[ For the most part, Lord Light had been drawn into the vicinity by the sheer number of things happening. This is a new world, after all - full of new things to see, new experiences to be had, new mortals to meet. He could hardly justify holing himself up in the Hall of Glory when there are better things to do.

He moves amongst the crowd as if swept up by it, visiting stalls at random and observing how the locals conducted themselves. Once or twice he is offered food, which he declines politely by citing health reasons. While some of the natives regard him with curiosity, most did not approach him and generally failed to register his presence due to how quiet he kept himself.

When the fireworks show was being prepared, most of the festival-goes start to find seats. He considers briefly whether to continue standing at his previous place, for he did not feel any fatigue - but as with before, this is a new experience, and one might as well go for the full package.

He looks up when Shinya speaks, acknowledging the other with a nod. ]

It is not. Go ahead.

I'm lucky to have made a friend with such a prime viewing spot. Although, to be perfectly honest, I'm not really sure what type of show this is supposed to be. Do you know?

[ He takes a seat, leaving just enough space so that someone else could join them if they wished. It seemed selfish to try and take up an entire bench when it seemed like prime viewing real estate was limited right now. ]

It appears to be fireworks. I heard this from some of the performers.

[ He doesn't quite comment on Shinya's first sentence, but responds to it with a tilt of his head. ]

I am interested in how they execute the process.

[ They were used mainly by the Jade Kingdom, back on Orbis Eden. Krythe saw them used sparingly during the more important of occasions. ]

Fireworks, eh? It's been years since I've had the chance to see any spectacle like that. Do they have this sort of thing where you're from?

[ Just as the show's about to start, a little girl, the same one he remembers from the task of building a snowman for local orphans, comes up to them. Shinya smiles, patting her head lightly and scooting closer to Lord Light, so she has a bit more room to sit next to them on the bench. He pats the empty spot now. ]

Hello, hello. You can watch with us, if you want.

[ He looks back to LL, eyes lighting up as the sounds raise in excitement. ]

Ah, it's starting!

Yes, it is present. But only for special occasions, such as this one.

[ Lord Light gives the child a smile when she arrives - it's a slight one, because he's used to not giving too much emotion. ]

Let us observe, then.

[ He turns his gaze towards the night sky. ]

We'll just have to see if this kind of show measures up to what you're used to. [ Somehow, given that LL's told him he's ... "an exiled guardian"? He has an inkling that the other man has seen his fair share of beautiful things.

As for himself, he really can't remember the last time he's seen fireworks. There isn't much to celebrate in the Japan he knows.

He reaches down to ruffle the child's hair affectionately as the lions begin their intricate dance anew. Before he knows it, the first burst of red and orange lights up the night sky, a brilliant spectacle. ]

Ah, it's starting! [ He sounds... pretty excited for a grown man. ]

[ Shinya's excitement is noted, which causes the former deity's smile to hold for a few more seconds. The show starts, however, and he returns to a more neutral expression in preparation of it.

The music, the lion's dances, and the colours in the night sky all blend together into an intricate tapestry of colour in his perception. Out of the corner of his eye he can see the lions changing form, and idly he wonders what form of technology would have enabled this.

Perhaps out of instinct or nostalgia, he begins to hum something - a pentatonic melody, made up as he goes along, paced to the rhythm of the flowers blooming above. ]

[ It really is impressive. It's almost enough to make him completely put aside his worries of being here, of the uncertainty of what's happening to his comrades back home, and this is a dangerous realization. It's exactly what they want, isn't it?

He feels guilty, but this is nice. He's never seen such a spectacle before, and it's been years since he's been surrounded by so much positive energy. There isn't much to celebrate in the world he knows. He turns to LL when he hears the gentle hum of a song, smiling at the realization that he's enjoying himself. The man's a little more difficult to read than most, since he's so composed, but he seems at ease, here.

The little girl seems curious, too, inching her way onto Shinya's lap so she can be closer. ]

[ It is above all a scene of peace, a scene of serenity - something that was rare as well back on Orbis Eden. Its last days had been spent in the aftermath of war, after all, a disc crumbling slowly in space while a wind of desolation blew over its fragments. No bombs, no tornadoes, nothing flashy. The world did not end with a bang, it merely faded with a sigh as its people looked up upon their last sunrise and poison drained the life out of the land.

This is the complete opposite, and he appreciates it. This is a second chance, and he fully intends to put it to good use.

His eyes will not be drawn away from the pyrokinetics, so if Shinya wishes to ask him something he will have to raise his voice. ]
