DUNGEON ♛ GISELA TOWERS

GISELA TOWERS
20 MAY (VALLARIA) 2016

High in the skies, the howling winds tangled around the Gisela Towers make it difficult to hear anything. The monolithic structures believed to exist only in legend or harpy memories loom over you. The thick ropes of ivy crawling up the length of each tower is the only sign of life. Every now and then, shadow seems to pass overhead. It might just be a trick of the light.

Instead of the usual suspects, another familiar face comes forward to greet our Heroes: the devil-may-care Lei, captain and commander supreme of the Airy.

Lei
Nervous that your commanders ain’t here? Don’t worry, you’re in good hands. So! Here we are at this… thing. Something something tragic romantic tale about a dragon and a phoenix. Anyway, it’s stupid and you don’t gotta know. Ask one of your commanders later or bribe me with a drink.

Now for something more important—

[ the winds roars loudly, muting lei’s voice. but heroes can watch his hand gestures and actions as he teaches them how to use the grappling hook: aim and shoot the gun. maybe twirl it with a fancy flourish first ]

—did you get that? All right, good! I don’t have enough hooks, so you’re gonna have to share. And take good care of them, I want them back! Now get in there and clear it ASAP! I ain’t got all day to fly you all back home!

Basic info on the dungeon can be found here. Dungeon mechanics can be found here. All OOC questions about the event may be directed to the thread below.

ONE
One does not simply walk into the Gisela Towers. The only way in is up the long and weathered staircase that wraps around the structure. However, the thing is riddled with missing steps, weak stones and slippery condensation from the cloud cover, so you’re going to need a little help. Should you attempt to climb the stairs, they will crumble beneath your feet at best and bury you beneath their rubble at worst.

This is where Lei’s newfangled(?) contraptions will come in handy! The pockmarks and small ledges created by weathering in the first tower’s structure could prove useful. There are, of course, a limited number of grappling hooks available, so you’ll have to partner up if you want your party to get anywhere. Parties of four are given two of these guns, while the poor souls with less party members get one.

Gisela’s gale-force winds will knock you around and make it seem like the towers are close to toppling over. However, as you make your way up you’ll see that the towers are actually far from abandoned.

MONSTER ♟ Ocypete
Weak against
Lightning
Strong against
Wind
Immune to
None
Regarded as abominations of the avian world, ocypetes are BIRDS the size of horses, which would be incredibly advantageous if they had wings.

The offspring of a human and a harpy, ocypetes have HUMAN ARMS that they use to scale surfaces and strong TALONS that can crush rock. They don’t fly, but they do RIDE THE WIND with the use of their long tail feathers, which possess magical wind properties and are nearly twice as long as they are tall. They would look almost elegant if they didn’t have a tendency to flap their arms while gliding.

Legend has it that when the phoenix left the towers, the ocypetes were accidentally left behind because dragons plucked their wing feathers, making them look kind of funny. Now with a few millennia’s worth of abandonment issues on their semi-feathered shoulders, they’ll seek to prevent Heroes from ascending the towers by any means necessary with an odd variation of Airy MARTIAL ARTS.

Their TAILFEATHERS may be acquired as loot.

What will Heroes encounter once they finally make it inside? More broken staircases, more monsters, even stronger winds blowing in from cracks in the walls and the foot of the tower (which is open to the air), and no floor whatsoever. Gisela’s Towers are hollow! The only footing to be found is on small ledges: some similar to those outside the tower, some that look more artificial; and intact sections of the stairs winding around the walls. You’ll need magic or some ingenuity to stay on your toes—literally! If you lose your grip or footing, it’s a several thousand foot drop back to Gresser. The quickest way down… and the deadliest.

TWO
The treacherous and exhausting climb brings you to a more sturdy area that looks a little less like a wrecking ball just passed through and more like some kind of hive. Blocking your way are dozens of sturdy-looking nests suspended like particularly ugly balls of twine from the walls. These are home to the insectoid Aellos. Tearing the nests apart for loot is only a good idea if you want angry swarms after you.

MONSTER ♟ Aello
Weak against
Fire, Lightning
Strong against
None
Immune to
Wind
Aellos resemble large eagles more than the DRAGONFLIES they’re supposed to be. Mature Aellos can fly, but the flightless and fuzzier larvae are just as formidable.

They can HYPNOTIZE with their dozen kaleidoscope-like eyes, rendering targets IMMOBILE but still aware of their surroundings. In order to free them, a fellow Hero must gaze deeply into their eyes for at least 15 seconds.

