[closed] but you gotta put in
Who: Rin, Vietnam, Archer, Masamune, and Niles
When: August, from past the 4th onward!
Where: Petrosian and various locations in Gammon!
What: Jobs, jobs, jobs. This log may be updated with threads/prompts for later jobs offered in August, too!
Rating: Nothing too terrible, some mentions of crimes, etc.!
Dye Hard (from August 5th on, Petrosian/closed to Archer)
[this trip was part test, part business, part... moneymaking. hey, no one said a girl couldn't stop by petrosian again so soon, if only to check up on the designs for a full-back mana tattoo. she's kept that pursuit a secret from archer, and rin now sits at a chair inside the rare river café they've boarded in anticipation of an attack by the bandits.]
It's too quiet. Aside from that, I don't really know what lures them out.
[speaking disinterestedly, she taps long fingernails on the table before her as she lowers her cup of tea.
at that moment, the boat rocks.]
Fighting Evil By Moonlight (from August 8th on, Gammon/closed to Vietnam)
[rin was shaken up after her little run-in with gilgamesh at the ball, but she doesn't display that same hesitation tonight.
she and vietnam are escorting a small group of saleswomen from the market to their homes. many of them appear not so much older than rin herself, and that's partially why they're with them in the first place; it's hard to convince several of the more skeptical (or burly!) gammonians that a pair of young women are going to cut down any bloodthirsty murderers in their path.
in fact, the would-be criminals must believe they blend in well enough, because some sneaky-looking fellow in a trenchcoat sidles up right next to vietnam, before long.]
Hey, hey! Stop for just a moment, eh?
Hate to be the Boarer of Bad News, But... (from August 23rd on, Gammon/closed to Masamune)
[okay, so rin isn't bothered by most of this. the flying pig is just a little weird, though. slightly. carefully bringing up a finger, she pokes it as the poor thing oinks in despair for about the fourth time.]
Hhhh— [whiny complaining:] This thing is so strange.
[proceeding to dig a hand into the mailbag, she thumbs through the letters and hands the one for the next house to her macho, masculine companion.]
Well, at least this job should be easy. [rin rolls her eyes. how compassionate.] What a bunch of losers. They couldn't even make it into their magecraft academy. They're disgraces.
Star Wands Episode I: The Phantom Mineace (from August 23rd on, Gammon/closed to Niles)
[friedgood, friedgood. what a wonderful place. rin is camped out on the ground, pouring over a map of the surrounding local mines. in a... skirt, but hopefully no passersby are being flashed as she figures out where the hell they're going.
who knows how she even got roped into this with niles, by the way.]
What do you think? Shouldn't we just buy the stuff from the shops, or something? If we mine, I might get too dirty. That'd be fine, but what if it's not worth the trouble?
[she's not wearing pants, so don't even ask]

... Archer. You still do care so much, don't you?
[that part is whispered, however. he won't be able to hear it. instead, she sets about putting on her show.]
Watch this!
[posing with her arms uplifted and snaked into a wavering shape, she recites a spell's incantation in distinct confidence:]
Schatten! Explodieren um mich herum!
[her own shadow grows at her feet, to swirl around her and form a bubble of translucent, dark energy that then bursts towards the bandits, pushing them farther away.
it's absolutely not what would be in a pawn's repertoire.]

Rin has also moved up a Rank, and their news friends, it appears, are not equipped to deal with two Ranked Heroes.
Yells and shouts from unfallen bandits grab his attention, along with a sudden motion towards "retreat". Shaking his head, Archer Archer draws another arrow and fires at a fleeing cluster of hooligans. The mana arrow shatters on impact releasing a sleeping agent into the air. Within moment, they too are down.
Archer scans the area one more time, then calls out: ]
Rin! There's a few of them trying to escape off the starboard side!
[ He can't "sight" them from here to fire. ]

[if he's up there, she'll cover down here. she doesn't really have time to drink in archer's praise ("praise" by his definition) and brag all about her new rank. rin runs in the indicted direction on the ship, quickly, advancing on the group of bandits attempting to jump down to their waiting mergoats in the rainy weather.
they stop, watching rin approach, and it's at this juncture—with a mutter of "she's alone"—that a few of them pull out their guns, aiming at her.]
I see how it is.
[the explosions happen without warning, and rin twists into a roll, narrowly avoiding the flying bullets.]
