(open) Everyday's great at
Who: Lapis (
oneirism), Luna (
medicament) and YOU!
When: Sometime between 06/05 and 06/30
Where: Lasker
What: It's dress to impress time...expect not really?! Mascot's life is tough, but there's a way to make it easier...
Rating: PG?
[Since all the people who taken this job were told to walk around Lasker to invite people to the local park while wearing a costume of their choice, Lapis and Luna headed out from the gates and kept wandering around, encouraging the citizens to visit Dunyaland (also known as Everyone's Favorite Amusement Park™). Truth to be told...it wasn't the only thing they were planning to do.
Once they spot a fellow Hero, Lapis (wearing a black fox costume and holding a torch) and Luna (wearing a moon costume, some white clothes and covered in white powder) will sneak up on you and make an attempt to scare the Hero. Or maybe you will walk onto them while they're on their break?
Or maybe you're lost in a dark alley and need to find a way out? But are you sure you will be able to e̛̲͓s̞̣̣̬c̩ạ̷̻͔͙ͅp͙̻͟e͢?]

closed to Lapis
She steps in rather slowly, looking around the stuffy closet where they're supposed to keep the costumes.]
Excuse me, is anybody here?
[Where's the light switch? She can't find it.]
no subject
Which is why Lapis chose a black costume - makes it easier to blend into shadows and scare people. And she had just finished putting on her costume in the closet, when she hears a familiar voice. While she doesn't want to completely scare Luna, a liiiitttle scare can't hurt...
Luckily she brought a torch in here with her since the light in this closet died who knows how many years ago. So she takes a moment to shift around as quietly as possible to face Luna, waiting for her to step closer and - ]
... Afternoon, Luna. [Flicks on the torch to illuminate her masked face from underneath. Behold, true terror! ... Of a cute, plush black fox face, but it's close enough.]
no subject
Oh, Lapis...it's you. Hello.
[Smiling and blushing softly, she waves a greeting.]
Your mask is adorable! Are you going out by any chance?
[It would be really nice to go together
and scare some people, but if Lapis is done for today, she'll understand.]no subject
... Thank you, it looked like my carrier, so I couldn't resist. And yep, I just got changed. You going out now too?
[Lapis takes a moment to shine her torch along some of the costumes crammed alongside the walls of the cupboard, some cute and some... not so cute.]
no subject
It looks really good on you, too. I wonder if they have something that will suit—
[At the same moment, her eyes lay on the moon costume, which is...rather peculiar, especially since all other costumes are based on some creatures (well, maybe there is a creature looking like that, she doesn't know that), but there's no way she would wear something else.]
Yes, I just need to change. Could you please wait for me?
[Luna sure doesn't waste time, and removes her clothes on the spot to put on the costume. It's...weird, that goes without saying. Since there's a white powder attached, she covers her face and hands with it.]
Do Heroes often have to take up such jobs?
[The fact that it's one of the oddest jobs she has ever done is implied.]
no subject
And Luna's verdict on how she looks gets another smile from Lapis, and she keeps shining her torch around so that the other girl can see the selection. Though she stops the torch as her eyes settle on something, blinking in surprise at the... moon costume? Well, it would suit her, at least. Because Luna in a moon costume, ahahaha... ha.
So she nods and patiently waits as she gets changed, not even reacting to her removing her clothes then and there as she changes. It's... certainly a different costume, but hey, if it gets the job done then it should be fine.]
... Yep. Though usually it's... not as weird as this. Most of the time it's cleaning or doing errands for people.
[And as she speaks, she pops her fox head back on. Luckily she's able to speak loud enough to not be completely muffled.]
no subject
Well...some variety from time to time is fun too, I guess?
[Speaking of fun...she's standing in front of the door and she's not entirely sure if she can get past it without blocking the way.]
Oh...
[There's no use just standing here, so she tries to make it through, but...yep, she's stuck.]
no subject
... That's true. I just never expected wearing a fox costume was something I would do here.
[But ah... Now to figure out how to help Luna out the closet. Lapis shimmies back a bit to give her some more room, but nope. She's definitely stuck.
So she tries to help move Luna so that her side is facing the door, and then maybe she can edge her way out?]
Do you think you could get out if you ducked down a bit?
no subject
I should have put it on outside, shouldn't I?
[Her question ends with a sigh, but she tries to get past the door once again, bowing even deeper...one more step and she'll be free. But it's easier said than done.]
