The thief has, thankfully, also stopped her struggle to watch with bemused horror at Guren's unadulterated rage causing the demise of the poor fluffy animal. It's a pretty sorry sight, though Bolin knows the Carrier to be fairly resilient, and sure enough it plops peacefully into the water further down the canal before resurfacing, bobbing along in the water with buoyancy that it surely shouldn't have with all that wool.
Anyway. The elderly man is now howling about a great harvest (he thinks Bolin is going to let him eat his Carrier??), and the thief restarts her struggles, Bolin tightening his hold on her while also trying to crane his heck to see how Guren is doing. ]
