These seem to be logs for large-scale battles. They don't account for small skirmishes or hit-and-run attacks from either side. That was how most of the Fereldan rebellion was fought, at any rate. While a different war, I suppose it's not completely unreasonable to assume similar tactics were probably used.

Furthermore, they don't account for politics. While we hardly know anything about this Noir, It'd be a blemish on a proud empire to repeatedly lose, no matter how slimly, to these upstarts. Morale plummets. They'd probably lose support or funding for the war effort.

It is. Who knows what sort of new strategies Noir may have developed over the centuries... [Loghain sighs. He doesn't care much for it either, truth be told, but war is a strange, unfortunate comfort zone. In a strange land, it's nice to have something he can delve into headfirst and be familiar with.]
