[Zelos' intervention is, in fact, just in time: where Cerberus' main head had been distracted, the snake heads were still doing a dangerous dance with Kaede. They'd pulled back in some alarm when she pulled out a sharp object that then burst into flame, but even a fire axe isn't very impressive in this kind of weather.
So, they're just about to lash out and possibly pull a pincer attack on Kaede (these are some organized-ass snake tails, literally and figuratively) that would probably knock her off her feet again... when the healing spells kicks in. It's the wind and sudden curtain of rain that throws off the snakes' aim, so all that happens is that some cobblestone gets wrecked by Kaede's feet and possibly one snake goes whistling over her head when she starts moving.
Cerberus itself stills for a moment, seemingly confused both by the reduced visibility and the lack of real attack -- and that's when Kaede lands on its face. There's another high-pitched noise from the hellhound, this time definitely more along the lines of a yelp. Its first instinct is to lower its head and try to rub the obstruction off its face with its front paws...
However, the snake tails have extracted themselves from the cobblestones now and may be coming back around to help. Someone should probably intercept those before they try to scratch this particular itch.]