These monsters are also able to SPIT a gelatin-like substance that will stick Heroes to any and every surface and also each other. FIRE will reduce its stickiness. The larvae use hit-and-run tactics: they hunker down in their nests, peek over the edge and launch gobs of spit. The flying aello like to drop their SPIT BOMBS from above and occasionally also release a POWDER that ruins visibility and makes you sneeze.

Feeling adventurous? Why don’t you give the spit a lick? It’s actually totally EDIBLE, tastes like jello, and is filled with mana. Just be sure to heat it up so you don’t get your mouth stuck shut.

Their GELATIN SPIT and INSECT PARTS may be acquired as loot.

The staircases at this altitude are in better shape than the ones you have—or haven’t—been using. That doesn’t mean they’re any less dangerous. Not only do the Aellos chase you down here; traps are hidden in the steps as well. Some may act like quicksand, trapping an unwary Hero halfway into the stone. Others are enchanted with wind spells that can toss you up in the air, the long way back down to the ground, or blow your skirt upward. There might even be some that provoke the pesky bugs even more!

This floor has flowers and trees creeping their way in from the outside and covering every inch of the place, including treacherous weaknesses in the path. Behind these overgrown plants is a mural depicting a sensual dance between a dragon and a harpy. In order to advance, at least two Heroes will have to mimic the dance painted on the walls to open the door.

THREE
A barrier prevents you from progressing any further. Magic, physical attacks or sheer willpower will do nothing. To dissolve it, you must create a concoction from the random ingredients available on the table and splash it on the barrier. There is no set recipe, so trial and error and a little creativity will be your friends! Along with your trusty party Bishop, of course. (You did bring one, didn’t you?) Those not well-versed in alchemy may end up with potions that explode upon completion, splashing party members standing too close with a variety of strange side effects ranging from mild body horror to a bad case of halitosis. The unfortunate effects seem to differ from Hero to Hero, and they last for a few minutes to a couple of hours.

Once your party crosses the barrier, you will find yourselves outside. The skies are darkening, but you’re still able to discern another tower wrapped in the clouds. A bridge once connected the two structures, but most of it is missing. Use those grappling hooks!

Upon entering the second tower, a marble floor at odds with everything from the last tower will greet you. Lift your head and you’ll find that the rest of the tower is also hollow all the way up; those heights allow room for fountains and waterfalls. It’s a suitable area to replenish mana and rest. Parched throats can be quenched with the sparkling water all around you, but approach any waterfalls and they will start moving in a very unwaterlike way.

MONSTER ♟ Celaeno
Weak against
Lightning
Strong against
Fire, Earth
Immune to
Water
Possessed by pride and cursed by the phoenix’s wrath, these dragons are nothing like the ones you encountered before.

Celaeno resemble huge snakes made of water and possess ENCHANTED SCALES that float through their bodies and render them extremely RESISTANT to both magical and physical attacks. You will have to find WEAK POINTS in their protective aura. Hopefully you have a Knight or Bishop on your team to find those weaknesses as soon as possible! Each dragon’s weak points differ. Fortunately, all Celaenos go down easily once you find that soft spot.

They use their long, slender tails like WATER WHIPS to knock down or douse their targets; the force of a tail may equal that of a fire hose at full blast! The only time it sheds its armor is to shapeshift into a WATER PRISON that can trap one or more enemies. Try not to attack it while a Hero is trapped inside; it will hurt your friend as well! Use STATUS EFFECTS to confuse or distract them so the prison loses shape.

Their ENCHANTED SCALES, SMALL GEMS, and DRAGON WATER may be acquired as loot.

Without any stairs in sight, the way up lies in those dragons. After their defeat, their magical scales can be put together to form a boat that can ride the waterfalls upwards to the top floors.

FOUR
The skies continue to change once you reach the top. Black clouds begin to close in, stray bits of land that have broken off from the main island hover nearby, and a sudden torrent of powerful mana may disorient your party. A storm is approaching.

Just as the first chunk of hail falls from the sky, a mighty roar reverberates through the darkness. Something very large lands on the walls of the tower and causes a tremor that whittles chunks from the tower and actually rolls the clouds back; is that the toll of thunder, or just more roaring?

Finally, an impressive three-headed dragon emerges from below. Once it has perched itself on the tower, one head speaks in a rumbling growl.

