When you teach a sword about Christmas...

Who: The Sword House and Friends! (Basically if you know any of the swords or Gilbert then you were invited)
When: A little before Christmas~
Where: The Sword House! (Jirou's place of residence)
What: Jirou learned about Christmas and now he wants to share that information with everyone! So all friends of the swords and Gilbert are invited!
Rating: PG (BE GOOD EVERYONE THERE ARE CHILDREN. No not really. The swords are all older than you.)

After finding out about this Christmas thing Jiroutachi had made sure that he got straight to work on a party for it. His main motivation being that Christmas involved alcohol. This surprised no one but what was surprising was that he'd bothered to help the other with decorations and such to make the house look festive. So now there were decorations everywhere with warm food for guests and a variety of drinks as well.

For those willing to go outside, there was a lovely fire setup to allow people to enjoy the lovely gardens while still staying warm. Jirou had even made sure that there was warmed wine for people to drink! (Or hot chocolate. Though that had likely not been his idea.)

So now all friends were invited to come and celebrate with them! To join the wonder of this Christmas thing!

Naki was...not exactly mingling, at this party. Which was probably to be expected, though at least he seemed(???) happy enough, watching people from his position in the wallflower corner. All the warmth and company and decorations! It was honestly almost distracting. He looked up when Jirou spoke though, accepting the sake cup.

A short pause.

"Thank you."

(He's working on it.)

What a good little fox sword. He chuckled a bit then went to go wrap an arm around him. Which meant that the little sword got to be wrapped up by pretty kimono sleeves. But that wasn't anything too unusual. This was Jiroutachi and he just tended to be all over the place in general.

"Naki-chan, are you having fun? You're here by yourself! You should come spend some time with Jirou-san."

Ooh snowflake sleeves. He looked down at the new pattern for a moment before focusing back on the man wearing them. He was having fun! Even if he was by himself! But, Naki being Naki, all he said was "Doing what?"

Were they gonna spend time drinking...should he try a sip of this sake....should he go on a search for inari sushi! Questions.

"A game! Though I'm not sure what game yet. Maybe we should see what there is."

He really should pay more attention to these things. Really he'd been so interested in the alcohol he'd just let everything else slip by him. Whoops! Not that anyone was surprised by this given Jiroutachi's very nature but was that really the point? No, no it wasn't.

"How does that sound?"

The suggestion got a nod from Naki, followed by a tentative sip of his drink as he scanned the area for something that looked game-like. Hm, hm...

....Around this point his fox probably would have suggested a direction for them to look, or at the very least voiced out loud that nod...maybe eventually he'd get his carrier to start talking for him. Instead, another sip!

"Oh! That's a very good direction to look! And there's food and drink over there! Did you help Gi-chan make any of the food?"

Because if that was the case he wanted to make sure that he tried some of it. Or several of it. Really Jirou was likely to just keep on eating since snacks were always great to have when one was drunk. Which he always was.

"I helped with cookies." Delicious sword cookies! And maybe a few awkwardly fox-shaped ones, because he's predictable. He looked up at Jirou again as he said this, pointing at a plate of said cookies over by the snacks. Were cookies a good side dish for drinking? They tasted good, at least.

"...Do you want one?"

Were they going to play a game? Apparently not anymore! Jirou was now distracted by cookies! He immediately went to go get one for himself, actually reaching for the fox shaped ones first. One for him and one for the smaller sword. "Waaaah! It's a foxy-chan!"

He looked so thrilled by that before he bit down and then wiggled about happily. "So good, Naki-chan!"

Distractions ahoy! Tasty ones too, he'd tasted a few earlier. Naki accepted the fox cookie, bringing it up to his lips, though rather than eating it the smaller sword seemed - for the moment - to be more interested in Jirou's reaction to his own cookie. He liked the fox shape! He looked so happy! To be honest, Gilbert had done all the actual cooking; Naki had only made shapes...still, there was something nice about seeing someone enjoy something you'd kindasorta partly made yourself.