Could you give me a push?
no subject
... Probably. Or in a bigger closet.
[But no point in thinking that now, and instead she watches Luna, wondering if there's anything she could do to help. So at Luna's request, she gives a hum of agreement as she gets close enough to push.
One... Two... Three... And puuuuush!]
no subject
The push works wonders...however, if Luna could choose, she would definitely pick a happier end for herself. She sure ends up getting past the door finally, but not so long after she meets the floor with a loud thud.
She's fine for the most part, though!]
All this time, I thought that the moon can't fall down...
no subject
And then she giggles quietly when she hears Luna, waving her stubby arms and legs for a moment.]
... There's a first time for everything. [Pause.] Though I think I'm stuck now.
[This costume is too plushy and chubby to push herself or roll over, the fox requires assistance!]
no subject
This task is far more difficult that I assumed, really. Let me help you!
[It's high time to get back on her feet; Luna gets on her knees at first, trying to keep her head up at all times and stands up really slowly in order not to flop down again. She's a bit wobbly, but she's successful, in the end!
It's difficult to tell which part is harder, getting up or helping Lapis back up, but it doesn't change anything, really. Luna stands as close to the wall as possible and leans forward to offer Lapis a hand. With the wall behind her, there's no way she would tumble backwards, at least.]
no subject
... Save me from my fate, Luna.
[And she still managed to be completely deadpan about this too. But once Luna has gotten herself stable, Lapis reaches one paw out to Luna's hand. It takes some adjusting and hefting and strained noises from Lapis, but she's soon back on her feet.]
Thank you. Hopefully no kids decide to push me over today, or you might have to roll me around.
no subject
O-Of course, I will!
[It's a good thing that nobody really supervises them because it'll sure take them a while to get down to work if more accidents like this one are going to happen.
However...playing a game of real life katamari during work hours? Sounds fun.]Kids are playful, but I'm sure they won't be so rude.
[No one messes with a black fox and a moon, right...]
Anyway, what should we do to coax people into coming here? Should we put on a performance of some sort?
no subject
And really, knowing Lapis, she'll probably find a chance to deliberately let herself become a katamari. Because why not.]
... Well, at least it would be funny.
[So Luna should expect this to happen later. But that's a good question, and she tilts her head as she taps a paw to her chin.]
A performance would be the best bet. I can sing and dance pretty well, so I could do something like that.
no subject
I can...
[She didn't really think that over and deflates a bit.]
I can give out leaflets. I haven't danced ever before...and I just know one or two lullabies...
no subject
Though Lapis does notice how Luna deflates, thinking to herself for a moment over if there's anything else she could do...]
... You could dance with me. You would just have to follow my lead.
no subject
[Luna would love to, but she still has doubts. Would simply mimicking Lapis' movements be enough?]
Even though I don't really know how?
[Not to mention that it's difficult to move in this costume, but she'll do her best anyway. It'll surely be a memorable show!]
Were you a performer back home?
no subject
[Because if there's one thing Lapis is confident about, it's her dance skills. In her mind, it would be easy enough to show Luna how to dance.
But that question gets her to pause, just for a moment, before she shakes her head. Her tone sounds almost wistful for a second, but she's quick to force that away.]
No, nothing like that. My work was... more with the occult.
no subject
[That's rather surprising, mostly because Luna knows absolutely nothing about anything paranormal.]
What were you doing...? If I may ask, of course.
[She realizes that it may be some kind of a taboo a bit too late.]
no subject
... I'm kind of like a medium. My job involves dealing with dangerous and bothersome ghosts, so that they don't hurt people.
no subject
...I see.
[She nods slowly while processing the new piece of information.]
It must have been a tough job...I mean...maybe it still is?
[Giving Lapis an inquisitive look, Luna smiles shortly after, really glad that they have something in common.]
My mission is to protect people, so we're...a bit alike? [Ah, maybe she's said too much!] J-Just a bit!
no subject
At least Luna doesn't seem too weirded out by it, and her remark gets an almost sheepish nod.]
... It could get pretty tough. I got into fights with ghosts a lot.
[Though that bit of information about herself gets Lapis to perk up, letting her mask tilt a bit so that she can peek out from under it - giving Luna a soft smile.]
Yeah, it does sound like we're kinda alike. What was your job back home, then?
no subject
W-Well...
[Thinking about how to even begin, Luna smiles back, a little pensively.]
My mission is to protect humans, above all..I-I'm a nurse. Or maybe I should say that I used to be one...