BOSS ♟ Tianya the Thrice-Scorned
Weak against
Lightning
Strong against
None
Immune to
Wind, Fire
“Did that phoenix send you?! Tell her she cannot return! Not even over my dead body!”

Unsurprisingly, Tianya ─the dragon once wed to the phoenix─ is more than just a legend. He lowers his heads and another loud, guttural cry fills the skies. For now, he remains STATIONARY at the top of the tower. All three heads attempt to SWALLOW a Hero whole if they get too close. Should you go on the offensive, you may be able to chop off at least one head before he’s pissed off enough to move. The fallen head writhes in agony as it moans:

“It hurts… it burns…”

At this point, Tianya takes flight. The strong GUSTS from those wings can launch a Hero right off the tower. Use your grappling hook(s) to play floating island hopscotch: evade devastating dive attacks and run from the MANA BEAMS shot from his mouths.

“You’ll never understand! I never wanted her!”

As you travel from island to island trying to get close enough to deal some real damage, Tianya hides in the CLOUDS to launch ambush attacks. Eventually, a PHOENIX descends from the heavens in a burst of fiery light. However, it’s not the phoenix of legend; it’s actually one of Tianya’s spells, and it will burn away most of your mana if any of its flames make contact. MANA EXCHANGE may be the only way to continue this battle...

Once Tianya is down to one head, he will immediately rise higher into the sky.

“My last words are for her and her alone.”

After Tianya is defeated, the storm clears; Enprise’s twin suns shine once more. That precious DUNGEON CORE floats down, blanketed by a SINGLE LARGE FEATHER, golden and shining in the light.

“It’s warm… She was always warm…”

A SCORNED DRAGON HEART and a MYSTICAL PHOENIX FEATHER may be acquired as loot.

As soon as both core and feather touch the tower, an ominous rumbling and shaking begins. The Gisela Towers are falling apart and it’s now a race to escape before you’re buried under the rubble.

And don’t forget the grappling hook(s); Lei wants them back.

FIVE
All that’s left of the Gisela Towers is rubble. The dungeon has been conquered, the island reclaimed, and the ruins of the old regime can now become the foundations for something new: the site of the harpies’ homecoming after hundreds of years.

LOCATION ♟ Gisela

An ancient sky island that has existed since time immemorial. What enables Gisela to RIDE THE CLOUDS may be an even greater mystery than the mechanisms powering the Airy. The island appears most frequently above Gresser, though its extraordinary altitude makes it DIFFICULT TO LOCATE.

The landscape of Gisela is overgrown with JEWEL-GREEN FORESTS, crisscrossed with gorges and dotted with networks of small caverns. But its crowning glory is the THIN GLEAMING WATERFALLS that flow from its edges and into the sky beyond. The water is embraced by RAINBOWS and condenses into CLOUDS when Gisela is high enough, lending to its unusual weather patterns.

Although the island initially seems largely uninhabited apart from the Gisela Towers, there is a SEALED OFF AREA that, when viewed from the air, looks suspiciously like LUSH, TILLED FIELDS. Should you ask Lei about this, he will only give you an unusually stern warning against disturbing it. Looks like you’ve solved the mystery behind the pai tiles.

Now that the menacing Towers have been demolished, a variety of animal life — usually airborne — will begin to appear on the island. Some of them you’ve never seen before! The fall of the Towers also uncovered the existence of HOT SPRINGS below; newspapers speculate wildly about the source, but most agree that it must have something to do with the renewed vows between phoenix and dragon.

The few structures already in place on the island have been speedily converted into BAZAARS manned by Airy harpies. Most specialize in legal alchemical gimmicks, but there’s always another side to these things. Everyone’s here to soak in the breeze, and by that we do mean everyone.

In response to the tourism boom, NEW AEROPORTS have also opened in both Gisela and Gresser to provide reliable transportation between the two locations.

[Well, maybe they didn't really make up, but her hunch kept telling her that those two need much more time to reconcile. As long as they'd at least watch out for each other, they should be fine. Even for a while, Luna didn't believe that they wouldn't rush to each other's rescue if needed.

The moment she was officially approved as the one in charge of the grappling hook, Luna nodded and held it up, but didn't launch it just yet.]

Make sure to hold on tight, please.

[The line wasn't long enough to reach the very top of the tower in one go, but there were a few ledges they could use to rest in the meantime if they had to. Only when Luna was sure that both her teammates were holding onto her, she arched the launcher a little and pressed the button, watching the hook fly up high, all the way to the first ledge. She had figured out that pressing the other one would pull them up, so she did just that, wondering if it really would be able to climb all the way there fast.