"I'm glad...you like it." as he finally (carefully) nibbled his fox.

"Naki-chan helped make it so of course I do!"

Really he was not the oldest of the swords here at all. Honestly he only looked older than the smaller swords because he was bigger than them. All the same this didn't stop him from wanting to take care of them and see that they were happy. His little Naki wasn't the most vocal but he could still communicate that something made him happy. In this case, compliments about his hard work!

"What else did you help make?"

Nakigitsune was probably the oldest of the swords here right now, honestly...still, he was kind of enjoying being treated like this. Hugs and compliments and snacks! The tantou treatment. He didn't look up from his cookie this time, taking another tiny bite before answering Jirou's question.

"Inari sushi."

Of course.

[sakeplz]

Oh. Oh no. That was so...so cute.

Bursting out with some giggles, he wrapped his arms around Nakigitsune and pulled him close for a tight hug. Really how could this sword be this adorable? Just what was he going to do with him? "I want to try some of your inari sushi!"

[foxhands]

Ah. Squished in the oodachi's strong-armed hug, Naki stared up at him for a moment, not quite understanding what had prompted the reaction. Had he said something funny? Could he reach his cookie from this position? That was a yes he just heard, right?

This really was nice, though. Good food, cozy hugs, friends, family, warmth...it was a very content Nakigitsune relaxing in his arms at this moment.

He nodded. "I hope you like it."

Obviously he had to let go to go grab some. It was sad but it was just out of his reach even with how big he was. Maybe if he had Taroutachi's arms instead... Alas, he did not so he would have to work with what he had instead.

"Do you want one too, Naki-chan?" You know, while he was grabbing some.

Even without Taroutachi's arms, Jirou's arms were probably a good deal longer than Naki's...he still had a bite of his cookie left, but he nodded at the offer anyway, hurrying to finish off what was left of the morsel. His favorite food! How could he say no!

Of course, hurrying on the cookie meant his mouth was now too full to answer properly, but Jirou probably got the idea anyway.

Jirou was so used to Naki not properly answering things that the fact that his mouth was full didn't bother him. Instead he just went about getting a little plate with some of the food on it then took his hand to bring him over somewhere they could sit together. There he smiled happily as he took one for himself and offered one to the smaller sword.

With a cheer, he popped it in his mouth to have that first bite. So simple but so good! "Mmmmmmmmm!"

Usually there was a fox to speak for him though! Without the fox he felt like he should say more...not that he knew what to say, half the time. Regardless, he accepted the tasty present (even remembering to say thank you), taking a big bite and savoring the taste of his favorite snack.

He couldn't find any wasabi when he was making these, or they would've accidentally been a lot harder to eat. As it was, the sushi in his hands disappeared pretty quickly. Delicious!

"Would you like another, Naki-chan?"

Already he was holding up one for him. And had a cup of sake in his other hand like magic. Really when had he managed to grab that in all of this? It was like sake was just attracted to him no matter what the circumstances.

"You worked so hard on them, after all!"

[foxhands]

Naki nodded, never one to turn down fox treats. A fox sword and a sake sword! Honestly he wouldn't put it past the larger sword to have magical sake-summoning powers or something.

...For a short second he wondered what it would be like to be able to summon inari sushi from thin air. But--nah, making it's half the fun, right? Yeah.

"Do you want to help?" A pause. "Next time."

"Really? I can help?"

That probably wouldn't be such a good idea. He'd likely make a mess in a drunken state. Then get too lazy to finish helping. He was probably best left to watching and being fed free samples instead.

Yep.

If only he'd thought that far...but no. Naki was in a good mood, and Jirou was being really nice, and what could possibly go wrong with a couple extra hands? It's not like inari sushi was all that difficult to make anyway.

So the answer was another nod, and a noise that probably meant yes.
