It comes at the cost of protecting himself from harm, but the moment the Corrin moves, Laurent starts to speak. They aren't nonsense words, it's encouragement. They're a string of commands that he needs to mean, that he must pour the whole of his intentions into, and in doing so those words become a shackle- binding him to his target.