However, they barely get off the ground.]

I suppose this will take a while...

I'm not holding anything, though?

[The innocent smile she had been wearing wouldn't disappear even for a moment as she dropped the cigar on the ground and immediately stomped onto it and twisted her foot a few times before making sure it was gone out completely.]

See? Nothing.

[Before walking away to examine their surroundings, Luna showed Peacock her hands, both opened and definitely not holding onto anything. Then, she turned to Maki and assured her that she'd be watching her every step. The last thing they needed was even more trouble...

Despite what she had said, Luna couldn't really focus on looking out for a switch with so many beautiful flowers around. Actually, she may or may not have been standing just in front of the mural, but couldn't really see it, distracted by the flora of this place.]

I doubt we can slow it down...

[So, here she is, holding (?) a slime in her hands and looking up at Peacock. Expressing her gratitude with an awkward smile, she quickly turns her gaze to Maki, offering the, well, nutritious snack as she's looking over her shoulder at the girl.]

A-Are you sure, miss Nishikino? Maybe a little bit...?

[The fact that she wants to believe mana exchange will suffice is painted all over her face. Not to mention that she presses her back against Maki's while saying that.]

Either that or a dragon...? I hope it will, I had no idea that those missions may be so difficult...

[ Oh, for heaven's sake.

The spark of fire draws her attention and Makoto has to tear her focus away from the horde of insects to stare - in horror, probably - at the flames engulfing Allen's footwear...that will probably spread upwards and set him on fire if left long enough. And to Gil's expectant expression.

......................................

Boys?!?!

(The goo, on the other hand, is probably softening and forming a nice little gooey coat around the boot. Maybe that'll sell for a pretty penny once they get out of here.) ]

--ugh!

[ She aims, she shoots water-- except that just when she's pulling the trigger, an aello swoops in to attack from the front (suicidal, she knows, but what do bugs know) -- and the water stream suddenly turns into a freezing cold ice stream.

Look, she told you to leave your shoes for a reason, Allen. At least it's missed his actual leg so he won't be getting frostbite any time soon?! ]

[This guy set a teammate on fire twice, tried to get out of performing the dance, fed you bug spit...the list may be even longer. Any excuses won't change that, but...]

The moment it...he tries to attack, I'll pull both of you away.

[This is going to be draining, but it may be the safest way. Well, maybe not the safest, but definitely the quickest to get away from Tianya's attack range.

Before speaking up again, Gil looks up. The three-headed dragon has been remaining fairly still for the time being, but this isn't going to last long.]

If things turn ugly, just don't attack him first. Let me do it.

[She pulls them up, stopping and holding steady once Rory takes the initiative to climb over the edge. She waits until Hux is offloaded too, and then pulls herself up and undoes the harness. She's winded, breathing slowly and heavily while she gathers herself from the climb. She stretches a little, and watches Rory. She follows his motion and looks up at the creature, then over at Hux to make sure he'd seen too. Sneaking would be their best bet at this point; they came a long way up and it's a long way down.]

Unfortunately not! We'll have to make do with whatever we have!

[ Over here? Maki is holding back pure laughter. It just comes out as a snort, but the derision is real. Good for Luna, finally telling Peacock off! (That's not really what happened...) Maki almost wishes she could do the same! For now she's just going to enjoy this win for the good guys here, and a loss for the obviously terrible robot girl who needs to desperately learn some manners.

As to the Princess comment, Peacock gets a smug and annoyed looking curt "hmph" then she turns away promptly to focus on Luna. She's the one who's actually trustworthy after all, so Maki's sticking right by her side!

Until she notices..
]

Hey there's something here! [ Her attention caught, she's quick to move to the wall, touching her hand on it, trying helpless to pull some of the overgrown plants to the side... but she'll need some help. Maybe someone in their party can deal with problems like this better than her.

Or maybe someone will just be happy to see Maki struggling and going "uhnnnn" as she tries to tug and pull the vines to the side.

[ "Lil red"? The nickname makes Maki turn her head to Peacock, certain this is just another in the long line of unappreciated nicknames given to herself instead of Peacock just learning her name like a normal person but... apparently she means Luna instead! ...Which actually may or many not be all that much better. It's still incredibly rude! ]

I-I was planning to let you do it anyway!

