CHRIST ALMIGHTY--ilu I approve

[ He's fighting—oh, is he ever—but... Allen's just not worried about defending himself. (There's a slight, very shounen difference. Gil was right to presume it's synonymous with stupid.) And if it's hard to tell if the boy in the middle of and practically buried by that swarm is indeed fighting back or not...

It might become more obvious when there's a spike suddenly in someone's mana in that mess. A roiling of something so pure and brilliant it billows off the castled Rook like cascading feathers, and does so so very darkly raging as well.

It does so—as Gil fights his way towards him as well—as he sends the soldiers that had rushed him scattering like bowling pins. The raw strength of a Rook who taps into what's essentially his own life force to burn as a candle so very brilliant at both ends it's as if he's about to wink out.

(And he is.)

Although if he heard Gil—and it's debatable he didn't—it doesn't seem to even register. He just breaths heavily for a moment, swaying for a moment like he's on the verge of passing out... and braces, fist clenching and eyes (white eyes flouresced with his own aura) on two men who have gotten back to their feet again and brought their weapons to bear on him.

Because if he's too far gone for the moment to notice Gil, he's also too far gone to notice how his own blood spatters and drips. A blade has cut his side deeply and his back looks like griffins have torn at it, the uniform hanging in tatters. ]
