Training at Sunrise

Who: Tieria and YOU
When: May 9th, a day AFTER Intro Log
Where: Caissa, Coastal District
What: Tieria organized a mass training session, hideous ensues?
Rating: Violence, language, more violence

If you made your way to the location, you're already one step closer upon completing your training because this part of the beach is the furthest away from any settlement or port and also the hardest to find. You probably found it by following other heroes' trail, or you're those who stumbles around until you found it or you're actually one of those who went scouting before the actual day.

Either way, congratulation for making it this far ( puns completely intended ). Surrounding the rocky beach is an even rockier cliff. Be careful not to stumble or you will find yourself in need of healing. Thankfully, there are Kings ready to make a guinea pig out of your healing needs around. Your training will be held on the round rock-carved deck overlooking the beautiful sea or on the less rocky stretch of the beach, depending on your Trainer's choice. If you're lucky, your Trainer might even have you hike up that rocky cliff. You may even treat yourself to Caissa's fantastic sunset if you made it up there in time!

In any case, once you've arrived at sunrise ( or rather when the sun has risen sufficiently over the horizon because you're that bad with direction or has no sense of time ) and is done catching your breath, you will come to a notice pinned on the tall fences that tells you to tie a ribbon ( in the buckets, also tied to the fence ) corresponding to the training you wish to partake in on your arm.

Stamina ( GREEN ) ✽ Endurance ( ORANGE ) ✽ Weapons ( BLUE ) ✽ Magic ( PURPLE )

The notice will also instructs those who volunteers to be Trainers to tie a different set of ribbons, with black stripe over the four corresponding colors, on their arm to help differentiate them and the course(s) they're instructing. Of course, if you turn out to be a terrible Trainer, Tieria will rip that ribbon off you and very possibly shoves you into the sea.

There are no training weapon available because you're supposed to bring your own magic weapon.
If you forgot, you can either run back for it or pick a different course.

There's also a clause in very bold red letters that forbid killing. Break it and you will be broken in return.

Are you done tying those ribbons? Then what are you waiting? Get moving!

(( OOC: Please indicate in your top level if your character is a Trainer (which course are they instructing?) or Trainee.
eg.: Harry Potter | TRAINER - MAGIC
eg.: Severus Potter | TRAINEE - EVERYTHING PLEASE

Feel free to mingle around! Make friends, frenemies and even better, rivals! ))

[Potemkin gathers himself, crouching a fair distance away but a palpable awareness pointed at Sion connects them. It's something that has to be felt not seen, as visibly it only looks like Potemkin is looking down, adjusting his gloves, finding and redirecting the energy in his body with deep breaths and a focus that's both sharp and relaxed. It's only when he's confident he's found his center that he'll rise.]

You'll get your wish. The improvements I've made will not disappoint.

[ His wish.

It is too seldom a thing, when the Hero King acts upon whims given entirely to the pursuit of his own enjoyment, but in the here and now, with Potemkin as his opponent, he is as close to it as he ever will be. At heart, Sion is a seeker of thrill. As much as he would temper himself beneath a cordial King's veneer (something which has always read cold in his roommate's presence), at his core he is destruction, and once upon a time...

Once upon a time, in a realm known only to monsters, he had met with an opponent he could not destroy, and though he had raged, and briefly lost sight of his purpose (a God of Destruction, unable to destroy a simple Demon? what folly, what madness, what reason had he to exist if he could not overcome such a thing?), he had also known joy.

At that time, he had found the one to complete him. And now... now, Sion simply enjoys a challenge, something which will tether him to the world beneath his feet, and Potemkin has promised—he'll not disappoint.

Sion smiles, and for once, there is true emotion behind it—it is daring. ]

Show me, then.

[ He rises, standing upon his throne of sea-weathered rock as he expands the barrier outward, increasing its reach, pouring more of his mana into strengthening the construct. ]

Shatter the barrier and reach me, that is your task.

[Time passes, to the point where one might start questioning what distinguishes one second from the rest in Potemkin's calculations. Distant waves crash, seabirds call, and the shore wind blows in a rhythm that seems like could remain unbroken for eternity.

But when he does move, it's unpredictable. Potemkin takes no time to get up, instead it's like he throws himself forward from his crouching legs. This is the fastest anyone has seen the lumbering giant, who otherwise needed to take his time getting anywhere. In a way, he still did. All of that preparation was necessary. He meant his words, he fully intended to show Sion his most.

In the startlingly short time it takes for him to close the distance, Potemkin hooks his arm and brings his fist upward, to give the barrier a vicious uppercut. He's still sticking to what he knows.]

[ It splinters.

Cracks as fine as the filaments of a spider's web bloom from the meeting of magic and brute force, the resulting blow from what had been a magnificent drive forward serving not only to test the foundations of the barrier between them, but rivet a King who for so very, very long has remained unmoved.

(Unbeknownst to even himself, perhaps what Sion had desired for most all this while had been for someone—anyone—to reach him.) ]

Impressive. [ The speed which Potemkin had attained, leaving Sion to wonder if the man's specialty of rank had not contributed to the gains he'd made forward. Light limning from his fingertips, the King pushes back, the words what I seek is reflection upon his lips as the magic manifests: now, every attack launched against the barrier of his design will be greeted with deflection, an equal but opposing force with which to drive all assailants back. ] Have you mastered your hold over gravity?

[ And if the man had not... ]

Make your next strike weighty with it, Potemkin.

[That's something. But it's not what he was aiming for, what he promised. His brow is kept in place, his focus still on the fracture point he had made in the La Vista. If he can extrapolate material science to this magical construction, a wall prone to cracking should be prone to shattering, and he'll only get close the more he concentrates.

Due to his mental focus, his verbal response is subdued.]

I've developed some techniques.

[Potemkin stomps into a new position and gravity magic pulls on his own feet, to be a firm stand in face of the constant deflection of Sion's spell. His fist acts as a drill, still with the full force of his might behind it. ]