[ She says to LUNA and not to any other terrible monsters here. That glance is met with a childish one of it's own, only from Maki. If she were any more childish she'd have stuck her tongue out too. She really can't stand this girl!

Holding tight onto Luna, Maki takes a deep breath, waiting for the grappling hook to just take them. She however, hadn't expected just about nothing to happen.

[He glances, once, at Phasma as she pulls herself up and over. He can tell she's winded, but then again, he's got a special knack for interpreting her and Ren. Rory motions, however, and Hux's attention is diverted, eyes narrowing as he glances up at the creature up there. They could sneak past it. Or he could put a bullet in its brain and eliminate the threat altogether. However, he currently only has three bullets in the chamber. He could reload, but it might draw attention also. They'll have to choose stealth in this moment.

He turns his attention to the tower in front of them, and to the narrow staircase ahead. At which point he's starting to move towards it, slowly, keeping an eye on that monster and the possibility of any others appearing]

I just said I didn't want any!

[ Seriously, these two fight like little kids. Maki prides herself on being mature and responsible, but apparently all it takes to make her act like an elementary schooler is to be picked on by one.

But she can't get too far into yelling at Peacock, she's tired, and needs the rest while she can get it. And the proximity to Luna, at least when she's not leaning forward to yell at Peacock, is soothing. She's gotten more used to this way of exchanging mana, even if it seems like it shouldn't be possible.
]

I-I'm fine. Thanks though... [ See? She can be nice when someone is nice to her. ] It's probably a dragon.. or a phoenix I guess. That's what Lei said.

I didn't know it would be either. But I guess having someone who actually knows how to fight, and seems to enjoy it doesn't hurt... [ SEE SHE CAN EVEN BE NICE TO LITTLE MONSTERS. ]

So many questions, so I'll just bulletpoint them here:

- Can monsters inside the dungeons follow the Heroes out of the Towers and back to Caissa?
- If they can, are they considered loot?
- Alternatively, if they can't follow Heroes out, can the aello still be found around Gisela?

Thank youuu, mods!

[Zelos' crowning moment of heartworming dere is well-timed, because Nora had just scooped up a handful of rapidly congealing bug gunk that he was probably planning on stuffing in Kaede's mouth like you'd do in a mudfight or whatever extremely mature adults in a dungeon are meant to be doing with conveniently sticky gross stuff.

... So instead, before their resident walking gravity catapult runs off, he also gets that handful of bug gunk to the shoulder -- just in case he wasn't sticky enough already -- while Nora makes an irritated huffing noise and turns away towards what looks vaguely like the way forward.

Probably he smacks himself in the face with one of the fronds sticking out of the overgrown jungle by moving too fast, but let's pretend he meant to do that, also.]

You better get back quick before I get hungry enough to eat her. [..... even if she's not human or anything, the mildly demonic habit of threatening to eat anything sentient out of pique is alive and well] It's not like she's that helpful in the first place... What the hell're we supposed to do to keep going, anyway?? Burn the damn plants down?

[To underscore this (and this is in no way petulant), he yanks the abovementioned frond out of its stalk and glares at it suspiciously.]

Who went an' put you in charge, anywa--

[Nora's in the middle of trying to swat at Zelos again for ruffling his hair (like, seriously, why do people keep trying to pat him on the head like he's a dog, please), because he's easily distracted as always, when he finds himself with bottles in his hands, bottles flying all around him and... a flying table, I guess.

The funny thing is, this is probably closer to Nora's style of dealing with potions and other shit requiring thought and a finer touch than most of what they've tried so far. Not that they've tried all that hard on the alchemizing front, but sometimes you gotta cater to your strengths.]

Well, now you're talking butcouldyougiveusmorewarningjeez!!!

[He does hurl his potions rather blindly in the same motion that he dives for base of the table shield -- probably manages to knock the table forward a couple inches, but it works out in the end. I'm really startin' to get tired of this damn hook...

[Not that they even used it as much as they would have had to if they hadn't had a Rook along for the (horribly bumpy, somewhat singed) ride, but Nora's offhand grumbling isn't that charitable. Despite his distaste for it, he's idly swinging the hook around where it's attached to his spear; the entire ensemble has seen better days, but...

For the moment, he's distracted, head craned all the way back and looking up and up and up. You'd think he'd be sick and tired of ridiculous heights and Towers: The Worst Platformer In The History Of The Universe after what they've just been through -- and he is, holy hell -- but this is something else.]

