[ It's already running, and Subaki has to release William's hand for a moment so he can withdraw his lance and circle around to its front to try and stop it from escape. He pushes forth the handle of his lance into its stomach, knocking the elf back and sending journal pages flying all over. What they say is something he can't read while they're floating so he gestures to them with his chin- ]

William, quickly pick them up!

[ But they're already dissolving in mid-air before any of them can move. He wonders if they'll ever get a chance to see what's in that journal, but he refuses to give up, doing all he can to corner the elf in its spot before the elf suddenly leaps over him and starts running down the halls. ]

I refuse to let him escape. I will take him in my charge no matter what so we can interrogate him. Get moving quickly!

[ With his lance still withdrawn, he takes down the hall himself, bounding in pursuit of the elf, determined and relentless. ]
