cleaning
To those who knew Caren...it might have been a bit of a surprise. That she was so good at this. Most of the time, she seemed to laze about, not asking for much, reading and seeing about her needs, and not anyone elses.
But here, she was very earnest. Almost too much so. She had scrubbed the courtyard until her hands were raw, and now...was bare foot, and stringing up the clotheslines. Anyone coming up while she's in the midst of this gets a warning.
"I hope your shoes are clean, or you're bare foot. Otherwise, I'll have to punish you for marring up this part of the courtyard." She didn't even look at the person as she said it. She was standing on a stool, barefoot, as she put up the linens. How did she see that person? Magic?
Maybe.
B: Bulletin Board
This part of the job was almost impossible. Really. The notes were tawdry, perhaps more so due to Heaven's feel, and the fact of the matter was, it was...rather something. She kept pausing in the midst of her tearing things down, and staring at some of them.
And sometimes, she even commented.
"No woman would want such a thing. It'd hurt her back." "If it's so big, how could he even fight?" "...ah, I wasn't aware of this pairing."
And so on.
C: Armory
Some of these things made no sense for uniforms. Some of it was all sorts of sizes, for one, but she could understand...at least some of them. After all, her room mates were a great example of various diverse sizes. It was all about getting everything in the right order though. She ended up having to play the game of match the sizes, and making it into a fairly neat pile. Although...some of them, she wasn't quite so certain as to what to do with them.
With a frown, she ended up holding a uniform top. Or, in this case, not much of a top; it looked as if it was designed to show the underboob of a woman. Was there...oh. She plucked it out, and frowned, finding a man's shirt, designed the same way.
...who in the world would or could wear a shirt like that.
D: Roof
"....heh."
Caren stood on the roof, seeing all too many crows. Instead of dressed to clean, however, she was wearing what could only be refeered to as her battle attire. And there was already some monday leftovers on her leg, and some on her back. She tried to be nice about it. This was a job better someone with charm, maybe even natural charm. Instead, things were about to come to a head.
She unfurled her shawl around her.
"It seems you're ready to become target practice." If she wasn't stopped, she would start using her weapon to whack crows too and fro off the roof. Or you can help her, or watch or...even get hit by cloth or a crow. Doesn't matter to her, really.
E: Where the Glory is
She wasn't sure how there was so much art. Really, she didn't think it did anyone any good. Just a lot of gaudy pieces, some of them that were quite untrue. She had been set to taste at polishing some of the pieces. But some of them...
She took a moment to look under a leaf or two, and made a noise.
"You wish." She muttered, before going back to work.
F: Shopping list
This was not how she wanted to spend her afternoon. She had things that she wanted to do, mostly in the way of sparring. And now...there was this.
With a glower, she came up to the next person who she came across, and shoved the list their way.
"Take this. I've no idea what half of these things are, and I do not wish to go shopping. It's easy colle. Enjoy."
G: Wild card!
If you don't see anything here that works for you, feel free to come up with something else!

I think I heard 'punish me mistress, I deserve it'.
[What was with boys calling her hag...was it the white hair?]
no subject
...Aand this is exactly why you need to lighten up.
[ JEEZ. ]
no subject
And her hand draws back and....WHACKS THE BOOTY.]
No, I think my attitude is just fine.
no subject
[ Wow, with the sound that made, it wouldn't be surprised if his butt is red after this...! ]
Yeah, yeah, keep thinking that to yourself...
no subject
Such cheek. Another person might think you like being punished.
no subject
[ THEN WHY ARE YOU TOLERATING HER. ]
no subject
[She returns calmly.]
If I were, you wouldn't have a social life. Oh wait. You don't, do you?
no subject
[ HE'S NOT BEATING HER UP, BUT DAMN IS HIS TEMPER QUICKLY RISING. ]
no subject
You're just too easy sometimes Shinn.]
no subject
Though, her laughter, it's... strange. Even if she's a she-demon that bosses him around. He can't help but feel a slight chuckle escaping his lips. ]
Honestly, you're just too much for me to handle.
no subject
[She tells him, even as she raises her head. She needs to pause and wring out this sheet because whoo boy is it wet.]
And if I were not, I would be dishonest with everyone and my surroundings.
no subject
Ah, so most of the things you say aren't lies.
[ that's... not really reassuring but hey at least he can deal with honest people more than liars tbh.
nah he can't deal with either. ]
no subject
Not most. What I usually say is a truth, but it is not always the truth that you know it.
[She offers him a smile. It's not a big secret.]
Or the whole truth. You would be surprised at how many people are willing to trust on a word, just because it suits them.
no subject
[ That sort of dug a painful recent memory to Shinn, considering he's one of those idiots that trusted someone harmful for the exact same reason.
But unfortunately he kept his emotions in check enough for him to not show it outwardly. ]
Well, those kind of idiots kind of deserve it [ deserve to... what? ], to be honest.
no subject
[It's a surprising objection. But she goes on:]
Human relationships are frail, and their interactions are based on an understanding that what is offered is open and honest. Tentative, and a bond to be build over time.
The reason that betrayal causes such suffering is in part due to that. Without that understanding, humans cannot make something truly great.
no subject
[ Understanding... huh. Something he really lacks, considering his blind disregard to other's reasoning during the war. But it's at least something he's working on right now. ]
I just hope that at one point, people are going to find how dumb this war is, and just try to get peace back. But... that's going to take a while.
no subject
A person is clever enough to understand this. People are not.
no subject
[ it appears despite how grim and jaded Shinn is, there's still some hope, slight as it was. ]
Even so, I really want to believe that the concept of humanity still exists in everyone.
no subject
[It's cute. He's hopeful.]
The concept exists, Shinn. It's more of a matter of if it's paid any attention to.
no subject
[ He hangs up another uniform, after wringing out enough water from it. It's clear that this topic is something Shinn doesn't actually like talking about with people.
But, he has to be hopeful. He's no Kira, but... at the very least, if he could at least uphold that man's words here.
It'd be all worth it. ]
no subject
No matter how painful it is.
Another sheet is spun, twisted, and wrung, before untwisted and brought to dry. She's no Kira either. She has no light in her. Nor is she a murderer-not yet, not directly.
They're something all right.]
no subject
But holy shit there's certainly a lot of these sheets... ]
no subject
Either way.]
You may go and take a break. I can handle the rest.
[She did push him, and pushed him a lot. But...she could do this work. Even if she enjoyed the awkwardness and making him squirm.
This was just another way to do it.]