This is really something else, though... [even as he mutters, he's wandering a little away from the group, drawn by the shining curtains of water just within reach] Don't they say you're supposed to train under waterfalls? Don't tell me that's the next challenge, that'd be stupid...

[Even though he doesn't sound like he's too opposed to it. Hey, you never know what might help with your magic on the fritz and one measly non-magical spear to your name. Also, he's thirsty.]

But now she does have her mother anymore... or any of her siblings... and neither does he. She has to be there for him! Mother had also told her... even though a piece of it is broken, the heart never stops growing. As long as she remembers happiness, then her heart will grow to find more. ]

[There's lots of smoke and fireworks but WHEN IT ALL CLEARS....

They're fine and the barrier is gone, but the table is now a sheep. Well. At least it's fluffy. TIME TO CARRY ON!]

Let's go.

[Flicking his hand to get any lingering potion off it, he crosses through the doorway. This is taking too long. Or, no, there is no need to clear this dungeon. From his understanding of the last one what they do here as individuals hardly matters. No. No... He can just feel it. That innate sense. That there is a soul waiting for their arrival. Well no shit, that's how it's always been and Gisela doesn't seem inclined to buck the trend.

Outside is a bridge to another tower. Broken and decayed, it's not exactly passable. Not by normal means at least. So the question is... Does he expend more magic to get them across? Or does he do this the hard way? He's not limitless with mana; whatever he uses here he won't have for later fights. But he can't promise he can get Kaede and Nora safely across going about this the mundane way either.

...However things turn out he'll just have to make it work. TL;DR BLAH BLAH less anyone's got anything to add think we can say they got across as they've been doing up till this point and seg into dragons below. With their special new fashions laughs.]

[ It warms his heart when Sakura reaches out to him, Even though the ache of missing his brother shows no intention of disappearing, but Bolin’s always been easily distracted, and he can’t resist the call of someone calling out to him with concern. If someone’s making the effort of reaching out to him, he’s got to at least meet them half way.

He sends her a soft smile, and whenever someone asks him about his brother, he immediately launches into his complaints; about how Mako is annoying and babies him; how Mako tends to marginalise his problems.

But now. ]

He’s the best. [ He starts, and Mako would probably have a heart attack hearing such kind words from Bolin. ] Our parents were killed when we were kids, but he always took care of me, even though he was just a kid too. Whenever I was scared, or hungry, or lonely, he looked after me. Everything he did was to make sure that the two of us were kept safe.

[ His gaze had wandered while he spoke, but he looks back at Sakura then. ]

Even if it wasn’t the life that he wanted, he always made the best of it; taught me to be grateful for what we had.

[ Shinn's face colored a slight red at the suggestion, and he immediately broke contact the moment he felt that Souji got enough mana from him. It's clear that he's flustered rather than angry considering his next words were... more sputtered than uttered. ]

N-no!? What we need to do is to get up there and defeat whatever's doing this!

[ He's going to start storming off YEAH BYE YOU TWO HAVE FUN. ]

A-anyways! Let's just keep on going, alright!?

Let's just say we're acquaintances and leave it at that for now!

[ Fuck this mission is right, but well, considering Laslow has decided to commit to this, Gods forbid they're going to give up now, so onwards they go, with more cursing and probably screaming to the next section. ]

...By chance, do you know on the art of mixing herbs together?

[ Because laslow sure doesn't. And considering the barrier that's in front of them... Well, this'd take a while, wouldn't it? ]

Ema!

[Thankfully Ema's deft enough to dodge, but it's too close for Korra. She's pissed now. She was mad before, but now she's furious. The ice on her hands recedes to form bracers, and she pulls a paper fan out of her tunic and unfurls it. It's large and elegant and covered with Chinese dragons.

She knows this will drain her mana quickly, but how else can she finish the fight before one of the pawns gets hurt?]

I'm done playing around.

[The fan glows with a fire that flickers between red and blue. Memories of Avatar Kyoshi and Aang both guide her steps, allowing her to keep her balance on the back of the moving dragon while she twirls--

-- and as she brings the fan down, ice extends from her hands and covers Tianya's neck. It's shortly followed by a barrage of lightning not unlike a dragon's breath, which causes the ice to explode mightily. The sheer force of it sends Korra toppling, though she manages to tuck and roll so as to land on her shoulder.

... One head down, two to go. Korra lifts her head to make sure the dragon isn't going to eat her while she's curled up on the platform. It looks like he's taking off... though that might be bad. She just-- just needs a moment to get up.]
